Chapter 8: Unexpected Recovery

As the two race through the outskirts of Striker City at night, Springtrap was getting annoyed with how Foxy kept following him. He figured the only way he'd get to focus on the creatures himself was to take out Foxy again. Along the way they saw a lot of damage to several of the houses they had out here and the roads were nearly usable. Some fences, lampposts and cars were also destroyed...Foxy could've sworn those cars had dead people inside. He sped up some more until he was tied with Spingtrap.

"LAD, YE NEED TO STOP! IT'S NOT WORTH GOING ON YOUR OWN!" Foxy yelled.

"LEAVE ME ALONE, OR ELSE!" Springtrap snarled.

"YE GOT LUCKY LAST TIME, AND YE MAY THINK YER FASTER, BUT I STILL HAVE A FEW TRICKS BEHIND MY EYE-PATCH!" Foxy said.

Remembering his fire abilities from the assault on Fredrick's army, he developed a special fiery boost that sent him past Springtrap, much to the bunny's surprise. Nevertheless, Springtrap kicked in his golden boost and tried to ram into him. The two collided shoulders, their waves of energy creating sparks. Springtrap could not believe the power this fox had, so the others must have something special as well. One way or another, one of them was going down.

"Alright Foxy, time for me to finish this." Springtrap said.

"Ye will never win landlubber!" Foxy said.

And so the two raced and battled as they circled around the outside of town. Springtrap, being able to float in the air, teleported in front of Foxy trying to punch him, Foxy blocked it with his hook, jump up and kicked Springtrap in the face and hopped over him. Springtrap simply shook off the hit and went to catch up with him.

"Why you..." Springtrap growled.

Foxy looked back to see the bunny catching up fast and was trying to hit him from behind. Foxy did a zigzag formation making Springtrap miss. Foxy abruptly stops and catches him with a punch to the gut before taking off again.

"UGH...GET BACK HERE!" Springtrap said.

He teleported again in front of Foxy but then teleported behind Foxy before the fox could hit him and Springtrap punched him in the back of the head and kicked him in the back. Foxy nearly fell but gained his balance and sped up. He knew tricking Springtrap was the best option here. Springtrap fired several orbs but Foxy dodged them all before jumping up and flipping backwards, seeing Springtrap go past him, he created a large fireball and it crashed into Springtrap.

Foxy pasts him this time trying to get to Nette's house which was not that far off. An enraged Springtrap ran up behind him and punched him in the face, Foxy swung his hook cutting off some fur off of Springtrap. Foxy had to keep ahead of him but kept having to dodge Springtrap's orbs and lazer eyes...at least this time he wasn't trying to shoot him.

Springtrap teleported around Foxy enough times to make the foxy dizzy from trying to hit him. Springtrap ended up getting a few more punches and kicks into Foxy, not giving his victim a chance to fight back. Foxy was getting irritated by being knocked around.

"That does it, ye want to play that game, I can play it too!" Foxy growled.

As Foxy kept running, he concentrated and watched for a good time to catch Springtrap, by pure luck he correctly guessed that Springtrap would try to hit him in the face again, so Foxy screeched to a halt and jumped back just as Springtrap warped in front of him to punch him. Foxy grabbed his arm much to the bunny's horror.

"GOT YA!"

Foxy then boosted straight into Springtrap and kicked him several feet away.

"JUST LEAVE ME ALONE FOX! I CAN DO EVERYTHING BY MYSELF!"

"NO! I'M NOT LETTING YE DO THIS BY YERSELF! EVEN IF I HAVE TO KICK YER ASS TO STOP YE!"

"AAAAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHH!"

Springtrap and Foxy ignited their respective colored auras and got ready to charge at each other, dust rising all over the place. Both thinking the battle would end here, they ran straight at each other. The collision was massive and a thunderous boom could be heard half-way across town. At Nette's house, he Freddy and Chica could hear it.

"What was that?" Chica asked.

"That didn't sound good." Freddy said.

"The source is nearby, we should go investigate." Nette said.

Back with the fight, the large burst of energy from the collision had created a large cloud of dust that rose around the area. All that could be seen were streaks of red and gold clashing in different spots for a few minutes. Nette, Freddy and Chica arrived just by the gate that separated the neighborhood and the dirt areas and they could see the large dust cloud starting to settle. The streaks of red and gold had reverted back to a normal Foxy and Springtrap who were tiring out, neither of them falling down...at least until a few seconds later when one of them fell with a thud.

"YES!" Chica cheered.

It was Foxy who remained standing as Springtrap fell to the ground.

"You're...better than I thought." Springtrap panted.

