Last time on Deity: Xavier learns that her mutant ability isn't actually the abilities they've seen, but instead it has something to do with her DNA. Lilly gets more mutant DNA pushed into her.
Chapter 13- Rescue
They injected Xavier's DNA into Lilly. Her body convulsed, and her heart stopped. That was when the room went into a panic. The boss started yelling angrily at everyone, and the doctor's quickly rushed to Lilly, trying to get her heart to beat again.
"So wha' t' plan?" Remy asked.
"First we gotta get out of here," Rogue stated.
"And just how are we going to do that?" Wanda asked.
"Don't worry, help is here," Xavier said.
A second later Shadowcat popped her head through the door.
"I found them!" Shadowcat shouted. She phased through the rest of the door, coming into the room. Nightcrawler popped in, while Jean, Storm, Cyclops and Iceman came in through the door. Shadowcat phased her hand through each control panel in the cell, causing it to short circuit, and the doors opened. Then she did it to the collars around their necks.
"What took you so long?" Logan teased.
"You were all a little hard to find unconscious," Jean replied.
"Lilly's in the next room, let's move," Cyclops commanded.
Logan carried Xavier on his back as they exited through the door for the cell room. They were in a very long hallway that stretched horizontally. In front of them was another door. Phasing through, Shadowcat poked her head through, taking a look around before exiting the door.
"She's definitely in there. But, like, I don't think she has much longer," Shadowcat stated.
Before anyone could say a word, Remy barged through the door just as a doctor revived Lilly's heartbeat, waking her up. Lilly screamed, sitting up out of the water, her eyes glowing silver. Her scream stopped everyone in their tracks, and for the briefest of moments, everything was silent. Lilly stood up, the wires detaching from her body. Power and energy radiated around her body.
"We need to get out of here now!" Logan shouted over a ferocious wind that was starting to build up and grow in power.
"Non, we have t' save her," Remy yelled.
"No Cajun, she's about to go on a rampage. Trust me, the best thing to do is to retreat and circle back," Logan stated.
The X-men and Wanda left the facility, going up a hill close by, where the Blackbird had been parked. They placed Xavier in the Blackbird and then came back outside.
Lilly wasn't sure what was going on anymore. Her mind was numb. She was lost and confused. Some guards shot her, piercing her arm, leg and chest. She looked down at the wounds and saw the bullets being pushed out as her body healed. She sent a lightning bolt out at the men, shocking them more than she meant to, but for some reason, she still couldn't stop. It was like her body and mind were acting of their own accord.
"Lilly, it's okay, we're here. Just calm down, we'll get you out of there," Xavier communicated to Lilly telepathicaly.
She lost it even more then. She had attempted to communicate to Xavier, but instead reached inside everyone's mind within a 10 mile radius, causing them to shout out and writhe in pain. Xavier put a mental barrier up around his X-men. A giant tornado rose up from the facility, turning it into rubble, blasting guardsmen from it in every direction.
"Nightcrawler, try teleporting Rogue over there. We have to knock her out," Cyclops commanded.
"You sure t'at be t' best way?" Remy questioned.
"Right now, it's the only way!" Logan shouted over the wind.
"Okay zen. Here ve go!" Nightcrawler said, holding onto Rogue.
He teleported Rogue, who touched Lilly's cheek with her bare hand but it did nothing. Instead Lilly sent both of them flying. Storm and Logan caught them.
Lilly made large roots grow up from the ground and sent them towards the X-men. Cyclops blasted it away, Logan slashed, Shadowcat phased, and they all just tried not to get hit. Xavier knew that he could reach her mind, and he also knew that he was going to have to do something he didn't want to do. He fired several psychic blasts at Lilly until she fell from the sky. Before hitting the ground, she caught herself and floated a little bit above ground. She turned on Xavier and sent psychic blasts back at him.
"Distract her," Xavier said.
The X-men went to work on trying to blast or hit Lilly, without causing a lot of damage to her. Xavier went to work, hitting her telepathically while putting some mental barriers around her mind. She finally lost consciousness and fell from the sky. Remy leapt up and caught her before she crashed into the earth. The X-men boarded the Blackbird and headed home, weary and beat.
