Jerome looked expectantly at his girlfriend. "Mara, whose is it?" He asked her, his voice dangerously calm.
Recognising the warning signs that Jerome was giving, Mara curled back into her mother's protective arms. "Jerome, calm down." Mara whimpered.
Trudy, sweet and calm through to the core, said "Jerome, if you're angry, I suggest you go to your room to cool off."
"I just want to know whose baby my girlfriend is going to have." He told her, his blue eyes flashing.
Mara whimpered "Yours! The baby is yours, Jerome! Remember when we were on holiday? In Rio? That's when! I've been loyal, Jerome."
Jerome softly whispered "Come here, Mara."
She walked over slowly. Jerome reached out and picked her up, twirling her around. She squealed "Put me down!"
He laughed and kissed her cheeks. "You realise you're even more beautiful now, right?"
Jasper glared at the boy where his wife was smiling so widely, her face looked like it would split in half. Mara snuggled up to Jerome. Jasper snarled "You hurt her, boy, I'll kill you."
"Received and understood, sir." Jerome smiled, hugging his girlfriend.
"Jasper, come on, let's leave our little lovebirds alone." Trudy smiled, pushing on her husband gently one handed, carrying their son with the other.
As soon as her parents were out of the way, Mara softly kissed Jerome. "You'll never guess what."
He brushed a kiss on Mara's lips. "Tell me what."
"I called the doctor this morning. I told him not to show us the screen and to tell Mum that no matter what, there is only one. Jerome, you're going to have twin boys." She smiled at him, her eyes glowing.
At that precise moment, Victor walked in. "What did you say, Mara Jaffray?"
