The bassist found himself walking through the door and into an empty car lot. Everything was still and quiet, which he knew could change at any minute. As he walked about, he looked around for any sign of another being there with him. Murdoc looked around in all directions; he even looked up at the gray sky. Still, no sign of anyone.

As he neared the corner of a building, the faint sound of a car engine and the cheering of a crowd could be heard. The distorted sounds became louder the closer he approached the area.

Murdoc turned the corner to see the car he previously owned doing donuts surrounded by the crowd of cheering demons. Simultaneously, the crowd's heads snapped towards Murdoc and the car stopped and faced him. The headlights flickered on.

Shit.

He moved to run away, but found that he was paralyzed from the neck down. Still, he tried in vain to move his limbs and sprint away as the automobile revved towards him at seemingly lightning speed. He braced himself for the impact. The car was 2 inches away from hitting his body…

The raven haired man gripped the steering wheel as hard as he could and widened his eyes. He felt dazed. Looking up at the rearview mirror, he saw Stuart smirking at him.

He looked even more insane than he did in the last memory.

"Are you afraid yet?"

"I was afraid before I even came here." Murdoc replied truthfully.

Stuart chortled. "I know."

"Then why would you ask me something you already know?"

"To see if you'd lie." Stuart said simply. "I know everything about your existence.

Looking away from the rearview mirror and focusing more on where he was going, the automobile was quickly approaching someone. Murdoc attempted to swerve out of the way, but his car still kept straight and he ran them over. The tires left a blood trail wherever it rolled. His vehicle was rapidly going faster and faster, until the speedometer broke. Even then, it still when reached higher miles per hour.

The bassist tried to open the door to no avail. It still remained shut tight.

Murdoc knew exactly what he had to do. He didn't even bother strapping himself in; at this speed, he would still fly out of the windshield, and he could possible break a rib with the belt restricting him. Closing his eyes and shielding his face with his arms, he pressed on the brakes, and both he and Stuart were launched out of the car.

Stuart hit his head with a sickening crack and skidded across the pavement for 5 minutes.

The fabric on Murdoc's sweater wore away, leaving his skin exposed to the ground and gravel. He didn't slip for as long Stuart did, but his arms still got cut and scratched up. Groaning, he lifted himself off of the ground, blood rushing out of his arm in crimson rivulets, and looked over at Stuart.

He was still for a second, then his finger twitched. He planted his palms face down on the ground and rose up. As he stood, his joints popped loudly. Stuart sharply turned to look at the bassist, who was a few yards away. He strolled over towards Murdoc and wrapped his hands around his neck.

"LOOK WHAT YOU'VE DONE TO ME!" He shouted at the top of his lungs, shaking him. "My eyes… My beautiful eyes are forever ruined because of you!" He screamed, a mixture of blood and tears running down his pale cheeks. "I'm a walking freak show because of you!" He gripped his neck tighter than before.

Murdoc was beginning to need air. He didn't think he'd last very long. His eyes would roll in the back of his head before he'd blink and roll them back to normal.

Black blotches were starting invade his vision. Little by little, his vision was going black. The last little bit of his sight was Stuart's angry face fading into darkness.

Just before he could perish, the Saturday boy's grasp on Murdoc's neck loosened, and he collapsed before Murdoc did.

Murdoc was hunched over on his knees, his hands cradling his neck as he took in needy, deep gasps of air.

Suddenly, he felt a boiling hot raindrop fall onto his head. Hissing, he looked up to the sky to see reddish-purple rainclouds quickly advancing towards him overhead.

Springing up, he was just about to make a run for it when he remembered Stuart. He couldn't just leave him there to be boiled alive. Expeditiously, he grabbed Stuart and dragged him under the roof of a building to shield them from the scorching rain. He waited until it completely passed to walk back out. Leaving Stuart where he was, he walked around in search of a vehicle. He found a discarded one, and made a shout in victory when he noticed it still worked properly. Driving the area he was in previously, he stopped and put Stuart into the car to drive him to the hospital.

He drove as fast as he could, the emptiness of this world made him anxious, but allowed for him to drive as fast as the car could go without hitting something.

When he arrived outside of the hospital, Murdoc got out and opened the passenger's side to carry the Saturday boy inside the clinic. Once inside, he looked around for a sign of anyone else there, getting no luck. Sitting him down in one of the chairs in the waiting area, he walked into the security office and looked at all of the monitors to the rooms, getting no signs of 2D.

"Promise me that no matter what happens, you'll always come back for me. If we lose each other, you will press on and get out of here, but never stop looking for me."

Those words resonated throughout his head. He was determined to find him again.

As he was checking out the cameras, he didn't notice Stuart's body slowly levitating into the air, a light blue energy orb surrounding him. Slowly, his eyes flickered open. Looking around, he took in his surroundings. He was in the hospital. The orb disappeared and he dropped back down to the floor, making a soft thud, but sticking the landing.

This finally caught the bassist's attention. He turned around and confused Stuart for 2D. "2D?"

"No," He started. "But you were close." Stuart glared at him, a wide smirk on his lips. He still had all of his teeth. "Now, where were we before I passed out?"
