Full Summary: This side series is connected to Sky Series 02: The Guarding Sky - Chapter 48. This is about the final battle between Kudo Shinichi, Miyano Shiho, Kuroba Kaito and their allies against the Black Organization and the Magic Kaito Organization.

Chapter 08 – Calling

The next day, the eight of them woke up and refreshed themselves while wearing back their normal clothes. They then went downstairs to have breakfast prepared by Agasa-hakase and Subaru. After that, all of them exchanged goodbyes with each other and went back to their own homes.

When all of them left Shinichi house, Shinichi locked the door and looked into the shadows.

"They are gone…"

A person came out from said shadows. "Good, let us start the next meeting."

Shinichi sighed. "You are really excited about this, are you not Kaito?"

Kaito whined. "What~? It is exciting, right?"

Shinichi face-palmed. "Whatever. If Aoko-san gets mad at you for leaving a replacement of yourself with her, I am not going to help you."

Kaito shrugged it off. "Do not worry… I already told her about my plans for today. Come on~" and he bounced excitedly. "Introduce me to this 'Okiya Subaru' so that we can get more allies with his help."

Shinichi sighed. "WE are only doing this because the FBI can provide us with weapons and equipment through their connections while the two Police Inspectors that are also part of our group are so that we can inform Megure-keibu easily when it is needed."

Shinichi and Kaito then walked to a room where Subaru is and they begin to discuss on how to pull the two FBI agents and two Police Inspectors into their plans.

~ In a car ~

~ Wataru's Point Of View ~

In the evening, I was fetching Sato-san home with her car and we were talking with each other. Suddenly, my phone rang and by the tone of the song I set, it was Conan-kun. I told Sato-san to answer it and put it on loud speaker.

Conan asked. "Hello, Takagi-keiji?"

"I am here, Conan-kun. What is the problem?"

Sato-san came into the conversation as well. "I am here as well, Conan-kun~"

"Good, can you stop somewhere first Takagi-keiji? Since Sato-keiji answered the phone for you means you are driving. I do not want you to crash into anything later."

I was impressed by Conan-kun's deductions. "Okay…" and I went to stop at the side of the road. "What is wrong then, Conan-kun?"

"Leave the speaker on, someone wants to talk to you both," and the sound of Conan-kun handing his phone to another person was heard. "Good evening, Sato-keiji, Takagi-keiji."

Sato-san and I were shocked. "Kudo-kun?!"

Shinichi sighed. "Yes, Conan-kun is with me right now in another country after all."

I laughed nervously. "O-Oh…"

"Do not be so nervous… anyway, I was planning on going back to Japan in a few days and I wanted to meet you two that Conan-kun has always highly speaks of."

Sato-san and I were shocked again. "What?!"

Shinichi chuckled. "Is it really that surprising?"

"A little…"

"Should you not also want to see Megure-keibu as well?"

Shinichi hummed. "I would like to meet with Megure-keibu, but not now. Anyway, I will be staying at the Orchidea Japan Hotel, Beika Branch (1) during this weekend under the name Kudo Yusaku. I would like the both of you to come this Saturday at 10 in the morning, and please do not tell anyone else about this."

Sato-san raised an eyebrow. "Kudo-kun… why are you doing all of this?"

Shinichi sighed again. "It is best not to discuss about it over the phone. Anyway, if you want answers please come… I will be at the lobby lounge waiting for you. Please also make sure that your colleagues will not stalk you both like they do when they found out that the both of you had taken the same day off."

Sato-san and I blushed at that. After the few times our colleagues started stalking us when I secretly bring Sato-san for a date, I somehow started being able to sense them doing so.

I face-palmed. "I know… I have noticed their presence after the first few times."

Sato-san meanwhile though for a while about it and hummed. "Okay, I will make sure about that and go as well."

I sighed lightly. "I will go as well."

"Thank you, I am sure this Saturday's meeting will be quite interesting. Also, please bring a change of clothes with you as you may have to stay overnight in the hotel."

Sato-san and I agreed to it.

Shinichi hummed again. "Goodbye then~" and the phone line went dead.

Sato-san closed my phone while I started driving again.

"What should we do, Miwa? Should we follow as Kudo-kun suggested and disguise ourselves as someone else to divert the attention of our colleagues that will try to stalk us?"

Sato-san kissed my cheeks. "Let us go to a wig shop to buy some wigs now since we have the time. On Friday night, we will discuss on how we will go to the hotel that Kudo-kun is staying in without our colleagues following us."

I blushed and sweat-dropped. "Okay…" and I drove us to a wig shop.

~ Jodie's Apartment ~

~ Jodie's Point Of View ~

I was almost finishing my dinner when my phone rang. I saw the caller was Subaru and answered it.

"Hello Subaru-san. What is wrong?"

"Just call me Subaru, Jodie. Anyway, I need to discuss with you and Camel about some things in Orchidea Japan Hotel, Beika Branch this Saturday at 10 in the morning."

I raised an eyebrow. "Why not have this meeting tomorrow or the rest of any of the weekdays?"

"I am busy and can only make time for the meeting on this Saturday."

"Then why do we not have the meeting you want in the house you are currently staying in?"

"There will be other people joining us as well and as such Orchidea Japan Hotel, Beika Branch is a better location to do this."

I sighed. "Conan-kun will be there as well, right?"

"Yes, in a different way…"

"What do you mean, Subaru?"

Subaru shrugged. "You will know what I mean on that day."

