Sorry for the mini hiatus. I had a really bad writer's block. I've come back to save the archive from bad fanfics. Seriously, the new fanfics are horrible and repetitive (no offense to new writers...)
Once back in the Antechamber of Hell, the two decided to take a rest. They propped themselves up against the wall for support, panting and a bit shaken by their previous meet with Murdoc's nasty boy crew's demon versions. 2D looked at Murdoc, who was bruised from his encounter with the shelve falling on top of him. The bassist hoisted himself up.
"Okay, let's go." He approached the door, bracing himself for what was next. His hand was mere centimeters away from the knob when 2D grabbed ahold of his wrist.
"Wait!" 2D cried. He looked down at the bassist. "You don't wanna wait for your bruises to heal?"
Murdoc shook his head. "Where we are, I doubt they'll ever heal." He turned back around and turned twisted the knob to enter the door.
This time they were in a hospital. Instead of it being white and unusually bright, it was dark with a red hue. They walked to an empty front desk that read 'Ransom Memorial Hospital' in bloodied, black letter that were dripping. Blood was smeared all around it, and a couple of handprints were impishly placed here and there at random. Distant wails and screams of agony and pain sounding from the mentally ill and sick could be heard behind the double doors that lead to hospital rooms.
The place made a shiver run down the bassist's spine. He had a feeling he should keep a close eye on 2D so they wouldn't lose each other in the humongous building that was the clinic. They cautiously walked around the waiting area to examine further.
Then, a shadow. A dark one with bright, glowing eyes and many tentacles wrapped one of them around the singer's mouth to stifle the scream he made once it grabbed him. Using the others, he wrapped them around 2D's slim frame and disappeared beneath the floor in a pool of a black substance that faded into smoke, taking the singer with him.
"I think we should stay closer than usual here, okay?" Once he didn't get a response, he sharply turned around to see his mate had disappeared from his side once more.
"Fuck! 2D!" His eyes darted all across the area for any sign of the blunette.
Just then, a creepy laugh reverberated throughout the hospital. "You have to continue on your journey without him~" the twisted, distorted sounding voice said. The double doors flung open as if to invite Murdoc inside.
Narrowing his eyes and furrowing his unseen eyebrows, he didn't dare question his personal hell, instead walking through the doors, only to have them shut close once he got through them, forbidding any means of escape for what's to come. He looked around as he proceeded. He passed one room that had a doctor dissecting a patient alive. He removed his eyeballs with trouble, tugging them so hard they went flying onto the ceiling once they came off.
He passed the next room which had a woman who had stringy, shoulder length dark hair and a fringe covering her eyebrows. She was nothing but an upper body. You could see some of her spine exposed. Most of it was covered by torn, pale flesh. She was naked, save for the x's she had covering her nipples. One eye was hanging out of the socket, while the other appeared to be nonexistent, a milky whiteness in its place instead. There was a hole in the shape of a heart torn onto her chest just above her left breast, blood running down in crimson rivulets. Her shark like teeth were bore as she laid on the floor bleeding to death.
He pressed forward until he heard the pain induced groans of a certain singer sounding from down the steps. He raced down them and burst through the doors to find another hallway. He followed the whimpers and ran right into 2D. The collision caused them both to fall onto the floor. Murdoc sat up and looked at the 2D, sporting his own blood on his shirt and cuts and bruises in various places on his body.
"Murdoc!" He cried as he flung his arms round the bassist.
"Holy shit. Stuart, what happened to you?"
He quickly got back up, then helped Murdoc up. "I can't tell you. But we gotta get outta here!" He squeaked and grabbed his arm and began pulling him, running as fast as he could while tugging the Satanist behind him.
"Wait, wait, wait." The bassist said as he stopped running. "How come you can't tell me?"
"I can't tell you. Just please, come with me!" He pleaded. He couldn't tell Murdoc in fear of getting lost in hell forever.
Murdoc gave him a questioning look but proceeded with 2D anyway.
Just as they were about to reach the door leading to another hallway, the shadowy demon appeared once more. The men backed away as it trudged towards them menacingly.
"We need to go separate ways…" Murdoc said as he looked over at 2D.
2D looked back at him. "But, what if one of us gets lost?"
"Neither of us will, I promise." The bassist nodded slightly. "Find the nearest room and call the security office. I'll try to make it there and meet you."
One the count of three, they both bolted in opposite directions. The shadow followed 2D instead of Murdoc, like he originally thought it would. This got Murdoc wondering why it did that. He made his way to the security office located in the lobby and searched for the camera showcasing the room 2D was in.
The singer ran as fast as he could, dipping around the corners of the ER ward and making sharp turns to slow the thing after him. Even though he'd finally managed to lose the shadow, he continued running quickly. Past the gift shop and soiled linen basket before finally arriving at room 32. He quickly entered it and shut the door quietly. Something inside of him told him to hide behind the bed, since the demon was nearby. Just as the thing walked up to the door, 2D felt the sudden urge to scream at the top of his lungs. Clasping both of his hands over his lips, he waited a bit then peeked from behind his hiding spot, sighing when he didn't see the demon. He crawled from behind it and grabbed the remote attached to the bed when the demon appeared out of nowhere.
