The next time Gibbs woke up was around eight in the morning. Tony was sill sound asleep in the bed beside him. He wondered if Tony would remember the conversation that had taken place before sunrise. Even if Tony didn't have any recall of the dream or their conversation. Gibbs hoped that he would at least remember how much so many people needed him. Of course Gibbs was not going to let his boy out of his sight for a while. If he had to leave him behind he would make sure that Sadie was around. No matter how messed up Tony was he wouldn't try anything with Sadie in the house. Tony's mom had died of presumably cancer in the hospital but he had found his favorite nanny dead on the floor of her room with a bottle of pills in her hand. It had left a horrible emotional scar. Gibbs only found out because Tony let it slip after a bad case. The memory was so horrible for him that he cried and vomited just from telling the story. Gibbs tucked him into the guest bed and stayed with him until he relaxed a little. Tony would never risk Sadie having that experience and if he was messed up enough to not care about Sadie. Gibbs would have the sense not to leave him alone. At least right now Tony seemed to not be in that deep of a depressive state. He would watch him like a hawk and if Tony started acting that damaged. He would drag Tony and Sadie everywhere with him. Tony stirred in the bed and let out a soft moan. Before sitting up, turning around, and looking him in the eyes.
"Morning sleepyhead." Gibbs greeted.
"What time is it?" Tony asked.
"About nine-thirty." Gibbs replied.
"Sorry I slept so late." Tony apologized.
"Rule six Tony besides you've had a rough week. You need you're sleep." Gibbs replied.
"I slept for four days." Tony mumbled.
"You also took a few severe blows to the head, had internal injuries which led to bleeding, and had major surgery." Gibbs replied.
"Not as much as poor Breena and Jimmy." Tony sighed.
"Don't you dare start this again. None of it is your fault and you should also know that Dr. Pitt cleared me to Gibbs Slap you." Gibbs warned.
"It's just hard you know?" Tony questioned.
"I do I have struggled with self-doubt before Tony. I know how hard it is." Gibbs replied.
"I hope I never have to talk Sadie through these feelings." Tony said.
"Well if she does feel that way. She is lucky to have a dad who understands what she is going through and will support her no matter what." Gibbs assured.
"Just like I have through you." Tony observed.
"Bingo" Gibbs replied.
"I know you aren't my dad but you said that it was almost guaranteed that I was related to you somehow. Do you have any idea how?" Tony questioned.
"Actually I do." Gibbs replied.
"How?" Tony asked.
"Didn't you say your mom was adopted?" Gibbs questioned.
"Yeah from a small town in America." Tony replied.
"My dad had a younger sister who was around fifteen years younger than him and was adopted by an English family." Gibbs explained.
"Why was she adopted out?" Tony asked.
"My grandmother died in child-birth and my grandfather was paralyzed in a collapse at the mine not long before she was born. He only regained limited use of his left arm. He couldn't care for the baby or even look at her. So he handed her over to the hospital." Gibbs explained.
"Did Jack have to care for his father? That must have been hard on a teenager." Tony questioned.
"No the Moore family moved in and took over the farm work and Mrs. Moore LJ's mom cared for my grandfather." Gibbs explained.
"That's how Jack and LJ knew each other in high school." Tony commented.
"Yep" Gibbs replied.
"What else do you know about my mother?" Tony asked.
"Her name was Angela." Gibbs replied.
"That was my mom's name." Tony gasped.
"Is she is the same Angela. She was born on August 17th 1936." Gibbs started.
"That was her birthday" Tony replied.
"She was adopted by the Paddington Family. They had immigrated to America and settled in Stillwater about ten years earlier. They ended up moving back to England three years later after their eldest was killed in World War Two. They had always kept in contact with my dad and grandfather even after the move. When Angela grew-up she sent a Christmas card every year. When I was fourteen in nineteen-seventy-three. She sent us a birth announcement for a beautiful baby boy named Tony. I saw that card in my dad's store for years but never realized who it was. I was twenty-two, a young Marine and engaged to Shannon when she died in nineteen-eighty-one." Gibbs explained.
"So you are my Uncle Jethro?" Tony asked.
"Yes your uncle who took you in and cared for you. Because your father didn't care to give you the love you deserve." Gibbs explained.
"Just what I needed." Tony replied.
McGee was the only one of the NCIS family at the office. Abby was taking care of Sadie, Tony was still in the hospital and Gibbs was with him, Vance was with his children, Ducky was with Jimmy at the hospital because Breena wasn't doing well, and Bishop was gone. She had packed everything and left the night before. McGee had no real reason to be there but he didn't really know where else to go. He looked at the empty desk and wondered who would be filling this desk this time. The elevator door slid open and a person walked into the squad-room. Somebody McGee was sure he would never see again.
"Ziva?" McGee gasped.
A/N: Finally an explanation on how Gibbs and Tony are related. Not sure how plausible the story is but it's only fiction. Since I was kind of hard on McGee in this story and when I wasn't making him out to be a monster I was ignoring him. So I think it's fair that he's the first to encounter Ziva. New chapter will be up soon. Please review and thanks for reading.
