So, after more than 2 years I have finally updated. I am so sorry for the wait. Things have been going on and I almost lost interest in writing. But now I am back (but I might still take super long to update so bear with me.)

Nanoha is 15-16 years old in the first chapter =).

Chapter 7

Verossa Acous wandered around Hayate's office, picking up random objects, letting his long green hair freely swinging around.

"Really, are you really that bored waiting?" Hayate and Chrono walked through the door, entering the room. "People might mistake you as a thief."

"Ah, finally!" Verossa settled down on the chair. "They wouldn't, we've been friends for the longest period of time!"

"Still, it's a bad habit. The other time, I almost caught you ransacking my office." Chrono said.

Verossa faked a hurt expression. "That was hurtful."

"Anyways, you've been looking awfully depressed lately. Care to share anything?" Verossa questioned the blue-haired man.

"I agree." Hayate smiled. "We know you're probably busy like usual but recently there seems to be a lot more on your mind."

"Well… Haha… It's just… I guess the stress is coming now huh…?" Chrono stuttered while trying to laugh. He failed miserably of course.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Hayate probed. She was curious, and concern.

With that Chrono gave a big reaction. "No! No way! Impossible! I can't!" Of course there is no way of him telling her something that might potentially ruin her relationship with Nanoha.

"Geez… No need have such big reaction. I was just concerned…" Hayate replied, thinking much about it.

Verossa on the other hand, took note of that. After Hayate left, he questioned Chrono.

He took a sip of his tea, and asked. "Does it… Have something to do with Hayate?"

"Wait what? Why would you think that!" Chrono gave an exaggerated look.

Verossa easily saw through him. He put a hand over his back and pat. "If you wanna talk about it, I am always here for you…"

"Thank you… But I don't think it is appropriate for me to say it…"

"It's ok, take your time…"

Despite what he said, Verossa swore he was going to find out what is it that is going on with Chrono lately, especially since it also concerns Hayate.

"Amy's coming?" Nanoha tried her hardest to keep her expression to herself. The trio was having a get together on one of their rare off days. They were sitting a café in Mid-childa.

"Yup! I invited her! Ever since Carol and Liera started school recently, she had slightly more free time. And we haven't really hanged out with her much recently." Hayate explained.

"HEEELLLOOOOOOO GUYYYYYYS!" Amy shouted from across the road, with her two arms in the air, making an exaggerated wave. Beside her were the twins.

Omg… What should I do…? Nanoha was panicking inside, her heartbeat went up when she saw them. Sure, she had interacted with the family before, multiple times in fact. But all those times were before the creation of her new found guilt. In the past, she was just upset and full of envy, but now, it is filled with guilt and more guilt.

"Carol and Liera! Wow you guys sure have grown!" Fate reached her hands out to them as they crawl all over their aunt.

"Oh my, I am so happy! I haven't seen you guys for so long. How is it? Nanoha, how was it working on the Ship? Is Chrono bullying you?" Amy asked teasingly and Nanoha swore that her heart probably stopped for awhile.

They are all settled down with the twins settling their place in Fate's laps, and Amy beside Nanoha.

"I… Ya, its alright… I'm getting used to it… And… Chrono is nice so there isn't anything bad?" Nanoha laughed as she tried to hide her nervousness.

"But its soooo rare to see you Nanoha! Ever since you got assigned to the Ship, we haven't really meet up much!" Hayate whined.

"Well, now I have some more free time to myself. The Ship is undergoing maintenance, so it has to return to Mid-Childa regularly and I have plenty of time now when I return. "

"EEHH… Really? But why is Chrono so busy?" Amy questioned.

"Ah… He is constantly on missions and there are still loads of work to do on the ship so he has to oversee it. He can't really leave."

"I see… The kids are really missing their father… Ever since they started school, they have been talking about magic non-stop... They really want to learn it but… They seemed really interested in it you know. But I am not capable enough to teach them…" Amy sighed.

"Ah! Since Nanoha has more free time now, maybe she can teach the kids!" Hayate excitedly suggested. "Nanoha is a first class instructor! Highly sought after!"

Nanoha and Fate were quite shocked and tried to protest against the idea before a bright eyed Amy interrupted them.

"Eh! Really?! Is that alright Nanoha?" Amy grabbed Nanoha's hands and showed her a face that is equivalent to a puppy's face. "Carol and Liera really love magic! They want to learn!"

Upon hearing their names, the twins scrambled to Nanoha, "Eh, is big sis going to teach us magic? Yay! Are we finally able to learn magic? We wannnaaaa learn!" The twins excitedly climb onto Nanoha despite her protests.

"Please Nanoha! The time is up to you, whenever you are free! Just drop by our house!" Amy begged.

"No- I don't think -" Fate tried to speak up but she was interrupted by Nanoha.

"Alright."

Maybe now, she can finally know a little bit more about Chrono and his family.

Nanoha was resting her head against Chrono's chest before he started, "I heard you are teaching the kids magic."

"Ahh…I… I couldn't say no. And you are late to ask." Nanoha had been teaching the kids for about one month now, and Chrono had not mentioned anything until now.

"I left the kids in the care of Amy. She mentioned it once or twice, but I did not know that it was a regular thing." Chrono sounded tired.

"The kids really like magic." And me. She realise that it is better if that piece of information was left out. She had been instructing the kids, and she had grown to like them, and vice versa. The piece of guilt was buried under all the fun she had been having while hanging out with the household. She really like kids and teaching. And she realise that being upset at the kids did nobody any good either – the children are innocent.

"Quit now."

"They won't know anything."

"They're my family." Chrono sighed. He was really tired and do not want to fight.

"I won't hurt them."

"Why are you doing this?" Chrono's voiced started to sound angry. "Is it part of your ploy?"

Nanoha was really hurt. All the emotions buried under her for so long are starting to come out. Tears are threatening to form but she has to hold it in. She cannot deny the accusation because yes, she only accepted to teach them because she wanted to know more about Chrono's family. But she never wanted to hurt anybody.

"I'm leaving" Nanoha wanted to control her emotions, but she knows that she cannot do that if she continues staying in the room. She collected her things and left the room. She did not even bother about her appearance.

Sorry for the grammar and English. Really.

The plot might seem to be moving too fast but that's ok. There are more plotline happening in the future (Should I stop being lazy and write T.T). I'm waayyyyyyyyyyyy too lazy. Sorry that you have to be suffering because of my laziness.
