Deanna/Caleb

always a girl Dean

21 – "I don't even know your name."

Caleb Bailey got his cock sucked splendidly at a party by a beautiful blonde with green eyes. She caught his eye as she was doing the same to another fellow at the same party. It was one of those kinds of parties. While he was watching a brunette bounce on his cock later that night, it was the shape of the blonde's tits that came to mind. The way his, if he did say so himself, impressive cock managed to disappear between them before her mouth had burned him.

He left the party early to attend to a problem with a gremlin at the airport. The party had just been part of his alibi as he was new to town and it would have been easy to put him in the hot seat if anyone saw something when he set fire to the shed with the gremlin inside. When he returned to the party, he'd had to settle for the brunette. Well, the brunette had other attributes that more than made up for not being blonde or green-eyed.

Four days later he thought he saw her in the grocery store but she glanced at him, past him and didn't even display the slightest bit of recognition. She looked a bit older than he thought she'd been at the party but it was dark and everyone had been drinking a lot. He honestly didn't know what she looked like without a cock in her mouth.

The next time he saw her, it was in line at the post office. He smiled at her. She smiled and turned away, still no recognition. He caught her on the way out. "Hey… uh… I think we met last month."

"We did?" She slid the strap of her purse up her shoulder, arms crossed under her tits… which seemed a bit smaller.

"At Duck's party."

"What the hell is a duck party?" She shook her head at him. "I think you've got me confused for someone else."

"I'm plenty sure it was you." He hazarded the chance.

"I really don't think so." She turned and walked away. He caught the glint of a wedding ring on her right hand.

Caleb groaned and went home to jack off to the memory of those sweet naked tits sliding against his cock before her mouth had slid over him, hot and wet. Then he got showered and ready to hunt out a bogey in the nearby dumping ground. It wasn't a proper swamp but it had come close with all the shit out there allowing the water to gather and fester.

He had to go home and shower again. Then he found out Duck was having another party. He got there a little early and got a good buzz going while he watched the doors. He winked at the brunette he'd banged the last time. She remembered him and tilted her head at him as she walked past to get to the keg. When he'd about given up, the blonde stumbled in with a bunch of other girls. They had started their party elsewhere. He waited until he was sure it was her before he made his approach. Her eyes widened and she grabbed the nearest friend. "There he is!"

He froze when he heard that. He wasn't sure how he was supposed to take that. Her friend spun and looked him over. She leaned toward him. "Is it really as big as she says it is?"

He grinned and took both girls by the hand. A dark room and a locked door. Both girls sucked him off and he got to bang the blonde, finally. There wasn't a lot of talking. The sex was better than he'd hoped. When she reached for her blouse, he caught her around the waist. "Come home with me. We can do more of this."

"Can't. Already been out too late." She slipped her tongue into his mouth and stole all his protests. "I'm always at Duck's parties. Missed you at the last one."

"I don't even know your name."

"Deanna." She groaned into his mouth.

"Caleb."

"Nice to meet you, Caleb." She slid her hand against his penis. "We will meet again."

"Yes, we will."

The brunette gave Deanna a nasty look when they ran into her in the hallway. Deanna pushed past her. Caleb tried not to get caught up in the meaning of the look. He remembered he forgot to get her number and then he lost her in the crowds in the house. He couldn't find her in the main rooms. He walked through the den but didn't recognize any of the girls on their knees.

The next time he saw her, he was the one on his knees until she was screaming. That time she actually went home with him to finish up where no one would see them. She left her number when she snuck out sometime after he passed out. Then it was all about skipping Duck's parties and getting wasted and laid at his place. Sometimes, her friend came over and a good time was had by all.

Then he saw her while he was grabbing lunch. That's when he realized the person he thought she was before was not her. She smiled at him as she walked passed him. Her companion looked a lot like her. Older sister maybe. They sat down across the way. Caleb couldn't take his eyes off her. She flirted a bit but slyly. It was strange seeing her in the daylight but she was even more beautiful.

