Turf Wars Chapter 17 (Jet-Droy-Cobra: Acceptance)

Sorry it's been awhile, school got a little busy and as I near the end of the semester it'll only get worse. However, I am going to try and finish the story this week since along with this chapter, there are only three left. Although this chapter will probably be the shortest. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy and I am sorry for the long breaks in between chapters, I know how frustrating that can be. So enjoy and remember I own nothing.

….

"You would be a shitty boyfriend to Levy," Jet yelled, causing cobra to flinch, his ears ready to burst.

"No you would be the shitty boyfriend," Droy called back as the two teens eyes each other dangerously as the three climbed the mountain path.

"You're delusional!" Jet called back, crossing his arms.

"And you're stupid!" Droy yelled back in defense, crossing his arms as well.

"Finally some peace and quiet," Cobra muttered as he wiggled his finger in his ear to get rid of the itch it had.

"I bet you can't even plan a good date for her," Droy whispered just loud enough for Jet to hear.

"Like hell I don't!" the tall teen called back before he went into a long winded description of what type of date he would take Levy on.

Cobra growled and stuffed his earbuds into his ears before turning his music up. He was not sitting through detention for the rest of year.

As the day wore on, the love rivals had finally shut up, only occasionally bickering, but more quietly this time. Cobra had been able to remove his earbuds and not get a headache from the two which he counted as a plus. So when they were about to start up again, he quickly put them in their place, for the sake of his sanity and ears.

"The only reason she talks to you is because she feels sorry for you," Jet started.

As Droy opened his mouth to respond Cobra snapped. Turned around and stomping back to the two he yelled, "The only reason she talked to either of you is because she feels sorry for you two. You're both pathetic dumbasses that don't understand what the word 'no' means! For the sake of all that is holy, I am a delinquent and even I know what the word 'no' means. I usually ignore it, but never when it comes to girl. She doesn't like either of you as anything more that friends, if that. So pull your heads out of your asses and get it through your thick heads that neither of you have a chance, especially since she like Gajeel and he likes her," the red head fumed as he turned back around started stomping off up the mountain again.

The two boys stood there for a second, letting his words sink in as their faces fell.

"She really does like him then?" Jet asked as he strode behind Cobra. "Gajeel?"

"You have to be blind to not notice," he grumbled back.

"And you're sure he likes her back?" Droy asked.

"Yeah, I live next to him and I overhear him and his roommate yelling at each other all the time about it. The only reason he hasn't made a move yet is because of Erza. But after this, they'll hook up no doubt."

The two let out a sigh as they looked at each other, a silent apology for the hurtful words they exchanged crossing between them.

"Speak of the damn devils," the red head said suddenly as he came to a stop.

Jet and Droy peaked their heads around the corner to see what Cobra was talking about. There stood Levy and Gajeel at the mouth of a cave, their faces red. The three boys watched as the two headed up the mountain path toward the peak. Cobra was off as soon as he saw how close they were to the top, refusing to not be first. But Jet and Droy hung back long enough to see Gajeel grab Levy's ass.

The two let out a sad smile. "It's her choice in the end, even if it isn't one of us," Jet said as he broke into a jog to catch up with Cobra, Droy following.
