Chapter 19 – The End
Okay, so I really just feel like finishing this story and not doing more calculus homework, so here ya go.
….
"Suck it bitches!" Cobra called as she danced around, some of Cana's beer in his hand. "I won the competition, no more detention for me," he sung, rubbing it in everyone's face.
"WE, we won," Jet corrected him, but to no avail, Cobra was having none of it.
"Just because you are free from detention doesn't mean you are free from all rules. Like the one you are breaking now by drinking underage," the principal growled. He was happy that everyone had resolved their differences, but did it have to be him that won.
"I don't even care right now," Cobra kept singing as he headed over to the cooler to grab another drink.
The old man let out a sigh. He wasn't going to turn him, or any of them. After all, some of them did almost die.
By the time the last team had gotten to the top of the mountain it was almost sunset, so they all just decided to camp out on the beach and head back in the morning. And so, all the students, Erza, Mira, the principal and Laxus were sitting around a giant campfire roasting s'mores.
"Hey, can we talk?" Sting said as he leaned into Lisanna as she was roasting her marshmallow.
"Sure, let me finish this real quick," she said, pulling the white fluff from the fires and placing it on the gram cracker before adding the chocolate and top to it.
The two stood up and walked over a little ways from the group, sitting down on the cold sand, burying their toes in it.
"So what's up?" the teen asked as she took a bite of her s'more, and offering the blonde a bite as well.
Sting shock his head, turning down the treat. He already had more than he probably should've had. He let out a sigh before pressing on. "I wanna break up."
Lisanna chocked on her s'more. After some more chewing she swallowed and looked at Sting's face. "Why? Did something happen?"
"We both know what happened," he said, looking at her with a sad smile. "You fell in love with Natsu, and he with you."
Lisanna looked from Sting's face then to the campfire, where Natsu sat, having an argument with Gray.
"I'm sorry," she said, turning back toward Sting. "I didn't want it to happen."
He wrapped his arm around her shoulder and she leaned into him. They sat there for a couple minutes, the campfire treat forgotten. Lisanna moved her hands, undoing the clasp of the necklace Sting gave her and placed it in his palm with a sad smile. "Thank you, for everything," she said, kissing him on his cheek before heading back to the campfire.
The silver haired sister walked back and sat down next to Levy and Lucy, grabbing another marshmallow to roast.
Levy picked up on her sad look and nudged her a little. When she looked at her friend, the bluenette smiled. "When one door closes another opens," she said.
"What are you talking about?" Lisanna asked.
"Natsu just broke up with me," Lucy said as she came and sat down next to Lisanna. "He's all yours."
"Are you sure? I don't want to make anything awkward?" Lisanna asked.
"You'll be making it awkward by not being with him," Lucy replied.
"Thank you, very much. If you want, Sting is all yours," she smiled.
"I'll think about," the blonde said eyeing the other blonde who was talking with Rouge.
With that Lisanna got up and walked over to Natsu, sitting down beside him. The pink haired teen stopped his arguing with Grey and looked over at her, smiling his signature ear to ear grin.
"Your marshmallows on fire, Shrimp," Gajeel said sitting next to Levy who was too busy watching Natsu and Lisanna.
"What? Oh no!" the small girl cried as she pulled it out the fire and blew it out. It was black on the outside, but after a couple pokes, she realized that it was still good on the inside and decided to go with it. Making her s'more she looked over toward the large teen. "So what brings you over to this side of the campfire?" she asked. Most of the night Gajeel and been arm wrestling Elfman and Laxus.
"You," he said simply, causing a blush to appear on the girl's face. "Plus the booze is over here too," he said, grinning.
Levy huffed but said nothing. She offered him a bite of the s'more which he accepted. She laughed when she saw the marshmallow goo all over his chin.
"Hey everyone," Mira called, standing up, Erza by her side.
The students turned their heads to the two girls, a couple uneasy faces taking over their smiles.
"We would like to make a toast," Erza said, raising her beer. "First of all, to Cana for bringing booze for us to make this toast," the red head said, raising her glass slightly toward the girl, who raised hers back.
"And second, to the end of the rivalry," Mira finished.
The students let out loud whoops and joy as they all raised their glasses before taking swigs.
…
The fire had just about died down and everyone was getting ready for bed when Sting approached Natsu. "Hey," the blonde said, sitting down next to him on the log.
"Sup," Natsu replied, scooting over to make more room.
"Take good care of her for me," Sting said as he stared at Lisanna's sleeping figure, curled up in a sleeping bag.
"I will," the pink haired teen replied. "You can already see her old self," he said. "With the rivalry over, she is finally able to relax again."
"Yeah, everything has been smoothed over between her and Mira," Sting smiled.
"I guess this whole Turf Wars thing is over now," Natsu commented as he looked around at all the sleeping students, Magnola's and Sabers sprawled out together on the beach.
"Bout damn time."