When her companion got up to go the bathroom, Deanna slid over across from him and leaned over to kiss his mouth. "Oh, so I am here, with you, in public."

"Yes… but we can't let her find out." She pointed behind her.

"Are you ashamed of me? Am I dirty little secret?"

"Close. I'm not supposed to be… out so much. I'm on a quest to get my degree. Men get in the way."

"Do we?"

"Well, when I spend as much time in bed as we do…" She kissed his mouth again. "I'm coming over tonight."

"Really."

"Yeah, and then we'll both be coming." She cupped his face and gave him one more long kiss before she slid back into her own chair. Her companion came back and they finished eating and walked out past Caleb. Deanna ran her hand along his arm on her way. That kept him buzzing for the rest of the day. He got the sheets changed, the weapons stowed and the liquor cabinet refreshed.

After the wild and dirty sex, Caleb lit a cigarette and she stole it. He lit another one for himself. "Who was that woman you were with today?"

"My mom." Deanna snickered. "She's so old she forgot what it's like to be young."

He laughed at her. "Oh yeah? Was she some wild child?"

"Well, she got my dad to fuck her at least twice. She had to have been hot shit."

"She's pretty hot now." Caleb commented and got an elbow in the ribs for his effort. "What? She's hot. I'd do her."

"She's old."

"Maybe but she's hot enough I thought she was you a couple of times."

"But she's a hundred."

"What is she? 40?"

"Ew. Dude. Seriously."

"Well, you look like her. And you're hot."

"But I'm 20. I'm supposed to be hot." She straddled him and pulled on her cigarette. "Take it back or I'll never fuck you again."

"Alright. I take it back. I think your mother looks like a thousand year old hag."

"Much better." She reached over to ash the cigarette, and he cupped the swaying breasts as she did so. "God, you're obsessed."

"These are some amazing tits." He stubbed out his cigarette and held her hips against him.

"You think you're ready again?" She took one last pull and put her cigarette out. "Let's see if I can make your eyes cross this time."

During one long day of sex, the pounding at the door interrupted things. Caleb was a hair away from coming and the pounding was distracting. Deanna squeezed him and he shot his load. He let himself catch his breath before he got up to answer the door, sweaty and sticky and naked. "What?"

"You Caleb Bailey?" The middle-aged man and a teenager stood there. The boy looked away so fast his head nearly spun off.

"Yeah."

"John Winchester, my boy Sam. We're told you do what we do."

Caleb had to switch gears. "Maybe. Appointments only."

"We're in a rush and we're told you have some knowledge. We need 15 minutes of your time."

"15 and that's it. I'm busy."

"We can see that." Sam replied, eyes on the sky.

Caleb motioned them in. "Just let me get some clothes on." He strode back to his room where Deanna was hair-mussed and rosy and inviting. "I got some work to do. 15 minutes and we'll get back to business." He washed up and found some clothes. "Just… stay in here."

"Okay… I'll be thinking about you." She bit her lip and turned so he could see her fingers sliding between her legs.

Caleb shut the door and listened to Winchester and his boy explain the problem. It was more than a 15 minute fix. He talked and found books and his eyes kept drifting to his bedroom.

"If we're boring you…" Winchester started.

"Hey! You came asking for my help. I'm busy. I could be doing other things." Caleb bit out. "I told you, make an appointment if you want to take your time. You said 15 minutes and it's been twice that." He took a breath and flexed his hands against the back of a chair. "No. You can't go on a hunt like this and I won't have whoever sent you thinking I do."

"This window is real small." Winchester pointed out.

"Yeah, yeah. I know." Caleb stared at the books. "I can't let you do this. I can do this." He sat and made a list. "We do this together. We do it tomorrow night. You gather the supplies exactly how I outline and you meet me here before you go. Each of you will have to make time to read this book or else you don't go."

"Why should I listen to you?"