"Foxy the pirate fox will always be better." Foxy scoffed.

Suddenly a familiar black and red customized dodge challenger came racing into view and but tried screeching to a halt trying not to hit Foxy, but it was enough to send Foxy crashing into the hood of the car.

THWACK!

Foxy saw in the vehicle a horrified Thunder the panther and Frank the cat looking at him.

"Oops." Thunder said.

Foxy flipped him off before sliding to the ground. The other three gathered around Springtrap, Nette grabbed him by the neck and faced him.

"ENOUGH OUT OF YOU! WE DON'T HAVE TIME FOR THIS SHIT!" Nette snarled.

Something about Nette make Springtrap realize this puppet was not to be angered. Nette teleported them all back to his living room. Then he warped Mangle, Bon Bon and Chi Chi to the room too. Chi Chi smirked at Springtrap who lightly blushed.

"Alright then, Springtrap you will work with us whether you like it or not." Nette said.

"I told you I don't-"

Nette floated up to meet his eyes and his own revealed his white pupils.

"Or would you rather die a painful death as I rip your ears off, shove them down your throat and them I turn you completely inside-out?" Nette threatened.

That was enough to make Springtrap back away in fear...something he hadn't shown for a long time.

"Okay I'll do it." Springtrap said nervously.

"Good, now that wasn't so bad." Nette said so cheerfully it was creepy to the others.

"Chi Chi have you seen Bonnie?" Bon Bon asked.

"No, which is strange." Chi Chi said.

"We need to find him." Freddy said.

"I'll go back to the house later to see if he's hiding or something." Chi Chi said.

"So why are you guys here?" Mangle asked the panther and cat.

They simply pointed at Nette who rubbed the back of his head.

"Yeah I called them for back-up." Nette said.

"Ugh, we're always used for that these days." Frank muttered.

"Hey at least we get to do something." Thunder shrugged.

"So what's the plan exactly?" Springtrap asked.

"We know they'll keep hiding from us until their grand assault, we must strike as soon as they start it. We will separate into 3 different groups, two groups will attack the creatures while the third, knowing the creatures have a cloning ability as revealed in this book, will destroy all those clones. I have yet to decide who's with who so hopefully if the town is okay tonight, I'll have everything ready tomorrow." Nette explained.

Everyone nodded before Nette turned to Springtrap.

"Springtrap...I'll be watching you." Nette warned.

Springtrap looked away trying not to show fear.

"Just don't expect me to be around when this is over." Springtrap said.

Suddenly, his head began to spark again causing him to grab his head.

"Ugh, that pain again!" He groaned.

Nette noticing something about one of the permanent cuts on Springtrap's ear for the one that had only the lower-half.

"Hold still." Nette said coming over.

Nette had to open the wound and spots some small metal chip lodged inside. It looked busted.

"What is it?" Springtrap asked as everyone looked.

"Hmm, from what I'm sensing, it appears to be something that was planted to create a brand new memory for a person, Fredrick did this...only he could have done it." Nette said.

"THAT BEAR...HE ERASED MOST OF MY MEMORIES?" Springtrap roared.

"Looks like it, but the damage has been done, you may have to start new Springtrap." Nette sighed.

Everyone watched as Springtrap failed to hold back his tears. He was so upset about everything, he couldn't believe he was being used by him...he thought Fredrick was laughing at him even in death.

"Fuck Fredrick...fuck him to the deepest pits of hell." Springtrap growled.

"Mabye you should go lie down, get some sleep." Nette suggested.

"I guess I should." Springtrap thought.

As everyone departed, Freddy wrapped an arm around Foxy.

"He'll stick around afterwards, I know he will." He smirked and Foxy agreed.

Thunder tapped Chica on a shoulder.

"So...that's not Bonnie with a different name? Because he looks like him." He whispered.

"No it's not him, we've already established that." Chica said.

"Oh."

Chi Chi went back home knowing Springtrap had teleported himself back up. She wondered where Bonnie could possibly be, he still never answered her calls. Once again she found her door unlocked, maybe Bonnie was here this time. His truck was parked nearby.

"BONNIE...BONNIE...BONNIE!" She kept calling his name.

But she got no answer. She finally looked into her bed and snorted when she saw a large lump under her covers. She lifted up part of the cover seeing Bonnie looking back at her with large eyes.

"Bonnie get out from under the covers." Chi Chi groaned.

"No...I don't want to. I just want to lie here for a bit longer." Bonnie sulked.

"No way, this is my bed. And it's getting late, maybe I wanna rest." Chi Chi said.

"Um...nothing else?" Bonnie asked.

