Hi guys. Stellar Flames here, Natsu and myself hope you're enjoying Flames and Keys . We mainly have the set characters we act as, but we also take turns with the less common characters. with our names we like to go by our favourite character, so I'm lucy, my female friend is natsu . together we worked together to create this fan fic.

-An hour later at the school infirmary-
Lucy: *unconscious in the bed, still wearing Loke's jacket*
Natsu: *unconscious with an IV attached to his arm to counteract the venom from Cubelious's bites*
Mira: what happened to them?
Vitae: Sting, Rogue and Cobra.
Mira: but why did they do it?
Vitae: I do not know. It would be best if you ask them
Mira: I'll be sure to ask them
Vitae: I have sent for their parents. You may go back to class
Mira: okay *leaves the infirmary*
Vitae: *walks up to Lucy and places a hand on her forehead, sending some magic into her and waking her up*
Lucy: *blinks* h..huh?
Vitae: *smiles and takes his hand away*
Lucy: w..what h..happened?
Vitae: You were about to transform into a dragon. I stopped you
Lucy: a dragon? Since when could I transform into a dragon?
Vitae: Since your chosen mate is also a half-ling and you were emotionally stressed
Lucy: o..okay
Lucy: b..but why did you stop me?
Vitae: Transforming into a dragon would attract too much unwanted attention. We are nearly extinct and therefore precautions must be taken to protect ourselves
Lucy: okay *breathes in and winces*
Vitae: *places a hand on her arm and heals her* I have sent for your mother
Lucy: w..why?
Vitae: To take you home.
Lucy: *pales* h..home?
Vitae: *sighs* To where you have been staying the past few days
Lucy: *sighs shakily with relief* o..okay
Vitae: *glances briefly at Natsu* I must say. You have picked an admirable mate.
Lucy: what do you mean?
Vitae: He stayed conscious long enough to crawl over to you and make sure you were okay.
Lucy: r...really?
Vitae: See for yourself
Lucy: see for myself?
Vitae: *places a hand on her forehead and Lucy can see what happened after Sting and Rogue left*
Lucy: *a tear trickles down her face. she sniffs* I..I don't know what I did to deserve his kindness
Vitae: *wipes the tear away* Fire dragons are known for being fiercely loyal and protective of their mates
Lucy: *sniffs* b..but that doesn't explain why we feel this way about each other even though we only met at the start of this week
Vitae: When you find your mate, it doesn't matter how long you've known them
Lucy: *sighs* d..dad, what do female half-lings go through when they come of age
Vitae: There has not been a half-ling for centuries, Lucy. And all the lore on them disappeared years ago
Lucy: *looks down* o...okay
Vitae: But if I recall correctly... female half-lings go through similar things that males do.
Vitae: If I could give you more information I would. But it varies between each half-ling
Lucy: *blushes slightly* o..okay
Vitae: Why are you blushing?
Lucy: I..I'm n..not blushing
Vitae: And now you're stuttering
Lucy: no I'm not
Vitae: *smiles slightly*
Lucy: what?
Vitae: It's nothing of consequence
Lucy: huh?
Vitae: *chuckles* Don't worry about it
Lucy: *crosses her arms and pouts*
Igneel: *walks into the infirmary with Layla following behind*
Layla: *see's Lucy and runs up to her and hugs her* thank god you're alright
Igneel: *sees Natsu unconscious, an IV in his arm and turns to Lucy* What happened?
Lucy: *surprised by the sudden hug. she hugs Layla back*
Lucy: w..well umm *blushes* n..Natsu and I were making out when Sting, Rogue and Cobra came in and attacked us.
Igneel: *snarls, his eyes turn dragon*like* I'll kill them
Vitae: Ahh. And so the emotions of a fire dragon are once again out in the open
Igneel: *sees Vitae* V..Vitae?
Layla: *looks at vitae* v..vitae?