"You want your manly pride to be the reason your son doesn't live to see 18? You will listen to me." Caleb handed him the list. "Who sent you?"

"A man named Campbell."

"Fucking…" Caleb held it in. "Okay. Okay. I'll see you tomorrow."

"You see, boy. You work hard, you get to play hard." Winchester clapped his son on the shoulder as the boy took the books and lists in hand.

"And it's real work. It don't come easy and there are no skipping steps." Caleb held the door open.

"Go easy on that girl with that elephant trunk." Winchester took his boy and left and Caleb thought he heard the kid ask what his dad had meant. Caleb had to clean up the mess before he got back to Deanna. Hunting had ruined a lot of good things. He'd be damned if it ruined this before it had run its course. Deanna stayed later than she normally did. She was going through his closet and picking out a comfortable shirt to wrap herself in when he came to from his latest nap. She could only get the buttons on her belly to close. She disappeared into the kitchen and returned with two sandwiches. She gave him one and sat on the bed to eat hers. Hefty sandwiches, too.

They got in one more round before she had to go. She wanted to see him the next day but he'd promised that to the Winchester morons. He got what sleep he could after she left. Then he woke up and got his shit together to run the hunt. It took two days and they almost didn't make it. He called Campbell and cursed the man out, which made Campbell laugh but the man was also surprised at what a good hunter Winchester turned out to be. The man was a soldier and quick on his feet. The boy was a good study and careful.

He put away his gear, got a shower and into bed. When he woke up, Deanna was sitting on the end of his bed in her birthday suit. This time the two day fuckathon went off without a hitch. This time he dropped her off at school before he went on his way to his day job. Duck stopped in and asked where he'd been. He'd just smiled and said he'd taken one of Duck's hotties off the market. Duck cursed and leaned on the counter to ask which one. Caleb only had the first name but it was enough. Duck had wondered where she got off to. Duck's big fat lips were twisted into a frown when he took his hardware and left.

It was a gradual thing. She learned his last name when she'd used his credit card to pay for dinner one night. He found hers stitched into an old cheerleading sweater she'd had slung over her shoulder another night. She'd bring her book bag or gym bag and leave it behind. She'd do laundry between fucking, his and her own. Her yogurt ended up in the fridge. She brought flowers into his house. Left a toothbrush behind. Took over a drawer in his dresser. Then he realized it'd been six months that they had been fucking exclusively. Finals was crazy. She brought her books and studied any time he passed out.

When her mom found out, it wasn't pretty. They had it out on the lawn of his shitty little rental and he tried to step between them but he had no idea how fierce Deanna was and that she'd gotten it from her mother. The neighbors just watched. It wasn't uncommon in the neighborhood for two blondes to duke it out in public. He'd ended up firing a gun in the yard to stop them. He swore Deanna's mom looked ready to pull a gun on him for that stunt but she'd jumped in her truck and peeled out. Deanna cried herself to sleep.

Caleb made coffee. Watched her drink. Deanna sniffed and kept her eyes on the cup. "She wasn't always like that. When I was a kid, she was my hero. I thought she looked like Cinderella and dad was her handsome prince… She used to have these huge fights with my dad… he'd leave and then he'd come back and everything was fine again... When I was really little, the house caught on fire and the fights got worse and worse. They split up. I've got a brother somewhere, but I never see him. Dad either. She's always on my ass to be like… normal. I don't even know what she means. Because of her, I was a cheerleader and on debate team. I wanted to take martial arts. I wanted to work on cars. She said it was abnormal. So… I did what she said and I fucked everybody while I did it. She hates that… so I keep doing it."

She sniffed and ran her fingers around her cup. "And then I met you and your big cock and I just couldn't get enough. I kept coming back and… I did anything and everything to keep you, even things I don't normally do..." She cleared her throat. "I'm not a swinging gate. She is… she… helped me."

