Chapter 14 - Departure
"I think I finally found it."
"What-" Astrid started but was cut off by Flora who stood up, still smiling.
"The way to gain back my power."
The healer raised an eyebrow, puzzled. Flora laughed seeing Astrid's face.
"As long as they are with me, there's nothing to worry about. When I'm with them, I am confident about everything. The only reason why I can't manage to regain my magic is the fact that I'm thinking too much; about the fact that I might not be able to save everyone – about the fact that I'm weaker than before. And I'm thinking all that because they are not with me. The only fact of them being beside me will be enough for me to save everyone."
"Are you sure?" Astrid stood up and put a hand on her shoulder. "This is very risky."
"You told me that you saw energy coming out from my body." She turned around. "Astrid... If I continue being that anxious about what lay ahead, I will never be able to have my power back again. What is blocking my magic it is the fact that I'm imagining much more things than I should."
For the whole time she was speaking, Astrid had closed her eyes and listened to her with a smile.
"What I mean is that the only way to save everyone is going back there; be in front of them and use my magic like I always did. Training is useless." Flora laughed softly. "The only thing I needed to strengthen was my mind after all."
Flora heard Astrid laughed. Turning around, she raised her eyebrows at the healer, who immediately stopped laughing.
"I'm proud of you. You finally understood everything." Astrid took a step towards her. "Flora, I know that you will them save. I knew it since the beginning."
Flora was still confused.
"I knew that you wouldn't be able to use your magic right now. I took you there only to make you understand that-" Astrid was searching her words. "That you didn't have to be scared about the future. And to help you have confidence in you again." The healer took her shoulders in her hands softly. "And you do right? Did you finally realize that there are no doubts about you saving your family and your friends?"
Flora smiled. "Thank you, Astrid." She said softly before being blinded by the sun.
"Come on, Stella!" Kept repeating the others. "We all did it! You can do it!"
Her friend's voices sounded like a hell to her ears.
Stella had never felt so oppressed in her life. Expect when she was a child; when her parents were too busy with taking care of the kingdom of Solaria after their divorce.
The two persons who took care of her at this moment were her nursemaid and the captain of the army who taught her how to use her magic. Her nursemaid was like her second mother; she was caring and funny, she was the one who taught her everything she knew about mode this day.
On the other hand, the captain of the army was a rude man; even if he was honest and brace, he wanted her to be powerful. That was why she went into very hard trainings, more and more difficult each day.
That was the reason why she hated school. All the exercises she knew in her childhood were enough for her whole life.
At this moment, she knew her friends didn't want to oppress her; she knew they just wanted to help her. But it was very difficult psychologically to go into an exercise that difficult to be more powerful.
Stella breathed deeply. She felt her friends' looks on her; their encouraging and comforting looks. They were the highlight of her life.
That was when something blinded her, even if her eyes were closed.
Opening her eyes, she saw it. The sun.
"Stella, you did it!" Tecna congratulated an astonished Stella.
"You changed the weather! Now it's a sunny day!" Musa said while covering her eyes with her hand.
"But I didn't…." Stella muttered before noticing the necklace with a pendant in a sun form.
I am the star Weather, Stella. Your new power in about the feelings; not only using your power of sun like you always did, you can, just like you did yourself, change everyone's feelings from bad to good; you can change sadness and anger into happiness and joy.
Stella smiled, standing up. Without a word, she hugged Layla and Musa who were the closest in front of her. Just by remembering that she had friends who loved her, she understood how incredible the life was.
Thank you.
"The ship will be ready in three hours!" Riven called from the pilot seat.
Nodding, the girls went back on the village, mainly to recover their clothes and to thank the elves who put them up.
"So, how are you feeling?" Helia asked his girlfriend while she was recovering some of her clothes.
"Well, even if I'm still anxious about what will happen; I feel better." She smiled.
"That's good to hear." Flora took a look at her boyfriend, and frowned. Helia stood up after having recovering something on the floor, and stared at her with concern.
"What?"
"You, and the other hand, still look like a ghost. Did you get some rest today?"
It was true that Helia didn't seem to feel well. His face was as pale as it had ever been; his eyes were hardly opened when they crossed the way of a sunshine, hand his hands were shaking when he was holding something on them.
Helia shook his head. "Don't worry about me. I don't need to rest."
"You do."
"I do not."
"You do."
"Nope."
"Yes you do." Flora was trying to give him an angry-mother look, but failed when she realized they talked like two children as she started to laugh. He eventually joined her laugh.
"Oh god." Flora smiled as she sat on her bed. Helia joined her, as they stayed silent for a while. "It reminds me of Felicia. We used to often "argue" like this."
Helia smiled. "You were close to your family?"