Vitae: It is good to see you again, Layla
Layla: *starts tearing up* I..I t..thought I'd never see you again
Vitae: I am glad that you were proven wrong. I only wish it were under better circumstances
Layla: *walks over to vitae and hugs him. she sobs into his chest*
Vitae: *wraps his arms around Layla, rubbing her back*
Igneel: *walks over to Natsu, and moves hair out of his eyes*
Layla: I..I m..missed you so much
Vitae: I know. I am sorry I had to leave
Lucy: *looks at Natsu tears form in her eyes*
Igneel: *turns to Lucy* What happened to him?
Lucy: h..he was bitten by Cobra's snake Cubeleous
Igneel: How many times?
Lucy: twice I think
Igneel: *grabs a wet cloth and puts it on Natsu's forehead, steam rises from it instantly*
Natsu: *groans and his eyes open slightly* D..dad?
Lucy: n...Natsu?
Igneel: *changes the cloth on Natsu's forehead*
Natsu: L...Luce? Th..that you?
Lucy: y..yeah
Vitae: *lets go of Layla and carefully picks up Lucy, putting her on the bed next to Natsu*
Lucy: *looks at Natsu with tears in her eyes*
Natsu: *smiles slightly when he sees her* Y..you're okay
Lucy: *nods slightly* uh huh
Natsu: *grins* G..good
Lucy: a..are you okay?
Natsu: I... I'll be f..fine. *moves his head so it's resting on Lucy and closes his eyes*
Lucy: *her breathing evens out, her eyes start drifting shut*
Igneel: Two hundred years since the last half-ling. And they happen to be children of the only life and fire dragon left
Layla: if you don't mind me asking, who was the last half-ling?
Vitae: Have you heard of a dragon slayer named Acnologia?
Layla: *nods* yes
Vitae: He was the half-ling of the dragon of death, Nex
Layla: *shudders*
Vitae: *turns to Igneel seriously* It would appear that all the dragons are dying out. Our time is coming to an end
Igneel: *nods sadly* It would appear so
Layla: what should we do? we cant let our children get hurt
Vitae: That is easier said than done, Layla. I'm sure you know from watching the fire dragon, but as soon as we lose our mate we lose our will to live or fight. The only reason he's lasted this long is because he has the half-ling
Layla: I can't even help our daughter *tears form in her eyes*
Vitae: *pulls Layla into his chest*
Igneel: We have to return to the isle.
Layla: the isle?
Vitae: He is saying we have to leave. Most likely for good
Layla: 'we' as in...?
Igneel: Layla. You have to understand that it is not safe to have any dragons in the city anymore.
Layla: *looks down* I know that
Vitae: And based on the fact that both half-lings are coming of age, it would be best if we left before their power fully developed
Layla: *starts tearing up* s...so Natsu and Lucy are leaving?
Vitae: It would be best
Layla: *tears pour down her face* I understand
Igneel: We will have to wait until they are fully recovered. And based on how Natsu is at the moment, that could be a while.
Layla: o..okay
Vitae: *hugs Layla closer, a tear falling*
Cobra: *sitting in class. he can overhear the conversation in the infirmary* hey sting. something interesting is going on between the dragons
Sting: And what is that?
Cobra: seems like blondie and pinky are 'coming of age'. which means they're more prone to transforming into dragons. the life and fire dragons are in there saying that they're going to take blondie and pinky away
Sting: Hmm... That is interesting
Cobra: they also said after they leave they're not coming back
Sting: Maybe we should tell pinky's friends about this
Cobra: *smirks* sounds like a good idea
Sting: *stands up and walks over to Gray, Erza and Lisana* 'sup guys?
Erza: what do you want sting?
Sting: Cobra discovered something very interesting that we thought we'd share with you
Erza: and what would that be?
Sting: Apparently the dragons are going to take pinky and Lucy away for good
Erza: *eyes widen* you can't be serious
Sting: They're in the infirmary. *smirks* Why don't you ask them?
