Fireworks
Seto watched the beautiful blues and purples of the night sky explode with flashes of reds, yellows, and oranges. It wasn't even July anymore, it was September, yet here they were – beautiful fireworks shot into the air before exploding into the pretty reds, yellows, and sometimes white.
They've been going on forever, 10 days since the first of September, starting at nine o' clock and ending at twelve in the morning. Seto sighed, smiling when the fireworks ended. Sure, he was losing valuable sleep, but who could miss such a lovely sight?
It always brought a smile to his heart, unlike the usual fireworks on July the 4th. Too many colors in his opinion, but these were just right every time they were sent off into the air.
The sorcerer had called Adam, Ty, and everyone else he knew, wondering if they too could see the fireworks from where they lived. Only Ty could; probably because he lived in the wilderness with Seto – he wasn't that far from his house.
Seto kept the smile on his face, standing up from the ground before dusting off loose pieces of grass and dirt from his pants and cape. He turned around, staring at the front door, and, with a snap of his fingers, the door opened as if he was pushing it.
Sleep is for the weak…until after 12 AM.
"Yeah! I can't wait. See you soon!" Seto chimed into the phone in his hands, taking it away from his ear and pressing a button. A soft smile appeared on the sorcerer's face as he placed the phone back on the charger that came with it.
Ty was coming over tonight to watch the fireworks with him, even if it was going to be chilly outside.
At first, Seto was going to find the source of the fireworks, maybe even try to converse with the owner…but that could wait.
Seto walked into the kitchen down the hallway to the left. He would never admit it to anyone but Ty, but he was a pretty good cook. "2… maybe 3 potatoes, salt, pepper, vegetable oil," Seto listed off, checking things off the mental recipe in his head.
Every ingredient he said out loud was being pulled out of their original placed in the cabinets by purple and silver tendrils of magic – being placed along the counters until needed. A kitchen knife flew towards the sorcerer and he easily grabbed it without flinching, spinning the sharp utensil like it was a toy.
A spruce cutting board appeared in front of him on the table, a potato falling gently on top.
Seto let out a sigh of relief, 24 big chunks/squares/triangles/whatever you would call it of potato(es) laying on a paper towel on a paper plate. They had been fried in vegetable oil for a few seconds, salt and pepper sprinkled lightly over them afterwards before being dipped in to brown sugar and cinnamon.
Seto smiled at his creation, washing his hands in the sink. It was the very first recipe he ever made when he was bored of frozen food, and frankly, he and Ty always drooled when he made them.
Ding, Ding-Dong went the doorbell. The sorcerer jumped, drying his hands before rushing to the door. "Coming!" Seto exclaimed, his hand on the doorknob. The door swung open with ease when he pulled, a wild Ty grabbing him and pulling him into a hug.
The sorcerer laughed, hugging the ginger back. His hood accidentally fell off from the sudden pull, but he didn't care – Ty had already seen the bandages on his forehead long before. A hand found its way to Seto's messy brown hair, ruffling it into an even bigger mess. "I've missed you, dood," Ty said, letting go of Seto.
"I've missed you too, Ty," Seto breathed out, letting go and stepping away from the door. Ty gave Seto one of his heart warming smiles as he stepped inside with a bag on his back. The blanket is probably in there, Seto thought.
Seto's smile turned into a sly smirk as he watched Ty take a deep breath – holding it for a second before exhaling. "I know that smell anywhere, Seto," he sighed, turning his head to the side so he could see the sorcerer's grinning face. "Good!" Seto chimed.
Seto shivered slightly, cuddling close to Ty and the fuzzy blanket as a cool breeze flew by. Ty chuckled, wrapping an arm around the sorcerer's shoulders before pulling him closer.
Just when the two thought they were probably a bit early, a light shot through the sky – exploding into reds and yellows. The two gasped, fascinated as they watched the colorful explosions of the light show while snacking on Seto's dessert experiment.
Yup, Setolox fluff. I had a completely different idea, but it turned into this. Also you Whovians out there, did you find my cunning reference?
Anways! Hey guys, I'm not dead! School was just an absolute pain, having 4-5 projects to do and P.E last hour didn't exactly help. But hey! School will be out on Thursday so I will be able to update stories a TON!
I am prepared, my children –creepy voice-. I have tons of chapters of Ridge's Child ready to be microsofted and documented, and I have new ideas flowing through my brain because I recently watched Narnia and Nemo. –Thank You Mythology-
I can't wait to see you all after Thursday! :D -Lack