"Sweetie, you… are enough. We've had fun and funner and funnest but fun is just fine." Caleb touched her arm. "I'm a 30 year old bald man and I'm fucking a 20 year old. I'm pretty damn lucky."

"Sometimes, I wish she was dead. I wish he'd taken me with him. I hate my life. I hate college. The only good parts are the parts with you."

"Why don't you just tell her that?"

"You saw how she was when she figured out where I was instead of being in school."

"I don't have folks. They were killed when I was young." He took a breath. "I haven't been all that up front about what I do… with you… aside from the hours I do at the hardware store."

"Are you a hit man? Leslie, my friend with the great ass… she thinks you're a hit man."

"No. Not a hit man." He shook his head.

"Well, that's an amazing rifle collection. It's almost as big as my grandfather's." She gestured.

"I hunt."

"Game?"

"Bigger." He shrugged. "It's a thing I do. There are… monsters, creatures that terrorize. I take 'em out. Like an exterminator."

Deanna went silent. "Not people."

"No." He could see it in her face. She didn't really want to know.

"Alright." She nodded. "Then it's good. My folks were all up in each other's business. It killed them. I miss my dad and my brother so much."

"Then don't throw Mom out. She's the only one you got."

It took some talking and strong words but Caleb drove Deanna home for the first time and stepped inside the house to have a conversation with Mrs. Campbell. The three of them sat and Mary Campbell's cold green eyes burned through him as he explained about his feelings for Deanna and Deanna tried to explain how she felt but nothing seemed to get through to the matriarch. Finally Mary cut them off. "Deanna has an opportunity that no one in her entire family has ever had. A college education. She will graduate before she becomes a teacher or lawyer or baby factory. That much is clear. She will live here and she will finish school."

Caleb looked at Deanna and nodded. "You're right. She should graduate and this isn't about that."

"Caleb." Deanna grabbed his arm.

"I don't want to step on any toes but I love her. She loves me. She's still in school. She'll stay in school. She'll try."

"Caleb." Deanna hit him and stormed off.

"I'm glad we see eye to eye." Mary cleared her throat. "She's hot headed. Takes after her father."

"She talks a lot about how she misses him."

"Well… he's had his opportunities. He's not especially good at the fathering parts. I shudder to think how my son suffers with him."

"She hasn't seen either, at all?"

"No. Me either. I heard they were in town last summer. They didn't even stop by. Didn't call." She shook her head. "Deanna is all I have. John's family were all blue collar workers and my family… doesn't have a good job history. Deanna is going to make it. She's immature and belligerent but she can do it. She is smart even if she pretends to be stupid to find men like you."

"She's never pretended to be stupid with me."

"No, but you met her at a party. I remember you eying me at the post office. I don't forget a face. I need her feet on the ground."

"The message is clear. I'm not going to stop seeing her but I will make sure she comes home."

"Alright."

Caleb stood and started to leave. "She's amazing, you know. She wants a lot of things and she stops herself because… you won't like it. She gets away with things because you let her… until now."

"I know how she's been plowed by the nearest five football teams." Mary lit a cigarette. "She's a charmer. Gets it from her father. There's not a dry pussy in the house when he's around. I knew from the time she got those damned tits that there was no reigning it in… but you… you're not like the harmless boys she fucks to get a rise out of me."

"No. I'm the one that actually did it."

"You remind me a little too much of her father… except for the hair. Her daddy had a gorgeous head of hair."

It worked for a while. Deanna went to school. She fucked him on the weekends. Caleb did his hunts during the week. Sometimes, he left a book out and he found her reading it when they came up for air. She was a quick study at what he did. They spent her 21st birthday in a drunken frenzy of Duck's party, a little fist fight with the brunette, marathon fucking in his house on every surface. Then in the morning, Caleb whipped together some bloody maries with some hair of the dog. They nursed hangovers on his couch until it was time to shower and have lunch with her mother.

Mary looked over Deanna's knuckles and sighed. "Brenda?"