Gray: *looks to the door to see Layla and Vitae supporting Lucy, while Igneel carries an unconscious Natsu down the hallway towards the carpark* Erza
Erza: *walks up to vitae* what's going on here
Vitae: Get out of my way, human
Erza: not until you explain what you're doing with Natsu and Lucy
Natsu: *starts waking up, his eyes dragon-like. He turns his head and sees Erza* E..Erza?
Erza: Natsu are you okay?
Natsu: I... I d..don't.. kn..know..
Erza: is it true you're leaving
Natsu: *starts having trouble breathing* D..dad... I c..can't b..breathe..
Layla: I'm sorry but we must be going
Igneel: *carefully moves Natsu onto his back with Vitae's help*
Natsu: *breathing raggedly, his eyes closed*
Erza: *walks back into the class room and bangs her head on the desk cracking it*
Gray: *turns to Lucy* Luce. Tell us what's happening. Please
Lucy: *looks down* I..I can't
Gray: *points at Natsu* Look at Natsu, Lucy! You need to tell us so we can help
Lucy: *looks at Natsu and tears pour down her face*
Gray: Lucy, please tell us
Lucy: I..I *winces*
Natsu: *weakly holds an arm out to Lucy, a small smile on his face*
Lucy: *smiles slightly and takes Natsu's hand in hers*
Igneel: *to Lucy* You can tell them
Lucy: Sting, Cobra and Rogue attack Natsu and myself. Cubeleous bit Natsu twice
Gray: He got bitten by that snake?
Lucy: *nods* twice
Gray: Do you have any idea why they attacked you?
Lucy: *shakes her head* no
Gray: Is it true that you guys are leaving?
Lucy: *looks at vitae* w..we're leaving?
Vitae: Not until your mate has recovered
Gray: Have you even talked to them about this or are you not giving them a choice?
Vitae: The affairs of dragons do not concern you human
Layla: vitae we should be going
Gray: Lucy, you can't honestly tell me you want to leave
Igneel: *starts walking again, taking care not to disturb Natsu on his back*
Lucy: *tears pour down her face* I...I
Natsu: *as Igneel walks away his hand comes free of Lucy's and falls limply to his side*
Lucy: *drops to her knees and sobs* I...I d..don't k..know w..what t..to d..do
Vitae: Lucy, we have to go
Natsu: N..no. W..we're n..not l..leaving
Layla: *helps Lucy up who is still sobbing*
Lucy: n..Natsu?
Natsu: W..we're n..not l..leaving *starts coughing*
Igneel: Natsu, you need to rest.
Lucy: I..I don't want to leave my friends
Vitae: I will talk to you about this later. But we must go
Gray: You're insane making Natsu leave in his condition!
Lucy: o..okay
Igneel: We will not leave until he is recovered enough to travel.
Gray: And how long will that be?
Igneel: A while. You may see them later if you want
Gray: O..okay. *looks at Lucy* I'll see you later, okay?
Lucy: *smiles sadly* o..okay
Gray: *walks into class*
Natsu: *starts coughing again*
Lucy: *takes Natsu's hand in hers and focuses her magic on Natsu healing him*
Natsu: *looks at Lucy* Th.. thanks..
Lucy: *looks at Natsu* n..no p..problem
Vitae: Lets go.
Lucy: o..okay
Layla: *helps Lucy walk out towards the carpark*
Natsu: *closes his eyes and starts losing consciousness again as Igneel walks*
Lucy: *a single tear falls down her face* (I'm so sorry Natsu)
Vitae: *places a hand on Lucy's shoulder*
Lucy: *looks up at vitae*
Vitae: The half-ling will be okay.
Lucy: *sniffs* b..but w..what if t..this h..happens again
Vitae: *looks at Natsu and then back at Lucy* When fire dragons have something they wish to protect, they do not die so easily
Lucy: *sniffs* o..okay
Igneel: We will take him to Grandine. She should be able to counteract the poison
Lucy: okay *winces from the pain in her ribs*
Vitae: *focuses on Lucy and heals her instantly*
Lucy: thank you *smiles slightly*
-At Grandine's-
Natsu: *lying unconscious in one of the beds*
Igneel: He's been bitten by the snake Cubeleous twice. The snake belongs to the poison dragon slayer, Cobra.