Chi Chi chuckled and rolled her eyes knowing what he meant.

"Oh get out from under there before I make you." Chi Chi said.

"Ooh I'm so scared." Bonnie teased.

"THAT DOES IT!"

Chi Chi dove right under the covers and grappled with Bonnie and the two wrestled around for awhile. Eventually the covers and sheets tore off the bed and they all tumbled off the bed. Chi Chi landed on Bonnie who hit the ground hard.

"Aw my back!" Bonnie groaned.

"Serves you right. Why are you so down still? You had a chance to talk to Freddy and you blew it."

"I'm just not ready yet."

"Well tomorrow morning, you need to go over there and make up already."

"I guess you're right, but it won't be easy."

"Don't worry, everything will be fine. After all, you can't lose your best friend." Chi Chi said.

Bonnie blushed and giggled as Chi Chi rubbed his head.

"Stop Chi Chi, he-he, stop!"

Eventually she did and they started to make-out for a few minutes before deciding to continue this on the bed. Meanwhile on the top floor, Springtrap was sitting on his bed still angry. He was hoping everything would change today, but it looked like it would take one more day before he's ever feel truly happy again, and he couldn't even remember the last time he was happy.

"I'll stop those shadow creatures if it's the last thing I do. They'll pay for this, and I won't care if the town goes down with them." Springtrap clenched his fists tightly.

Meanwhile, Thunder and Frank were trying to figure where they would be staying. This time all the hotels were full thanks to many people coming to experience the danger that ironically was actually coming for real. Foxy however had came up with a perfect idea, he had both of them over at Mike's house who was very terrifed. Jeremy was also there laughing.

"Mike, surely ye don't mind giving yer guest room to these two right?" Foxy smirked.

"I CALL THE BED!" Thunder yelled.

"Eh, I like the couch." Frank shrugged.

"Uh...I guess...I mean." Mike studdered.

Foxy got in Mike's face making his eye black.

"Let me repeat that, ye don't MIND giving yer GUEST ROOM to these two...RIGHT?" Foxy bared his fangs.

Seeing that, Jeremy took off running.

"NO! No I don't mind." Mike shook his head.

"Good...well it's getting late I'm going to bed. Screw ye guys I'm going home." Foxy left.

Thunder and Frank race into the house followed by Mike who face-palmed. He was friends with the Fazbear Gang why again? Anyways, as Foxy ran home, he noticed a chopper go by. It reminded him of when he was first captured after biting that man. Cops had surrounded the confrontation between Foxy and the man. Foxy's emotions overpowered his resistance and he bit the man killing him. The cops pounces on Foxy and knocked him out, waking up in the chopper where he made is grand escape back home with a little help from Mangle. The day after they have moved to Striker City.

Foxy got home and saw Chica inside talking to Mangle and Bon Bon.

"Ahoy girls, Chica ye staying here for the night?" Foxy asked hopefully.

"Yeah, if that's okay." Chica said.

"Of course, why wouldn't it be my sweet little chicken?" Foxy grabbed her into a kiss.

Unfortunately that meant Freddy was alone...or was he? As he sat on the couch watching TV while eating a large bowl full of nachos and cheese, he felt that there was someone else in the house with him. He looked around and saw no one there...he also didn't feel like getting up. However, as he turned his head back to the TV, he saw someone he thought he'd never see again.

"WHAT? HOW?" Freddy yelled.

There...standing in front of him...was...Golden staring at him with an evil smile. Freddy thought he was just seeing things and blinked twice, but Golden was still there.

"Golden? Brother? Is that really you? But how?" Freddy put the bowl on the table and stood up.

"Hello Freddy, miss me?" Golden said.

"Maybe." Freddy was too embarrassed to admit it.

"Don't worry, I'm only here to check up on my brother." Golden gritted his teeth.

Freddy something different about him, his golden fur was spikier, his hat and bow-tie were a lighter shade of blue and he now had razor sharp teeth...that creeped Freddy out the most.

"But...you're dead. You shouldn't be here, besides you hate me still." Freddy sighed at that last part.

"Well for one thing I'm a ghost my dear brother. I may be dead but I still can roam around while living in the afterlife...like I did before. I'm honestly still grateful for you recovering my body from that fucker Fredrick." Golden growled at the name.

"Where is he? Shouldn't he be a ghost too, if so, he hasn't haunted any of us." Freddy said.

"Pfft, some people don't get that chance, it's complicated. But trust me, you'll never see him again...unless you got pictures or film." Golden assured.

"Oh okay..."

"But enough about all that...I've heard about more trouble coming to town...looks like you'll be in bigger trouble than before." Golden said.

