Nobody went near Gibbs after the team arrived back at Head Quarters. The way the older agent drove on to the Vance's house and then back to HQ. Showed just how much his blood was boiling. When he called McGee and learned that the junior agent was just pulling into the hospital parking lot with Abby and Bishop. He demanded that all three get in his car immediately. When Bishop took too long he grabbed her by the collar and pulled her from McGee's car to his own. Things had only gotten worse when he got ticketed. All because he made the mistake of speeding through a stop-light in a non-agency car. At this time he was slamming his fingers into the keyboard and muttering curse words under his breath. McGee and Bishop watched intently fully expecting him to pick up the computer and throw it clear across the room in a fit of rage.
"What the hell are you looking at?!" Gibbs demanded.
"Nothing" Bishop replied nervously.
"Just watching you work." McGee replied.
"Why the hell are you watching me work?! You should be working yourselves!" Gibbs snapped.
"We are we were just..." McGee started.
"I DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT! GET YOUR ASS TO WORK NOW OR I WILL FIND SOMEBODY WHO WILL!" Gibbs snapped.
"That was pretty mean. What's next are you going to forbid us to use the bathroom?" Bishop asked.
"DON'T BE RIDICULOUS! AND DON'T QUESTION HOW I WORK!" Gibbs snapped.
"Boss maybe you should lie down." McGee suggested.
"LIE DOWN?! LIE DOWN?! YOU WANT ME TO LIE DOWN!? TELL ME SOMETHING MCGEE IF IT WAS YOUR KID MISSING WOULD YOU WANT ME TO LIE DOWN OR IS IT JUST BECAUSE IT'S TONY'S KIDS THAT YOU DON'T CARE?!" Gibbs demanded.
"It's not that I don't care. It's that you are really flipping out really bad and I don't want you to put yourself at risk." McGee explained.
"DON'T BE AN IDIOT AND GET TO WORK!" Gibbs snapped.
"AGENT GIBBS! MY OFFICE NOW!" Vance called from the balcony.
"NOT NOW LEON!" Gibbs snapped.
"IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR JOB IT'S NOW!" Vance warned.
"FINE!" Gibbs shouted slamming his fist on to his desk.
Gibbs stormed up to Leon's office. Wondering what exactly was so important that the director felt it was necessary to drag him away from the case. Was it possible that he didn't really care that Sadie was missing? Granted Jared was hurt pretty badly but Sadie was kidnapped. The last thing on earth he wanted was for his son to wake up and learn that his baby girl was missing. Yet nobody else seemed to care about that. Except for Palmer but that poor kid had too much going on right now. For Gibbs to expect him to be devoted to the case. Right now Breena needed to be his main priority. The others had no excuses. Delilah was doing great and so was Bishop's husband.
"What the hell do you want?!" Gibbs demanded flinging the door to the director's office open.
"Please sit down Agent Gibbs." Vance replied.
"Just tell me why the hell you are calling me up to your God Dammed office!" Gibbs ordered.
"You should know why you are up here." Vance replied.
"Oh really I should know why? Maybe you should know why my foot is up your ass!" Gibbs barked.
"Gibbs I could hear you screaming at Agents Bishop and McGee from up here with my door closed. That type of treatment from a boss unprovoked is completely unacceptable." Vance explained.
"They weren't doing shit!" Gibbs snapped.
"From what I saw both of them are working extremely hard. Even with your verbal abuse. It is obvious to me that you are far to emotional right now." Vance explained.
"Don't you dare take me off the case!" Gibbs warned.
"I cannot promise that I won't but if you take a short nap then prove to me that you have calmed down considerably and apologize to your agents. I will let you back on if not you are off." Vance explained,
"How the hell am I supposed to sleep?!" Gibbs demanded.
"Here drink this I got it from Dr. Mallard. It's supposed to mellow you and help you sleep." Vance explained.
Jimmy sat at Tony's bedside Tony in the hospital. He had left briefly and found a voice-mail from Ed explaining that he was at Georgetown and had visited briefly with Breena but she was not up for visitors at the time. He had been in Tony's room ever since. Even though Tony was currently getting a brain-scan. The doctors were hoping to determine why Tony wasn't waking up and maybe get an idea as to why his heart stopped. Jimmy was praying for good news the main thing he wanted was for Tony to come back awake and Tony-like. Of course he would settle for just news that Tony was going to wake up and be OK. Jimmy felt crushing disappointment when Tony was wheeled back in the room still comatose and stilled hooked up to a ventilator.
"Jimmy where is Gibbs?" Dr. Pitt questioned.
"He had to go back to work." Jimmy replied.
"What case would pull Gibbs away from Tony's side when he is in this state?" Dr. Pitt asked.
"Sadie was kidnapped." Jimmy replied.
"Can't this poor guy catch a break?" Dr. Pitt asked looking down at Tony.
"It doesn't seem like it." Jimmy sighed.
"Since Gibbs isn't here I guess I will share Tony's results with you when they come in." Dr. Pitt replied.
"OK" Jimmy replied.
"Brad you can't share that information with anybody that isn't a medical proxy." Another doctor whispered.
"I have permission." Jimmy assured.
After the doctors left Jimmy reached over and picked up his friend's hand into his own. He considered giving Tony another order. Unfortunately the last one had seemingly fallen on deaf ears. So he just sat by his friend's side and prayed and waited. Until Dr. Pitt came back in the room with a disturbed look on his face. Jimmy felt sick fully anticipating bad news.
"Still no Gibbs huh?" Dr. Pitt asked.
"Nope" Jimmy replied.
"Well I have the results." Dr. Pitt replied.
"Is Tony dying? Is he brain-dead? Do I need to call Gibbs?" Jimmy questioned.
"Here's the thing Tony's scan is fine. He should be awake." Dr. Pitt explained.
"Then why isn't he?" Jimmy asked.
"I have good reason to believe the coma is a psychological reaction possibly even his heart stopping. Did he hear anything that may be causing him to not want to wake up?" Dr. Pitt questioned.
"Gibbs was very careful what he said around Tony." Jimmy replied.
"What about you?" Dr. Pitt asked.
"Oh God. I know what's wrong. I know why he is like this." Jimmy replied.
A/N: Will Jimmy be able to convince Tony he isn't angry at him? New chapter will be up soon. Please review and thanks for reading.