"She's had it coming since the fifth grade." Deanna shrugged. "She's lucky I put it off this long."

"I didn't raise you to fight."

"I was the daughter of divorce. I learned to fight early." Deanna countered.

"She's got a mean left look." Caleb commented. "Brenda? She dove right into the carpet, didn't get up again."

"She had it coming." Deanna repeated. "She's evil. Who cares she got to you a split second before I did."

"After? It was once. Just once." Caleb admitted. "I didn't know your name yet… and I never learned hers."

"Makes me so proud." Mary knocked back her glass of wine.

"I'm the clear winner her. I got you." Caleb kissed her hand. She smiled at him and then gagged and ran from the room.

"Celebration got too wild?" Mary poured herself another glass.

"We're both pretty wretched today."

"I was pregnant with her when I was 21. Her daddy and I spent the day in bed." A small smile crossed her face. "I'm glad she feels something for someone while it's worth it. I was 25 when he left me and took my son. Still, the good memories are really good."

"That was gross." Deanna made her way back to the table and sipped water the rest of the meal. It was up to Caleb to supply the conversation. He held back. Mary held back. Deanna dozed against his side. Mary helped him get her to her bed. It had all the stages of a girl about to leave home in all the years she'd been alive.

"I envy her." Mary touched the blonde locks. "She's all the worst of the both of her parents and she finds love while she's so young… and has the balls to fight for it. Not sure I was ever that young."

"Me either." Caleb offered her a tight smile and let himself out of the house.

The good times kept coming. Caleb conceded another drawer and built a shelf in the bathroom for the hair products. The fuckathons were of the slow and intense variety. Getting wasted was not necessary. He loved waking up early to find the sun rising on her skin. He could breathe in the scent of her sweat between those beautiful breasts forever. Deanna liked to run her hands over his head when he had a day's worth of stubble going. "You're a goon."

"Why?"

"Your head is always stuck between my tits."

"Where do you want me to stick it?" He kissed her mouth and wrapped her legs around him.

"Would we be together if we hadn't met at Duck's?"

"I don't know." He looked into her face. "The moment I saw you, I wanted to be next to you. Then you came over to me… I almost stopped you but I figured it was my only shot and I'd let you do whatever you wanted. I figured you'd tease me and run off leaving me hot and bothered… but you took off that shirt and kissed me and you got on your knees. I thought I'd died and gone to heaven."

"That's no easy feat."

"But you handle it so well." Even as the words were out of his mouth, he let his mind run to all the places of doubt. "I ever hurt you?"

"No. Took some getting used to but you don't hurt me." She smiled and kissed his mouth. "But I believe I'm ruined for anyone else."

"Ditto." She ran her hands over his head and pushed him back onto the bed. "Ow."

"Mom keeps asking how we met." She held his hands over his head.

"Well, don't tell her how we really met. First time I saw you, you were sucking off Duck."

She laughed. "I had just come from the bathroom, mouthwash… and I saw you sitting in the den with a beer. You were staring at Brenda and I always have to win."

"What is your deal with her?"

"Her mom went to school with my mom and my mom got dad instead of her mom and she was taught to hate me. I'm usually kind of chill with assholes but in the fifth grade… I started wearing a bra and she told everyone that I got my boobs because I was a whore."

"Wow."

"Yeah. The thing went around school and my boobs didn't just slowly come in. Fifth grade was the training bra and sixth grade was the real deal with cleavage. Boys… zoned in and girls flapped their jaws. I had to lay a couple of beat downs to get left alone."

"And then the war started?"

"Yeah. Any guy I had my eye on, she had to get to first. Any guy I already had, she had to steal." She made a face at him.

"Okay. I get it now." Caleb nodded to her. "I saw you before I saw her. You and I had fun and then I left. When I came back, I couldn't find you… and she talked me into a room… and I pretended I was with you."

"What?"

"Yeah. I couldn't finish, so… I saw these in my head… and I finished." He cupped her breasts that seemed heavier in his hands than usual. "The next time I went to Duck's… I waited for you."