Startled, 2D jumped. "EEEK!"
The room began to morph, getting even darker than it was before. Everything leaked blood; the walls, the bed, and the floor. The shadowy figure looked upon the singer fastidiously.
2D frantically pushed the button to call security as the demon stared at his every move, large, round red orbs piercing into his soul…
Feels as though it's setting my soul on fire…
This thought ran through 2D's mind as he focused on it more until it shifted into a familiar shape, then took on a familiar face...
~OoO~OoO~OoO~OoO~OoO~
When Murdoc saw the flashing red light go off for room number 32 in the ER ward, he immediately looked up at the screen at the room's camera, but frowned when he realized the cameras were static. Then, that light flashed off and the light for room 46 in the same ward went off, he rushed there instead.
Entering the room, he looked around for any sign of the singer's presence. He found him sitting in the bed with a bandage wrapped around his head, clad in a hospital gown.
"2D?"
His visible eye snapped up at him, his face splitting into a crazed smirk.
"Nope, But you were close."
Murdoc's eyes narrowed at him. "Where's 2D?"
Stuart looked up at him, a mild look of hurt on his features. "Even though I'm the one in a hospital, I'm still the one that receives the blame?"
"I don't trust you."
"And why is that?"
"You're a demon. I just know it."
Stuart chuckled. "I am no demon of any kind." He added. "And I you don't trust me, why would you ask me of my future self's whereabouts? I could've led you into a trap."
"Because I know you don't function like that. That's way too typical for you."
"How'd you come to that conclusion?"
"Because, I know 2D inside out, so his Hell version must think more sinisterly than he really does."
The teen smirked. "Nice observations, but…" He then frowned back again, lifting his hand to his face to snatch the bloody bandage off from his eye. His fringe fell back over it. "You must not have noticed exactly what you did to me."
He lifted the hair over his damaged eye, revealing it to still be red and leaking blood.
"My eye was beautiful until you came crashing into my life…" He glared at him, shaking his head. Blood streamed down his colorless cheeks. "It's okay, though. You'll get exactly what you deserve in the end."
All of a sudden, Murdoc found himself being submerged in a river. He held his breath as the dirty water turned to blood. He could hear many voices at once.
"Ms. Niccals please, stop."
"Don't drown him!"
"Let the baby go!"
The splashing of water.
"He shouldn't be alive!"
In reality, he was clutching his head from all of the voices screaming at once.
A blood curdling scream sounded from the room 2D and the demon were in. The jogged him out of his hallucination.
"Shit!" Murdoc dashed off to where they were to find that the demon had took his appearance and was currently going after 2D with a butcher knife.
Murdoc grabbed the chair sitting in the corner and threw it at its head, wincing as the pain of being hit in the head washed over him. He grasped 2D's wrist. "C'mon!"
They ran down the hallway on their way to the lobby. 2D kept thinking about what the shadowy demon told him before beating him.
"The only way you guys can get out of here is if Murdoc leaves you behind. Unless you want to die, don't tell him that. When he is enlightened, the door will appear…"
"Murdoc," 2D uneasily looked over at him. He was willing to risk it all.
"What is it 2D?"
"Promise me something?"
"Now?"
"Yes, now."
"What?"
2D took a breath. "Promise me that no matter what happens, you'll always come back for me. If we lose each other, you will press on and get out of here, but never stop looking for me."
Murdoc nodded as best he could. "Of course. I promise."
"Murdoc, you have to leave me here." 2D said, biting his lip.
The bassist stopped running once they reached the entrance. "No, I can't-"
"You have to, unless you want to stay here forever!" He said at once, cutting him off. "Trust me, please. I'll be fine. Just leave me behind!"
Murdoc reluctantly nodded. Almost immediately, the door appeared a few yards down.
"Go!" 2D cried.
Murdoc raced to the door, an ominous feeling in the pit of his stomach. The shadowy demon appearing once more. It seized 2D.
"I thought I told you not to tell!" It rasped at him.
As Murdoc shut the door behind him, the he could hear the singer's shrill cries.
"Fuck! STU!" He jiggled the doorknob, trying to get back in, but it was locked. He pounded on it in vain, stopping when it faded away.
He felt guilty for not saving the blunette. They both would be back in the antechamber safe. He sat with his back to the wall and banged his head into it, swearing at himself.
Their last conversation replayed in his mind over and over again. He thought about the promise he made to him.
"Promise me that no matter what happens, you'll always come back for me. If we lose each other, you will press on and get out of here, but never stop looking for me…"
"Of course. I promise."
The bassist got up.
"If what he said was true, then we'll meet up again." He stretched. "I hope it is…" With restored faith, he walked up to the next door and entered it, determined to reunite with 2D, no matter the costs.
