Ino ran home as soon as her shift had ended. She had to cope with Deidara and Konan laughing and having a great time. Konan had even ordered a second dessert. She was going to be a bride and she had a second dessert.
What was more unbelievable was that Deidara had tossed her aside like nothing. Like she was some girl he had found on the streets. It couldn't be helped. Ino couldn't find a reason for him to dump her. All it took was to give one demand and it was over. She had been a fool for ever thinking things would work out. Thinking that he loved her just as much as she loved him. That he would leave his girl, fiancée, for her. It had all been silly dreams and wishful thinking.
It would be another three weeks before Ino would see him again. They walked past her on a farmers market. He didn't even look twice at her. Ino paid for her scallions and went home. It was silly of her to have an affair with him when he was taken.
She had to keep up appearances when her son came over. He was cheerful. Ino hardly remembered how it felt to be happy like him. He was all smiles and laughs. It was only for a weekend. Then Ino was left all alone and she had no purpose anymore.
She went to work, she ate and she slept.
She needed something else.
Something more.
She needed to get back at Deidara.
It felt strange buying again. The dealer spit out his bag as soon as she had given him the money. She had decided to break the one promise she had ever given him. She would try heroin. She would get back at him for having hurt her. She knew that wasn't why she did it. She was alone and hurt. It had been years since she had used drugs and she had missed them sorely. Deidara was just an excuse and an inspiration to try something new.
She had seen him many enough times to know how it worked. She injected herself and the feeling hit her the same instant. It was a rush she screamed when the euphoria hit, and then came the slow. With the rush came a warm sensation over her skin making it itch. When the slow came she crashed on the couch. It felt like everything was a cloud and there was no pain.
It lasted for hours. She wasn't said, but she wasn't particularly happy either. She was indifferent. It was a great upgrade from how she had been feeling. She promised herself that she would just try it this time and now she was done.
The next week she decided she would have some fun after work. It wasn't like she had craved heroin or like she had become addicted after the first time. She just needed to relax and clear her mind a couple of hours. It wasn't any dangerous at all.