"Okay…"

"Anyway, I will be waiting for you at the hotel's Pomegra café. Also, please do not tell James about this, I do not want him knowing about this meeting."

I narrowed my eyes. "Why…?"

Subaru shrugged. "You will understand once you come to the hotel."

I sighed again. "Fine… I will tell Camel about this and go to Orchidea Japan Hotel, Beika Branch without telling boss about it."

"Alright then, I will go see you there…" and Subaru closed his phone.

I closed my phone too and hummed. "This Saturday will be interesting…"

Next, I called Camel and told him about what Subaru told me and told him to come over to my apartment on Friday to discuss on how they are going to Orchidea Japan Hotel, Beika Branch without alerting their boss about it.

~ Shinichi's house ~

~ Normal Point of View ~

Shinichi keeps his phone. "Sato-keiji and Takagi-keiji has agreed to come."

Subaru kept his phone as well. "Jodie will be coming too and bringing Camel with her."

Kaito clapped. "That is good then. Now, Shinichi… how are we going to book a room in Orchidea Japan Hotel, Beika Branch under your father's name? I heard it was almost impossible to book a room in such a short time because of its always full capacity."

Shinichi smirked. "That is easy, my father somehow gained a special position to do so," and he took out a card. "And I will also be using my father's card to do so, I can mimic his signature quite well after all and he owes me for that much for leaving me home alone while going to another country with my mother to work."

Subaru nods. "When will you be booking the room?"

Shinichi hummed. "I will book through online and into the hotel late on Thursday night. There should be only the staff around that time and I will dress myself just like my father."

Kaito raised an eyebrow. "Need some help on that?"

Shinichi smiled slightly. "Thanks, but I do not need your help. It is quite easy to dress like my father. Our features are quite alike and my mother has taught me the art of disguise since I was young… but I rarely use it."

Kaito laughed cheekily. "I suppose so…"

Subaru folded his hands. "Anyway, are we finished here? I have to purchase a few things for back up and I have yet to confirm them."

Shinichi raised an eyebrow at Subaru. "Are there strong?"

Subaru nods. "Strong enough to kill…" Shinichi and Kaito grimaced while Subaru sighed. "You know that the only way to completely take down is to wipe all of them from the face of the earth."

Shinichi's eyes darkened. "I know… they have killed too much from within the shadows…"

Kaito's eyes darkened as well and nods slightly. "They killed my father as well because he was a nuisance for their plans to get the Pandora."

Subaru patted both Shinichi and Kaito's shoulder. "This has to be done for a better future, you two should already be aware of this. But I wonder… if we managed to survive this last confrontation against the two organizations, how will we live our lives from then on? Some of our precious people may have been killed or put into coma… what will we do?" and he walked away.

~ After Subaru left ~

~ Shinichi and Kaito's Point Of View ~

Shinichi and Kaito were thinking.

'Akai-san is right… but I have a feeling that everything will turn out even better for us, even if we do lose some of our precious people.'

'What Okiya-san said was true, but… we must be prepared to kill them.'

After a while, Kaito patted Shinichi's shoulder. "Come on Shinichi~ let me meet your hakase. He has been the one making the tools for my magic show and gave it through Jii-chan ever since I became Kaitou Kid."

Shinichi face-palmed and grumbled. "Hakase… fine, let us go. I am going to lecture him about this," and he started walking towards where Agasa-hakase is.

Kaito snickered while following Shinichi. "Do not lecture him for too long…"

~ After walking away from Shinichi and Kaito ~

~ Subaru's Point Of View ~

After I finished confirming the order for the weapons and equipment I wanted for back up, I was walking towards the computer room that was specially created for Shiho so that she can access into her files without needing to transfer fata from the computer in Agasa-hakase's house to Shinichi's house when she needs to. Shinichi and Agasa-hakase were the ones who helped her set up the highly secured connection needed for the two computers in the two different locations. It seems that even though Shinichi still trusts me, she still does not.

I also know that she was Akemi's younger sister because when I first saw her (teenage version), she was similar to her older sister's look. And if I heard correctly, it was because I infiltrated the Black Organization by pretending to slowly fall in love with her and then become her boyfriend, and when it was revealed that I am an FBI agent, she was seen as my accomplice and got send into a suicide mission which leads to her being killed by Gin in the end.

I sighed. 'I should tell Shiho my side of the story and apologize to her for getting her only older sister killed… I really did not want that to happen after knowing that Akemi wanted to help her and herself to escape from the Black Organization and its clothes. That was why she allowed me to become her boyfriend even though she knew from the very beginning that I am an FBI agent.'

After a while, I reached Shiho's computer room and knocked. A few moments later, the door opened a little and Shiho stiffened when she saw me.

Shiho's eyes narrowed. "What do you want?"

I smiled sadly a little. "Can I talk to you for a little? I promise you that I will not do anything to you and stay a distance from you."

Shiho though for a while and nods while opening the door big enough for me to enter. "Come in, I will give you a chance since Kudo-kun trusts you."

I entered the room and kept my distance from her as I promised. I took off my glasses as well and turned the voice-changing choker off. I then begin to tell her about my side of the story when I infiltrated the Black Organization by befriending and later becoming her older sister's boyfriend. By the end of my explanation, she covered her eyes while tears fell.

I just stayed in the shadows to watch over Shiho.

(1) Orchidea Japan Hotel, Beika Branch is located in Beika City, Beika Town District 4. There are also several other hotel branches in Japan, especially in Beika, Haido, Osaka and Namimori. Byakuran build the hotel branches in Japan after he found his Mare Night Guardians.
