Full Summary: This side series is connected to Sky Series 02: The Guarding Sky - Chapter 48. This is about the final battle between Kudo Shinichi, Miyano Shiho, Kuroba Kaito and their allies against the Black Organization and the Magic Kaito Organization.

Chapter 07 – Couples

~ KHR ~

~ Shinichi and Ran's Point Of View ~

Shinichi led Ran into his room and locked the door once they both entered the room. Suddenly, Ran hugged him from behind and tears fell from her face. Shinichi sighed softly and turned around to hug Ran while slowly bringing them both to his bed to have a seat.

Shinichi patted Ran's head. "You did well Ran… I am sorry for tricking you for so long. It was for your safety."

Ran gripped Shinichi's shirt tightly. "Y-You were so c-close… yet so f-f-ar… I-I thought I will never see you again…"

"I am sorry Ran. In the past when you found out that Conan was me, I wanted to tell you the truth. But Haibara kept telling me not to. So, in order to not expose you to too much danger, Agasa-hakase, Haibara and Hattori will help me to divert your attention away from me when you almost found out my real identity…"

Ran nods. "I missed you too, Ran."

After Ran finished crying, she covered her face in embarrassment. "I am sorry Shinichi, I ruined your clothes."

Shinichi chuckled. "Do not worry about it. Ran, please go to the washroom and wash your face. I will go and change my clothes."

Ran nods and rushed into the washroom while Shinichi went to change his clothes. After they finished their individual tasks, Shinichi lets Ran sits on his bed while he sat on the floor.

"Do you have any questions, Ran?"

"You said you will tell me who this 'Jii' person is to Kuroba-san."

Shinichi nods. "Okay, I will give you the basic information about him," and he told Ran about Jii.

After Shinichi gave the explanation to Ran, Ran nods. "Kuroba-san's family is really interesting. His mother was also a thief, right?"

"Yes, but she has not been active ever since she married Kaito's father and how they met is an interesting story as well."

Ran hummed. "This is really amazing. But Shinichi, are you really going to risk your life to take down the two organizations?"

"Yes, I do not want them to hurt anyone anymore, especially my precious girlfriend."

Ran blushed. "Y-Yes… I will help you Shinichi."

Shinichi sighed. "Yes, I know. Even if I told you not to, you will still help me. But you better not tell anyone about this, especially your parents."

Ran nods. "What about the police? Will you be asking for Megure-keibu or Jodie-sensei's help?"

"Yes, but I will only be asking for only Jodie-san's help because getting Megure-keibu will cause much more trouble. Anyway, this will be discussed with the rest in the next meeting. Do you have any more questions?"

Ran shaked her head. "No… but promise me one thing."

Shinichi raised an eyebrow. "What?"

Ran grabbed Shinichi's hand. "Promise me you will finish what you want to do, no matter what happens to the rest of us. You must completely take down the two organizations so that others will not have to suffer like you did."

"Yes, I promise. Can I ask you a question as well?" Ran nods and Shinichi quickly bowed to one knee while taking out a box. "Will you marry me?" and he opened the box to reveal a simple gold ring.

Ran gasped at the ring and nods numbly.

Shinichi took out the ring from the box and puts it into Ran's left ring finger. "Since we cannot really let people know about this, I will give you this ring first. Once we officially marry, I will present to you the real wedding ring."

Ran laughed and hugged Shinichi while they kissed each other.

~ Kaito and Aoko's Point Of View ~

Kaito leads Aoko to a guest room and locked the door when they were both inside the room. Aoko immediately jumped towards him and began punching him. Kaito quickly dodged the first few punches. But when Aoko managed to hit him, he realized she was not seriously punching him and her tears were falling.

Kaito stopped dodging Aoko and just allow her to hit him while he pulled her into a hug. In the beginning, she was still punching him. But as time pass, she slowly stopped punching him and hugged him tightly while crying more.

After a while, Aoko stopped crying and looked Kaito in the eyes. Kaito tilted his head and hummed while letting go of Aoko, but Aoko did not want to let go of Kaito.

Kaito pats Aoko's head. "Are you alright, Aoko?"

Aoko blushed. "I am fine, Bakaito…"

"What do you want to know now, Aoko? I promise I will answer you everything honestly."

Aoko lets go of Kaito and went to sit on the bed. "Tell me everything of how you came to know about your father's murderer and decided to become Kaitou Kid."

Kaito nods while sitting on the floor in front of Aoko and begins to explain to her of how he discovers his father's alter ego as Kaitou Kid and the truth of his death eight years ago.

After Kaito finished explaining to Aoko what she wanted to know, Aoko was truly ashamed of how she acted just now and kept apologizing to Kaito. Kaito sweat-dropped at that and hugged Aoko to stop her.

Kaito smiled cheekily at Aoko. "Ne~ Aoko~"

Aoko hummed. "What is it, Bakaito?"

Kaito whined. "Why do you still call me that?"

"I like it, and I will not change it~"

Kaito sighed. "Anyway, will you become my official girlfriend, Aoko-chan~?"

Aoko blushed and her heart was racing. "Otou-san will not approve of this."

Kaito chuckled. "Every father is like this, Aoko-chan~"

Aoko kissed Kaito in the cheek. "I will become your girlfriend and help you and Kudo-kun in taking down the two organizations."