"Yeah, but besides us and Nette, we've got a new partner...name's Springtrap. He's golden like you...and very powerful, with his help we'll hopefully win." Freddy said.

"Golden you say? My, I've never seen another golden animal before. What's his story?"

"He lost his memory thanks to Fredrick and has been searching for answers so he can get his past back, but that's not working out the way he had planned, he attacked us...but we managed to calm him down and get him to work with us." Freddy explained.

"Interesting...you know...special animals like me and Springtrap have certain abilities that you'll never know unless you tell them a certain situation. Dare I say, help revive someone...only if the person who wishes it wants it too happen. It won't matter what anyone else thinks." Golden smirked.

"But Springtrap used to be completely yellow...then again you did too. As you got older you became gold. It's possible Fredrick sped up Springtrap's development or he was already golden before. Hmm."

"Yeah...it's amazing isn't it?"

Freddy knew his brother too well, Golden wanted to be revived...but only Springtrap could grant that. But Freddy had to think about it, surely the others wouldn't like it...but then again...Freddy thought Golden had changed for the better...maybe.

"Golden...look as much as you treated me like crap, I still love you. But...can I trust you? Me and Bonnie are going through a tough event right now because I broke his heart saying I didn't trust him anymore, but I learned my lesson from that. And it was hard to get Springtrap to trust us." Freddy said.

"It's your decision brother, whether it's while I'm alive or a ghost...I can show you that I'm not what I used to be." Golden said.

Freddy lowered his head and Golden sighed. He felt a little sympathy for Freddy first he loses his brother to insanity...second his cousin to evil...and there was no way Fredrick would show any signs of changing. But Golden was different.

"Freddy...it won't be up to me...it'll be up to you. Even if you don't want me back...I'll be fine." Golden said in a calm tone.

Freddy looked back up at Golden who showed a reassuring smile. They couldn't hug since Golden was a ghost.

"I'll...figure it out." Freddy said.

Golden nodded.

"Have a goodnight brother."

Before Freddy could say anything else, Golden vanished...leaving Freddy alone again...but this time...Freddy felt almost...happy. The next morning, Freddy realized he had fallen asleep on the couch, he heard the doorbell rang.

"COMING!" Freddy yelled.

When he opened the door...the awkwardness came back. There was Bonnie with his suitcase, guitar and boxing gloves behind him. Bonnie had trouble looking directly at Freddy and had his hands behind his back. There was only silence as Freddy made a desperate move to break it.

"...Hey..."

"...Hey..."

"How's it going?"

"...Pretty good..."

"...Yeah..."

"..."

"..."

Freddy could see Bonnie's ears twitching constantly and so was his right eye.

"Well...what do you want?" Freddy asked.

Bonnie heavily sighed and looked into Freddy's eyes.

"I would...like to join the gang again." Bonnie said.

"Are you sure?" Freddy asked.

"Yes...I want to apologize for the fight. I...feel terrible for that. And I promise to follow your orders from now on." Bonnie said.

"..."

"..."

"Well...I don't know..."

Bonnie sighed again knowing what he must do next.

"Freddy, I never thought I would have to do this at any point in my life, never even had to do it for Bon Bon...but here it goes."

Bonnie, being a bunny, could do the certain cute thing that he knew would work. He tilted his head to the side, dropped his ears and made his pupils bigger putting on his most adorable face ever. Needless to say, Freddy was taking the bait.

"Bonnie you're a grown ass bunny, if you think I'm gonna...but...you look so..."

Bonnie's eyes began to sparkle and he grasped his hands together. Freddy couldn't take it anymore and rushed Bonnie.

"COME HERE YOU!"

Freddy grabbed Bonnie into a hug and started to cry.

"I'm so sorry Bonnie! I'm sorry!" Freddy cried.

Bonnie said nothing and held Freddy tight. Chi Chi was coming up the street and smiled when she saw the sight.

"I knew you could do it Bonnie."

Aww...they finally made up. BUT WHAT'S THIS? GOLDEN IS BACK AGAIN? Looks like Freddy may be having second thoughts on keeping Golden dead...hmm. To be honest, the Golden scene was more of a last second thought I wanted to make. In fact I'd much prefer writing more about Golden Freddy than Toy Freddy, I'm just not much a fan of Toy Freddy, same goes for Balloon Boy. TWO MORE CHAPTERS LEFT PEOPLE! JUST 2. Shadow Bonnie and Shadow Freddy are about to unleash their ultimate assault. WILL THE FAZBEAR GANG TRIUMPH OVER THEM? STAY TUNED!