"You did."

"I had to get a buzz going so I could go over. I was afraid I was too old and bald for lightning to strike twice."

"You are so sexy and…. Mysterious… I wouldn't have gone back for seconds if it was just about getting one over on Brenda." She blushed and took a breath. "It's so weird talking about this now that we've been together so long but… I talked about you to Leslie for weeks after that night we met and when I saw you… I was so embarrassed about pointing you out that I panicked and when you reached for the both of us… I was afraid you wanted Leslie instead."

"Really?"

"But then… you reached for me and it was like you forgot she was there."

"I did. She has a great ass and she didn't handle me as well as you did." He winced when she pinched his underarm.

"You are a lot to handle… So…. What do you want to tell people?"

"We met a party. I saw you from across the room and I knew instantly, I wanted to know you."

"Um…" She smiled and turned her words over in her head. "I saw you from across the room and I had to kiss you before you disappeared."

"Sounds good." He nodded. "We'll never tell anyone it was one of Duck's sex parties."

"Never." She agreed and sat up. "Let's go out. Eat in public. Like a real people."

"Okay." He nodded.

"We'll fuck in the shower and then we'll go." Caleb watched her jump off the bed and bounce into the bathroom to get the water going. He knew right then, he was going to marry her.

When she came down with a stomach bug, she didn't show up for a while. He understood. She called him and he chatted while he worked on this or that. She showed up one weekend and fell asleep in his bed. He watched over her and kept the trashcans nearby. No sex. Barely any company kept. He got soup in her and held her at night while she sweat and vomited.

Then she just didn't get better. Caleb carried her home and sat with her until her mother got home. Mom took over and Caleb left to get to work. He didn't hear anything for days. He was on his way out to find her when Sam Campbell pounded on his door. Caleb let him in. "Look, man. I gotta go, whatever you need, just grab it."

"You're the young man who knocked up my granddaughter?"

"What?" Caleb stopped.

"I've known you… a good 15 years, son. My daughter is screaming at me that some asshole lives on this block knocked up our little Deanna. Is that you?"

"She's pregnant?" Caleb sank down on to the couch. "Deanna is your granddaughter?"

"Jesus Christ, Caleb. She's a girl."

"Sam… I didn't know. Campbell's one of those names."

"You're lucky I know you. Get going. Her daddy's on his way and he's not going to take into account your specialties nor my granddaughter's proclivities." Sam waved off Caleb's next protest. "I'm fully aware of the little chit's fondness for Duck's parties. I had to forbid the boys from going, just in case."

"But… Deanna doesn't know about hunting."

"She's knows but she doesn't know." Sam picked a few books off the shelf. "Mary's been adamant that her family doesn't hunt… thing is… that husband of hers found it all on his own. Been raising our boy Sammy in it his whole life. Mary's kept Deanna in the dark." He browsed the weapons and tucked a few away. "John… is particular. I can't stand him. Never could. Mary took her name back but I'm not sure if they officially divorced. We've all gone along with the plan. Deanna doesn't hunt. Thing is… she's a Campbell. Through and through. Mary says she takes after John but she's all Mary all over again. Rebelling just cause she can."

"So… her daddy?" Caleb took a breath to absorb all that. "Who is this guy?"

"His name is Winchester."

"Fuck me." Caleb buried his face in his hands. "Fuck."

"You've met him?"

"You know I have. You fuckin' sent him to me." Caleb glared at the old man, who started laughing. "He's raw but he's good and… he was fucking… he was here when I had Deanna in the back."

"Did he know she was here?"

"No but he knew I had someone here. I answered the door, naked."

"Caleb!" He heard his name from the street. Deanna was still wearing the hospital gown and bracelet. She came rushing in. "Everyone is freaking out but I am fine."

"Hey sweetie." Sam nodded to her.

"Grandpa?"