Flora nodded. "Even with his duties as a King and Queen, my parents always found time for their family – they came to see us almost every day. They didn't force us on anything. We could make our own decisions. We could marry whom we wanted as long as they were good persons. They just wanted us to be happy." She sighed. "Felicia was a wonderful sister. She was joyful and always in a good mood. And since the day she met her boyfriend, she was often asking me about the boy I would love to have as a boyfriend. She was a pain in the neck with that, but after all, who on the world doesn't have a sister like this?"
Helia giggled. "I have the same one, don't worry."
Flora smiled. "And my parents didn't really help it, they often invited guys to help me find a boyfriend. But I didn't like any of them, they were arrogant and I didn't have any common point with them."
Helia had been staring at her for the whole time she was speaking. "After all of this, I would like to know more about your life as Astronomia."
Flora smiled. "You will know everything. You'll just have to stay with me for a long time. I lived a lot of things."
Helia didn't reply, but she could see that he was keeping something from her.
Flora sighed a second time, more heavily – mainly to catch his attention. "When I come to remember this, I miss them." He remained silent. Flora was becoming worried about him. She was completely sure something was bothering him. It wasn't only tiredness. It was more than that.
"And I'm sure I'll miss the life I spent these last years when all of this will be over."
Flora didn't really meant what she said. She just wanted him to say something; she wanted to hear his voice. She was worried about him – she knew that he was hiding something from her.
And this time, he moved; seeing the sad look on his Flora's face, he tenderly took her hand in his. "And when you'll save them, I'm sure everything will be the same. Even if now you have new friends and new family, I'm sure that for you, nothing would have changed and that you will be happy again."
Flora smiled, feeling warmth and comfort on each one of his words. As always.
She knew it. She knew that that was the real thing that would be different from her first life.
She took his hand that was holding her in her second one. "And this time, I will have someone to share my happiness, my life and everything I have with." Flora was staring at him with shining eyes and a brilliant smile, tightening the grip on his hand.
Helia smiled back at her – it seemed he was cheered up. "And I will be proud to stay by your side forever, my princess."
With that being said, Flora wrapped her arms around his neck as he placed his hands behind her back, holding her close to him; her hands were playing with his long, blue hair.
"By the way." Helia quickly broke her thoughts and leant back. "Do you know why I dreamt of you as Astronomia?"
Flora didn't really thought about it before. It was true that Helia had been dreaming of her since the day Bloom and Sky were hit by the virus – and it was also true that Flora had no idea why.
"I don't know…" Flora was looking at him with concern. "I really don't know in fact."
Both of them remained looking on each other eyes for a few seconds, trying to find an explanation about it. But they couldn't. Astronomia disappeared 100 years before, and she didn't remember somebody of his "ancient" family coming on Gaia.
"Thank you for everything mom."
"It's alright, sweetheart." Michelle replied, taking Flora's shoulders in her hands. "I know you will succeed to free your father and your sister."
After spending a long time with Helia, they had to come back to the ship where they had to meet. Michelle was waiting there for her, to say goodbye. She was worried about her adopted daughter; she knew that there was nothing to fear about the fact she would still consider her as her mother, but knowing that "Gaël" was maybe free concerned her a lot about Flora's safety.
Flora hugged her softly. "You'll always be my family mom, no matter what."
"I know. Come back soon, please."
"Of course." She leaned away, with tears on her eyes. "Nassima didn't come?"
"I couldn't manage to make her go out from her room." She sighed. "She thought that we were your only family, and she thinks that when they will be saved, you'll forget about us. I think she needs time to understand she is wrong."
Flora nodded. "Tell her that I will never leave you. I love you and you'll always be my family."
"No need to tell it to me."
They turned around, seeing Nassima walking towards them. She was looking down, seeming ashamed.
"You finally get out." Michelle said, crossing her arms. "It was about time."
"Yeah, I'm sorry about that." She looked up at Flora. "Flora, I wanted to say I'm sorry for being upset like this. I should have known that you would never leave us because of that."
Flora smiled. "It's okay, Nassima." Taking a few steps towards her, she started "Don't worry, I'll come ba-"
Taking a step towards her at her turn, Nassima told firmly. "I'm coming with you."
Firstly, I wanted to say that I'm really sorry for the wait. I had really hard preparations for exams, and now that it's over, I might upload faster.
I hope you liked this chapter, even if I know it wasn't very good, without any explainations, but the next one will see a "new" character appear, and then... you'll see. xD I just want to say that I might focus on Flora and Helia's relationship a little more. Yes I love this couple, they are my favorite couple of all times (with NatsuxLucy from Fairy Tail for those who read it :D)
The next chapter shall come next week. :P
Reviews? :D
