Last time on Deity: Xavier works with Lilly and even brought in a blast from the past, Hidashi!

Chapter 17- Hidashi, Shadow, and Remy

Hidashi sits in Xavier's office. Logan and Ororo were also there.

"The last thing I saw in Lilly's memories were you fighting with that man. What happened that night?" Xavier asked.

"Well, you probably know that Granny Agatha has the ability to seal mutant's powers. She was also a teleporter. After Granny sealed Lilly again, she teleported far away with her. She came back without Lilly, and while I had Shadow distracted, Granny sealed his powers. A servant of his threw a spike into her chest. They escaped with Shadow while I watched Granny die in my arms. Her last words were 'I love you' and 'protect her.' Before I could ask where Lilly was, Granny died," Hidashi explained. "I've been looking for Lilly ever since."

"You mentioned Shadow. Lilly's parents were also concerned about Shadow," Xavier stated.

"Yes. I did some digging on my hunt and discovered that Shadow was best friends with Stefan, Lilly's father, but after both fell in love with Aurnia, it ended. Not at first mind you. You see, Stefan wooed her, and Shadow tried to possess her. He's a very selfish man. He wanted her strength, her powers, and I think a part of him even wanted her heart and compassion all to himself. When he lost, he disappeared. When he discovered they had a child, he returned and tried to take her. So they took her to Granny."

"Something's bugging me. When she was at the mansion, how did he not find her?" Logan questioned.

"Her parents left, and her powers were sealed, so he couldn't get an energy signature off of her. Until, that is, her powers manifested, but even then it took him nearly three years to find her," Hidashi answered.

"Do you believe this Shadow will come for her again?" Ororo asked.

"Definitely. When her powers activated this last time, so did his, I can almost guarantee it" Hidashi replied.

Their conversation ended when they started to feel the earth tremble and shake. Hidashi immediately jumped up and ran to Lilly's room. She was tossing, turning and yelling in her sleep. Remy was a step ahead of him and woke her up from her sleep. As soon as she woke up, the earthquake stopped and Lilly clutched onto Remy. Hidashi quietly left the room.

Another week passed, and slowly Xavier, Remy and Hidashi helped Lilly with her abilities. She finally felt comfortable enough to interact with other people again. It was another boring day at the school, mostly because Lilly didn't have to do any of the classes anymore. Xavier thought that her time would be better spent learning to master her abilities. Also, since she was 18, he would have her take an exam to test her knowledge and earn her diploma, when she was ready.

Hidashi was in a meeting with Xavier, so Lilly decided to walk the grounds, coming to rest under the comfort of her favorite tree. Now she understood her love for the trees and flowers, and why it was the easiest ability for her to control. Remy walked up and sat next to her.

"How you feelin' chere?" Remy asked.

"Better. Thank you Remy."

"Listen, chere, I hate askin' tis ques'ion an' all, but wha' be yor feelins for Hidashi?" Remy questioned.

"Feelings? Are you asking if I love him?" Lilly asked.

"Oui."

"I didn't know about him until recently. In the past I always saw him as an older brother. So I guess, yes, I love him, but as a brother," Lilly said.

"I see. An' me?"

"About you? Well, I care for you deeply Remy. I know we haven't really known each other for that terribly long, but I feel like you are someone I can trust with my heart," Lilly said, blushing. "And how do you feel, about me?"

"Hm?"

"Do you...do you love me?" Lilly asked shyly.

"Oh chere, I t'ink I be mo'e in love wit' you, t'en you wit' me. You always be on ma' min' ," Remy answered, causing her to blush and smile. "You ha' me so worrie' bou' you."

"I'm so sorry Remy. I'll do my best to make sure that doesn't happen again."

"I know chere. Well, I bes' be goin' now. Be seein' you," Remy said.

"Okay Remy, I'll see you arou-" Lilly started, before being cut off by a quick kiss from him. She blushed a deep red. He winked at her and then left her to her tree.

Hidashi watched as Remy kiss Lilly before walking away. Xavier rolled into the room.

"Hello Hidashi," Xavier said.

"Hello Professor. I had a few things I needed to discuss with you."

"Of course. How may I help you?" Xavier asked.

"Well, you told me that when her DNA mixes with another mutants, then she acquires that mutant's ability. She obtained my control over water, but not my ability to transform into a gargoyle. But why not?" Hidashi questioned.

"I have been wondering that myself. There are many things about her ability that I am not familiar with and just don't understand. I have Hank working on trying to find an answer for us already though," Xavier answered.

"I see, thank you for that."

"Of course. Was there anything else I can help you with?"

"Oh, yes! I have that research you had asked me to get for you," Hidashi answered.

"Most excellent, thank you for this Hidashi."

"You're welcome Professor. You helped me find her, I owe you a great deal for that," Hidashi said.

"Consider us even for this," Xavier said.

"Thanks, Professor."
