Her body was weak, all of her long life she had always stayed active and when she reached her 92 birthday everyone had been surprised of all the energy and strength she still had had in her body, but that was now three years ago and Angela Webber could feel that her life was nearing its end.

After more than 95 years of life her body now had begun to give up, still she could look down at her wrinkly hands and see how they had looked all those decades ago when she was till young, how she sometimes longed back to those days.

Still Angela knew she had lived a happier and more fulfilling life than most, there was not truly anything she regretted, perhaps that she and Ben would have waited few years more to get their first child, she had only been 23, but Samantha had been greatest joy and Angela would not have traded her first born daughter for the world.

For more than one child it had been, three to be exact. Benjamin had come three years after Sam and Elizabeth had been born seven years after him, to say that she had been a surprise was an understatement, though she had been a wonderful one nevertheless.

"Are you cold granny?" Angela turned her attention to her grandchild who was sitting next to her on the bench out in the sunlight. Isabella was now twenty two years old, the youngest of Samantha's oldest daughter's children and named after Isabella Swan, the person Angela had never stopped missing.

"Yes a little dearest." Isabella placed a blanket over her great grandmother's legs just as the small child in the crib started to wail.

"Sorry granny I just need to and warm the bottle for George, I will be right back."

"Take you time dear, I know how fussy they can be in that age." With a warm smile and a kiss on Angela's cheek, Isabella picked up her son and walked into the house which she had bought with her husband just a few months ago.

Leaning back in her chair, Angela closed her eyes and enjoyed the sunlight. Yes she was old now, but no matter how many years had passed, she had never forgotten Isabella Swan.

Angela could still, after all these years, see Isabella as she had looked the first day in Forks high, she had been a vision of beauty, but there had been something otherworldly about her as well and had nothing to do with her white eyes.

It had been almost as if there was another presence with her, one much more ancient and powerful than anything Angela had sensed before, for she had sensed an otherworldly feeling around the Cullen's as well, though it had been a very different feeling, one she had encountered a few other times during her life.

Still Bella had become her friend, she had given Angela what she needed to pursue her dream to sing, one which had given Angela more fame than she could have imagined, but Bella had also brought her and Ben together.

However Angela had always known Bella would not stay by her side and when Bella and Edward had fallen in love, Angela was never surprised, somehow she had always known it would happen.

After all these years however, Angela still could not help to wonder what had happened to her friend, about a year after Bella had come to Forks, she had fallen very ill, at least that was that the story had been, and the Cullen's had gone to Europe to meet a specialist that could save her.

But Bella had not survived and the Cullen's had never come back to Forks, at least that was the story that had been told, for even after all this time, Angela still believed Bella was alive. For just as Angela sometimes in her life had reacted on the feelings she got when meeting different people, she had always known she someone was gone even before she had been told.

Suddenly the sun went behind a dark cloud. Angela gave a small sigh and she supposed it was time for her to rise, but before she had done so she thought she saw something by the treeline.

"Who is there?" Angela said as she squinted her eyes a little, cursing that her eyesight was not what it had once been. Then she saw how a shadow materialized from the woods. From the form she could see it was a woman and even before the shadow reached her, Angela knew.

"Bella." She said as she stared at her long lost friend standing before her, her friend which had not changed one day since she last had seen her almost 80 years ago, Bella still looked as she had the day she had walked into Forks high, her eyes still as white.

"Have you come to take me over?" Angela asked as she stared at her old friend which had taken the seat which had been occupied by her great granddaughter just a few minutes ago. At her words Bella took her hand and Angela looked astounded at the differences, her own full of wrinkles and marks while Bella's was smooth with completely white skin.

"You are cold old friend." Bella said holding both of Angela's hands in her own and once more Angela felt was if she was being watched by those white blind eyes, but just as before she felt no unease and only the warmth and love which came from her old friend.

"Well when you get old the circulation is not what it used to be." Bella gave a small smile at that before her face turned more serious.

"Have you lived a happy life Angela? I have always wished I could have been with but I have never left you, I have always kept an eye on you." Angela looked at Bella carefully before answering.

"Is this an interrogation before the afterlife?" At this Bella gave a small chuckle.

"No it is a wish, a wish that my friend became happy."

"Then yes I have been very happy. How could I not have been? I have three lovely children, five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and so far two great great grandchildren." Bella threw a glance into the house after her words.

"Yes you have gotten a wonderful family."

For little while, the two old friends sat in silence, one frozen in time, the other aged, holding each other's hands as no words really needed to be said, the bonds of friendship as strong as they had been all those years ago.

"What happened to you Bella? I have always wondered." Angela finally said as her friend gave a deep sigh.

"I got sick Ang, not in the usual way but there is no other way to describe it. The way I lived, the restrictions which was given after what happened to me I…" As the words trailed off and Angela saw the distressed look on Bella's face, she suddenly knew did not need to know. Whatever had happened, her friend was here now and that was all that truly mattered.

"It is alright Bella, you do not have to tell me. But please answer me this, have you been happy during all of these years?" At the warm smile which lit up her face, Angela already knew Bella's answer but allowed her to speak nevertheless.

"Yes I have been, more so than I ever thought I could be. I have been loved and I have been happy seeing your life develop and seeing you happy. I do not think I could have found joy if not had done so also."

"Then I am content and very happy for you as well Bella."

When those words was spoken, the sun choose to show itself once more and to Angela's surprise Bella's skin began to glimmer like millions of diamonds and she saw looked at her friend she suddenly felt a deep peace come over her, the final question which had bound her to this life had been answered and suddenly she felt so extremely tiered.

Looking at Bella, Angela just knew her friend must be an angel, sent down to her In her final hour and as she closed her eyes, she could hear the laugher of Ben surround her as her body became light and started to float.

"Sorry it took so long granny I…" Isabella stopped in the doorway which lead out to the sunny porch. Before her stood a creature more beautiful than any other she had ever seen, her hair was dark brown with read strings, her skin like porcelain, glowing in the sunlight and her eyes were completely white. The creature was dressed in a casual blue T-shirt and a pair of jeans and looked to be no older than twenty.

And it was tucking the blanket around her granny before it looked up at Isabella where she stood in the doorway and suddenly she knew for she had seen pictures of the woman she had been named after many times.

"Bella?" The young woman in front of her nodded.

"I just came to say goodbye, she was my best friend. I am happy she got a long life, know I wish you the same and that I will always look after your family."

"I…." But before Isabella had the chance to say anything more, the woman in front of her just disappeared into thin air. Hasting to her Angela's side, she already knew that her granny was gone and as she saw that the brown eyes which was usually full of life closed, Isabella did not even check for a pulse.

Looking towards the forest, Isabella felt a huge amount of gratitude. Not only had her granny simply fallen asleep, she had been welcomed into the next life by an angel, one that would also keep on guarding her legacy.

Still as Isabella walked back inside to call her mother, this knowledge did not stop neither the pain nor the loss as tears began to stream done her cheeks, still the knowledge that her granny belonged in heaven eased it somewhat.