Lucy: *is sitting in a chair holding Natsu's hand*
Igneel: Grandine, please tell me you have something to counteract the poison
Grandine: I should be able to counteract the poison *goes to her cupboard a pulls out some anti venom*
Vitae: Are you aware that we have decided to return to the isle?
Grandine: I am aware
Vitae: What do you plan on doing with the dragon slayer?
Grandine: I cannot leave her, she is still young
Vitae: And if you get caught like the fire dragon?
Igneel: Vitae. Now is not the time to be discussing this
Grandine: *walks up to Natsu and injects the anti venom*
Igneel: *turns to Grandine* How long until it will take effect?
Grandine: about half an hour to an hour
Igneel: *walks up to Natsu and looks at him worriedly*
Lucy: *looking down at Natsu tears trickling down her face*
Vitae: The half-ling will be fine
Igneel: *suddenly has Vitae held up against the wall* Shut up! You don't know what it's like to lose a mate and then fearing you'll lose your child!
Lucy: *not looking at vitae* that doesn't take away the fact that I'm worried and that I feel responsible for what happened
Vitae: You're right. I don't. But at least I know I have the strength to protect my mate and child so that doesn't happen.
Lucy: cut it out
Igneel: *starts snarling and lunges at Vitae, only to have Vitae render him immobile and slide out of his grip*
Vitae: *dusting off his clothes* Fire dragons have always been too emotional and reckless for their own good
Grandine: cut it out you two, you're squabbling isn't not helping the situation
Vitae: *flicks Igneel on the forehead, breaking the control*
Natsu: *lightly squeezes Lucy's hand*
Lucy: Natsu?
Natsu: *barely opens his eyes and looks at Lucy* H..hey
Lucy: *smiles slightly* hey
Natsu: G..Gray?
Lucy: what about Gray?
Natsu: W..where is... h..he?
Lucy: he's at school
Natsu: I..is he s..safe?
Lucy: of course he is. why do you ask?
Natsu: J..just a f..feeling
Igneel: Grandine, do you have anything you can give him to speed it along?
Grandine: Igneel, the healing process cannot be sped up unless you want something to go wrong
Igneel: I couldn't even protect my own son. I failed both him and Kimiko
Grandine: *sighs* I'll see what I can do
Igneel: Thank you Grandine
Natsu: *opens his eyes a little more, upon seeing Lucy he smiles*
Lucy: *smiles as she sees Natsu*
Natsu: *weakly raises his arm and pulls her into a kiss*
Lucy: *kisses him back*
Natsu: *runs his fingers through her hair as he kisses her*
Lucy: *wraps her finger through his hair, gripping the back of his neck as she kisses him*
Natsu: *As they kiss, he starts feeling better, his eyes becoming clearer*
Lucy: *she opens her mouth let Natsu explore her mouth*
Natsu: *his tongue enters her mouth exploring it, running along her teeth and tongue*
Lucy: *moans as she deepens the kiss*
Natsu: *wraps his arms around her and pulls him on top of her, wincing slightly as she lands on his chest*
Lucy: *places her hands on his chest and heals him as she kisses him*
Igneel: *leaves the room along with Vitae*
Natsu: *pulls her closer, his fingers running along her spine*
Lucy: *her hands move towards the buttons of his shirt*
Natsu: *slides Loke's jacket off her shoulders, making it drop to the floor*
Lucy: *unbuttons his shirt, sliding off making it drop to the floor*
Grandine: *leaves the room*
Natsu: *reaches down between her legs and moves her underwear aside, carefully placing his fingers inside her*
Lucy: *moans loudly as Natsu moves his finger inside of her*

Natsu: *grins and pulls her closer* I love you too, princess
Lucy: *smiles and hugs Natsu*
Natsu: *his eyes drift closed and he starts falling asleep*
Lucy: *kisses Natsu on the cheek then snuggles closer. her eyes drift shut*