"He told me." Caleb told her and wrapped her in his arms.

"I didn't know. Mom's pissed and blabbing." She turned to Sam. "Grandpa…"

"I'm well aware of what happens between men and women. I would like more family business in this child." Sam picked up his bounty to head for the door.

It burst open and Caleb gently pushed Deanna aside. The bearded man walked right up to him and Caleb lifted his chin. The fist slamming into his face was the last thing he remembered for nearly a day. He woke in the hospital with arguing going on outside the room.

"Of course they're getting married. He knocked her up." A voice boomed.

"He's a hunter. A God damned hunter." Mary's voice rose. "I'll be damned if she marries that life."

"It's your life, Mary. You got us all into this life. She's gone and got herself knocked up by that… he's going to fucking marry her. I'll make sure of it."

"Dad?"

"Oh, baby." His voice softened.

"I love him. He loves me. I just… I didn't even get to tell him myself. You and Mom are fighting. Again. You hit him so hard and… the table was right there. What were you thinking?" Deanna sniffed and Caleb could tell she was scrubbing her hands over her face. "Is that Sammy?"

"John, she's got to get an abortion. She has to finish school and she's not going to see him again."

"I don't like that at all."

"Why doesn't everyone shut up and ask Deanna what she wants?" A teenage voice cracked.

"I'm old enough to vote and drink. I… I'm not sure school is for me. I'm not sure about being anything. I am sure that if we could have held it together for a little bit, I could have talked to Caleb about it. Jesus. He hit his head so hard." She sniffed loudly. "I won't make any decision about anything until I talk to Caleb."

"Hey Dad, isn't that the guy with the huge dong?"

"Shut up, Sam."

Deanna was standing in the doorway when Caleb opened his eyes. She was wearing one of his shirts over one of his tank tops. She still had the hospital bracelet on her arm. "Caleb?"

"Yeah. I'm still in here."

She rushed to his side and examined his eyes and the bump on his head. "I've been so worried. My whole family is out there."

"You get your left hook from your father." He rubbed his jaw. He stared up at her. "You're pregnant?"

"That's why I've been so sick. My hormones were out of whack cause I was on birth control. They think things will be okay but I… if we have the baby, I have to see the doctor a lot."

"If?" He stroked her face.

"Do you want a baby?" She asked softly.

"Only if it's yours."

"Mom doesn't want me to have it and Dad says I have to and that you have to marry me and I just want them all to go away."

"Okay. Let's go clean house." Caleb tried to sit up, the world spun. Together they moved to the doorway. Caleb cleared his throat. "Alright everybody. I'm fine. You all don't have to stay."

"Deanna, let's go." Mary grabbed her purse.

"Actually… Deanna and I have to have a talk and we would like some privacy to do it." Caleb kept his arm around Deanna.

"John. Do something." Mary slapped John's arm.

"I'm in favor of the man doing some talking as long as it ends with rings." John crossed his arms.

Sam Campbell raised his hands. "Alright folks. We've overstayed our welcome. Caleb, I'm still borrowing the books. Mary, get John and Sam to some beds. Deanna is staying. This is a family discussion and like it or not, Deanna's definition of family has been redefined."

"Thank you, Grandpa." Deanna gave him a smile but stayed right where she was. When everyone was gone, Caleb sat on the bed and Deanna sat next to him. "Why do both your folks still wear their rings if they're divorced?"

"Grandma says it's because… they never stopped loving each other. They just stopped being able to agree on things." Deanna shrugged. "Mom doesn't date. She's a downright bitch to anyone who tries."

"I hunted with your dad once. He wasn't… too keen on picking up the ladies. Don't know him well though." He looked at her. "Well? I want the baby. Do you?"

"Yes." She nodded.

"Okay then."

She slipped her hands into his. "Are you mad?"

"No."

"Really?"

"Never done this before. It'll be an adventure."

"Grandpa told me about the hunting while you were out. I can't believe no one told me."
