Murdoc and 2D came tripping out of the door back into the dark, ominous corridor once again. Murdoc and 2D turned around and walked to the next door and pushed it open.
This time, they walked inside a cute shop with a rather large sign that read 'Uncle Norm's Organ Emporium'.
2D immediately stopped and looked around wide eyed. It'd been years since he'd stepped inside of the store, and suddenly many memories came over flowing his senses all at one. Memories, coupled with the strong sent of the cleanser her used to mop the large tiled floors made him light headed. His knees wobbled, his stomach was doing summersaults, and he swayed from left to right.
He felt a hand on his shoulder to keep steady and turned to find Murdoc with a look of concern on his face.
"You alright?" The bassist inquired. "You don't look too good.
He swallowed down whatever was trying to crawl its way out of his throat and nodded.
The bassist lifted his head and looked around. "I don't know where we are."
It was the singer's turn to lift his head and look around. "We're in the back of the store." He concluded.
"How do we get to the register?"
2D grabbed Murdoc's wrist and guided him, twisting and turning through isles filled with keyboards, guitars, medolicas, drum sets, microphones, and any other instrument and accessory you could think of along with other merchandise. The pair finally came upon a figure sitting behind the counter. He was obviously male, and had hair that looked to be purple. Once they go up to the counter, they walked to stand in front of the register to find 2D from when he was a teenager idly flipping through a magazine. His eyes flickered up to the two.
He smiled. "Hello!" He looked 2D up and down for a few seconds. "How can I interest you in an instrument today?"
"We're not here for instruments." Murdoc spoke, frowning at how the Saturday boy was staring at his future self. "We're looking for a way out of here."
"The door is that way." He said flatly as he pointed to the doors leading outside of the store. He turned his full attention to 2D as he leaned over the counter. "Hello 2D." He smiled once more, but this smile possessed a mixture of lust with a sinisterly touch to it.
It made 2D uncomfortable. "U-uh, hi Stuart?"
Murdoc went to investigate the door, leaving 2D and Stuart behind, but keeping a close eye on them.
Stuart leaned closer to 2D. "Hmm, I look good with hyphema." He chuckled.
2D blinked. Was his past self coming onto him?
Murdoc was at the door leading in and out of the store when something dangling from above caught his eye. He looked to find a red crystal twirling on a string. Something about it intrigued him so much that just had to stare.
"Why are you helping Murdoc anyway?" Stuart asked.
"Because, he's my bandmate." 2D said.
Stuart rolled dark eyes. "But, he ruined your- our face." He reached under the counter and pulled out a mirror and pointed it at him. "He's the reason why you have a gap in your teeth. Why your eyes are permanently damaged…" He leaned even closer. "You should want him to stay here and pay for what he's done to you." He pressed his soft lips to 2D's ear and whispered. "You should join me. I'll help you out of here. You can get your face back."
2D stared at his reflection hard whilst contemplating. Murdoc has put him through a lot of unnecessary pain over the years… "N-no." He shook his head free of any ill thoughts towards the bassist. "I can't just leave him here to die."
Stuart still pressed the issue. "How do you know he's not using you? He seems to do that better than he plays the bass."
"One thing I do know is to not trust a demon." 2D frowned.
Stuart smirked. "I'm no demon at all. I'm the real you. The you that's well aware of his surroundings."
2D was silent. Stuart continued.
"And if you can't trust yourself, how can you trust someone else here? There's no higher power whose favor you're in that can block out the evil of this place to guide you back to Earth. He might want to sacrifice your soul to save his own."
2D said nothing, shaking his head slightly.
Murdoc was so enraptured in the crystal that he didn't notice the car speeding towards him.
The sound of a roaring engine brought 2D to his senses. "MURDOC MOVE!"
The singer began running to Murdoc's rescue when Stuart ran past him and pulled Murdoc out of the way just as the car smashed into the window and hit Stuart in the face.
Murdoc, dazed, laid in the middle of the floor on his back. 2D dragged him behind the behind the counter and put his hand to Murdoc's mouth to prevent the surprised yelp he made from becoming audible.
"Shh." He told the bassist. "This is a demonized version of you. We don't know what to expect."
2D peeked over the counter to see Murdoc tending to a comatose Stuart, all the while swearing under his breath. He saw Murdoc's gang of hooligans jump out of the car, eyes glowing red. The biggest one lifted his head in the air and sniffed.
"Aye, I think I smell someone else here!" His head snapped over to where the pair were. He smirked. "This way."
The singer's eyes widened. "C'mon Muds we gotta go!" He whispered.
They crouched down as low as they could and ran, the crew not too far behind. 2D looked over at Murdoc and nodded, Murdoc nodding as well. Just as they were approaching a wall, Murdoc shifted gears and ran to the right, while 2D ran to the left. The pack of demons split up as well, half going for Murdoc, while the other half when for 2D.
Murdoc found himself running down an isle full of drums. He took his arm and knocked down most of the drums off the shelves to trip the demons.
All of a sudden, one of the shelves came tumbling down on top of him, pinning him and eliminating all chances of escape.
2D found himself cornered by the demons. Then, sirens sounded in the air.
They stopped and listened as the sirens grew louder.
"You're lucky. Next time though, you're dead." And they tore off through the back door.
2D ran and found Murdoc trapped under the shelf. "Murdoc!" he cried. 2D used all of the strength he could muster to lift it and hold it long enough for Murdoc to crawl from under it.
"Are you hurt badly?" 2D asked as he stooped more to the raven haired man's level.
"No, I'm fine." He rasped.
2D helped him stand and keep steady. "Look!" 2D exclaimed as he caught sight of the door.
They hobbled towards the door, not knowing that they were about to be separated, and that this separation could last forever…
