Bastian walked along a broken log "Are you sure we should trust him? I mean we just met him..

Rosella rolled her eyes "Bastian, he's family. And a cartoon character. And so are we." She looked back at the map Merlin had given her "I just hope we don't get lost." She looked around the dark forest, and it didn't help that this was after their shift, around ten. She nervously gulped "This forest isn't known for wolves is it?" she heard a wolf's cry and sighed "Brilliant." They both turned around and came face to face with a very hungry wolf, baring sharp yellow fangs and bright yellow eyes, dripping as he looked on at his prey. Rosella slowly reached down at a large stick, she held it up as she yelled at Bastian "Run!"

The boy ran off as she faced the wolf, who was now chasing the both of them. She quickly stopped and hit the wolf, who was aiming to pounce. Rosella huffed "Yeah! Alright!" the wolf got up as Rosella continued to run, with Bastian up ahead.

They both climbed up a tall tree, the broken and thin branches at the end of their stop, the wolf sat on the bottom barking and jumping to reach the two. They watched the wolf jump, not hearing the branches break beneath them. They plummeted into a straw roof and landed in a red armchair, with Merlin softly smiling and sipping at his tea "Ah! Archimedes see? I knew they would arrive at this time, in this exact spot."

Bastian muttered "Amazing."

Archimedes scoffed "Humph 'Amazing' you talk as if he is the greatest wizard of his time!"

Merlin rolled his eyes "Ignore him, Now both of you.. good to see you. Bastian I'd like to give you something!" he walked through his crowded house, burying through his boxes. He pulled out a small box, about the size of his palm "This my boy, belongs to your father." he pulled out a little glass bottle shaped like a light bulb. Inside was a burst of lightening, bouncing along the small glass. Bastian's blue eyes widened in wonder "W-What is it?"

Merlin smiled and stroked his beard "It is a requirement." He looked at the curious boy "When you find out what it's for, you'll know. I'm not really sure myself what exactly it's for but it's said to have extraordinary power." He cleared his throat "Now I think the first thing we will teach you is the most difficult spell there is.."

"Shouldn't we start at something easier? Like a level one?" Rosella questioned.

"Oh pish posh! This spell is the first spell your parents learned." He rolled up his wide sleeves, only to have them fall back "Now repeat after me.. Lux Iaculat!" he waved his hands and a small burst of lighting appeared in his hands, slowly burning out and making a raspberry sound. The two young ones giggled as Archimedes laughed with them "Merlin you know that YOU can't even do that spell!"

"And I suppose you can?! You bird brain!" he smiled back at the two "Repeat and wave like so!"

Bastian smiled "Lux Iacular!"

Merlin corrected him "Iaculat!"

"Lux Iaculat!" Bastian tried, having a small amount of lighting exit his palm. Rosella nervously held up her hand and muttered the words, Merlin pointed to her "With confidence Rosella! With no confidence there is no power!"

"Okay.." She waved again, this time with more assurance. A small spark appeared before her green eyes, making her smile at the wizard. Merlin clapped "Good! Keep going!"

Bastian and Rosella kept waving their hands, repeating the incantation Lux Iaculat. They looked at each other in amazement, watching small sparks form in their hands. Just as the practice was looking hopeless Rosella waved her hands more and more "LUX IACULAT!" she shouted and a burst of lighting exited her palm and shot through the straw roof. Everyone in the room looked at her smoking hand, as she nervously laughed and held it close, blowing the smoke away "Ow, Ow!" Merlin looked up and noticed the straw roof ablaze, and waved his cane "Aqua Slientium!" the water flowed through his cane and extinguished the fire quickly. He looked behind him, As Archimedes flew to a drawer and pulled out a bandage. He landed next to Rosella and started to bind her hand "Now see? They're should be a level one! Her hand was burned!"

Rosella shook her head "Maybe this was a bad idea.. I mean, we really don't know what exactly this is for."

Merlin took over the duty of binding her hand "It was just a little mistake, but this was no bad idea, you are destined for this! And I am sure of it!" He grabbed her hand and noticed the small and red burn mark "We can control your powers.."

Bastian looked over at Rosella with concern "What else are we going to do?"

Merlin took off his glasses and rubbed his eyes "Well, I can see we should take this lesson into consideration.. I'll see you both tomorrow.. But Bastian needs a proper education so I will have Archenemies give him lessons through the day."

Archimedes pouted "Oh NO! I am not playing babysitter while you get to relax! I already had enough with Arthur! I don't need ANY of this!"

Merlin smiled "Now, Now! Don't argue with me Archimedes, I'll turn you into a human! Don't think I don't know the incantation!"

His feathers began to ruffle, just at the thought of it "Phooey! Fine!" he looked at the boy "This boy better listen to me! I may be just an old owl but I still have as much knowledge as you Merlin." He shivered and stuffed himself in his bird house, slamming the door.

Merlin opened the door "Have a good night children.. Keep practicing, but in a safe area of course." He saw Rosella "Oh and Rosella?"

"Yes Merlin?"

"I would like to meet you tomorrow night.. I think we are getting somewhere with these spells!" he rubbed his chin "And one other thing.. make sure you turn right at the broken sign. The wolves are known to be very bloodthirsty.. or so I've heard."

She quirked an eyebrow and smiled "Thanks.. have a goodnight Merlin."

Zephr and the others stood outside of the house of mouse, as Mickey paced back and forth. "This is not good.. Zephr are you sure that was the last cable?"

Zephr combed a hand through his light brown hair "Positive sir, but it looks like it's been cut."

"I smell a rat. Or a cat." Donald huffed and looked behind him at Rosella and Bastian following quickly behind "Sorry guys, looks like no show tonight."

Bastian looked around "What?! Why?"

Goofy interrupted "The electric cable burst.. or has been cut." He shrugged his shoulders "Gwarsh if we have no electricity, we have no show.. Pete and Daniel are going to shut us down for sure!"

"That's right!" Pete shouted "Looks like your last time to show off! Isn't it mouse!" he laughed along with Daniel. Derek rolled his eyes and noticed Rosella sneak away. He huffed "Look, the club is not closing down.. we will find a way."

"Not with that cable busted!" Pete's large belly jiggled as he laughed "You have no chance! This club is-"

Suddenly, the lights were back on through the entire venue. The lights on the sign lit up as Mickey jumped in surprise "Hot dog! We're back in business!"

Daniel huffed "But how! I made sure that-" Pete grabbed his collar "What?"

"This is all your fault!" he dragged him back.

Rosella met the group as the crowd surrounded her. Mickey looked at her with wide eyes "Rosella? Did you do this?" Rosella nodded as Zephr touched her shoulders "But how? I checked the cables.. they were burnt out! Nothing could have fixed it but some other source of electricity…"

"Lucky I guess?"

Goofy grabbed her hand and raised it in the air "Lucky or a bonafide genius! A-Hyuck!" everyone cheered as Mickey smiled "Wowee! Thanks for your help Rosella!" everyone made their way back into the lit club, just as Zephr pulled her to the side "Hey Rosella?"

"Yeah?" she nervously looked up at him.

Zephr smiled "I was thinking.. if you're not busy.. I understand. But I would like to maybe?.. um go out? I'm afraid I'm not very good at this."

"A date? Yes I'd love to."

His hazel eyes became bright "Yes! R-Really?" he smiled "Friday?"

"Sure." She continued to smile as Zephr walked inside "See you then!"

Rosella sighed and walked into the club, just as Daniel and Bastian watched her go in "I don't like him.. or trust him." Bastian crossed his arms.

Daniel huffed "You and I both."