Kaito kissed Aoko as well. "Thank you, and please do not tell anyone else about this. We do not want our plans to leak back to them."

Aoko nods and they hugged each other while kissing.

~ KHR ~

~ Heiji and Kazuha's Point Of View ~

Kazuha was dragging Heiji away from the meeting room while Heiji kept telling her to stop it. suddenly, Kazuha stopped and looked around her in confusion while letting go of Heiji.

Heiji face-palmed and sighed. "That is why I told you to stop, Kazuha."

Kazuha whined. "But Heiji~"

Heiji sighed again and grabbed Kazuha's hand. "Come on, I have been here once or twice to help Kudo with his identity problem."

It was then Heiji's turn to drag Kazuha around the house and into a guest room. Next, he locked the door after both of them were inside the room.

Kazuha sat on the bed and folded her hands. "Heiji… is everything Kudo-san, Miyano-san and Kuroba-san said were true?"

Heiji leaned against the door. "Of course it is, and you had to shout at the scientist lady about her past…"

Kazuha humped. "It is her own fault for being an ex-criminal."

Heiji sighed. "Kazuha, you cannot blame her for this. For example, if your parents were working for the yakuza when you were born, you will most likely follow your parents to become part of the yakuza as well, right?"

Kazuha was embarrassed and looked away. "I suppose so… I will go and apologize to Shiho-san later."

Heiji nods. "You go do that."

And there was an awkward silence that followed.

Kazuha was nervous. "Ne~ Heiji… are you really going to help them take down the two organizations?"

Heiji nods. "Yes, I will not let Kudo fight this alone."

Kazuha gulped nervously. "H-Heiji…"

Heiji raised an eyebrow. "What is wrong, Kazuha?"

Kazuha clenched her fist. "I-I love you, Heiji! Please be my boyfriend!" and she covered her face in embarrassment.

Heiji went towards Kazuha while smirking. "Took you long enough to admit it, Kazuha-chan~" and he took her away from her face.

Kazuha blushed and hugged Heiji while smiling. "I will follow you in your decision to help them."

Heiji kissed Kazuha. 'You are my first love after all…'

~ Saguru and Shiho's Point Of View ~

Shiho left the meeting room and Saguru followed her. She went through several corridors before reaching her lab. Once Saguru went in after her, she locked the door.

Shiho went to take hold of one of the apparatus and shaked it. "Do you have any questions for me, Sagu-chan?"

Saguru folded his hands. "Did the Black Organization really do all that to you?"

Shiho twirled the apparatus on her hand. "Yes, it was hard at first when I escaped from the Black Organization's influence though. But Kudo-kun and Agasa-hakase really helped me through it."

Saguru went towards Shiho and hugged her from behind. "That is good, at least there are people who are your allies even though you worked for the Black Organization in the past…"

Shiho gently puts down the apparatus onto a table. "Yes, Kudo-kun has saved me many times when the Black Organization almost managed to track me down."

Saguru lets Shiho go and smiled. "I miss you, Ho-chan. In these past years since we did not get to see each other, you have grown to be so beautiful."

Shiho blushed slightly. "You have become quite handsome as well, Sagu-chan."

Saguru then took out a book and showed her the book. "This book… do you remember it?"

Shiho's eyes widened. "The book I left in the park for you…"

Saguru gave the book to Shiho. "I promised myself that I will give you back this book once we meet again in the future."

Shiho received the book and flipped it open. After a while, she closed the book and gave it back to Saguru.

"Keep it… this book is better in your hands."

Saguru kept the book back. "Thank you… Ho-chan. Anyway, will you tell me of your time in the Black Organization?"

Shiho looked away. "I am sorry Sagu-chan, b-but I am not ready… to tell you about that period of my life…"

Saguru hugged Shiho more. "It is fine. I will wait to the day until you will open up to me."

Shiho muttered. "Thank you for not rejecting me even after all these years, Sagu-chan…"

Saguru kissed Shiho in the cheek. "I would never do such a thing to you, Ho-chan. You are after all… the only childhood friend I ever approved of."

Shiho chuckled. "I suppose so…"

~ KHR ~

~ Normal Point of View ~

The four couples talked and talked to each other until night time. Agasa-hakase texted Shinichi that it was time for dinner and told him to tell the rest. Shinichi did so and the four couples went to the dining room to have dinner where Agasa-hakase and Subaru were.

After all of them had dinner, Agasa-hakase and Subaru cleaned up the dishes. Shinichi told the rest that they can stay for the night and if they need clothes, they can borrow from his parents' wardrobe. They all decided to stay the night anyway as they wanted to discuss more things. They told their parents or guardians that they will be staying over in a friend's house, but did not tell them whose house it was.

Ran, Kazuha and Aoko decided to sleep together and Ran also pulled Shiho to sleep with them as well in the same room. Seeing this, Shinichi, Heiji, Kaito and a reluctant Saguru also slept in the same room together to discuss things. They changed into Shinichi's parents' clothes and went to their room.

In the girls' room, the girls (mostly Ran, Kazuha and Aoko) talked about their boyfriends with Shiho just listening. Kazuha also apologized to Shiho for all the mean things she said to her and Shiho forgave her. In the boys' room, the boys were talking about the cases and the heist that is currently happening.

Because of this, the bonds between them deepened as the night went by.
