When Director Vance first called her and asked her if she wanted her old back. Ziva was confused and unsure of what to do. As much as she missed the old gang she had basically abandoned them. She had said her goodbyes to Tony on the tarmac and called Gibbs but only because Tony insisted. Then she was out of their lives. She wondered if they even missed her or if they had moved on leaving her behind. The truth was she missed them every day. She just needed to get away from everything for a while. She had started seeing a therapist not long after moving back to Israel. She had rejoined Mossad very briefly. Less than a month in fact. Before realizing she was actually more miserable their than she had been at the end of her time at NCIS. She had found a job at a produce market near the house she had grown-up in everything was going great. Then a few months later the market was destroyed in a bombing by Hamas. She had overslept and was walking to work when the explosion happened. She remembered being knocked off her feet and nearly being trampled by the people running in the opposite direction. Bombings had happened almost every day in her childhood and she'd had more close calls than she cared to remember but something about this attack was different. She spent the next week cowering in her house. When the market reopened at limited capacity a week later. Her friend Mona had come looking for her seeing if she wanted to return. That's when she made her decision. She packed up her belongings and returned to America. She hadn't officially renounced her citizenship. Her time with Mossad was more or less interning considering she hadn't lasted long enough to get a paycheck. She had tried to maintain a low profile until she could get things sorted. Director Vance had only known she was back because Kayla had run up to her in the grocery store one day. About a week later she got the call from Leon that Bishop was leaving and they needed a replacement. Nothing was official yet but she figured she would at least give a shot. It couldn't hurt to try. Could it? She didn't officially start until Monday but Saturday afternoon she found herself near the Navy Yard and figured she would pop in and get reacquainted with her old teammates. Except when she got to the office nobody was there. The lights were off in both Autopsy and Abby's lab. When she got up to the squad-room. She found only one occupant or their bullpen it was McGee. Where had everybody gone? Was there a case. If so why was McGee there but nobody else? Was he hurt or had he been benched for some reason.

"Ziva?" McGee gasped.

"McGee? Where is everybody?" Ziva asked.

"It's a long story." McGee replied.

"I've got time." Ziva replied.

"What are you doing here anyway?" McGee asked.

"I may be rejoining the team." Ziva replied.

"Really?" McGee asked.

"Yes I moved back to the states after my work place was blown up by Hamas. I guess I came back about three months ago. I was trying to keep a low profile until I got certain things worked out with my citizenship. Then about two weeks ago I ran into Vance and his kids in the grocery store. We talked for a while and last Monday he called me and informed me that my replacement Bishop was leaving and there was an opening on the team. He offered me my old job back and I was going to come back Monday to see how things went. I was out today and popped in to see how everybody was doing. Except nobody is here. Is there a case? Did something happen?" Ziva explained.

"Oh yeah something happened." McGee replied.

"What?" Ziva asked.

"Everything" McGee replied.

"What do you mean?" Ziva asked.

"Well it started a few months ago. See it turns out Tony has a daughter he didn't know about. Sadie's mother lied to him and said the rich guy she was dating as well was the father. Then something happened and she was caught. When Tony went to pick her up her mom was gone. So Gibbs and him called child services and reported her. After that Tony got sole custody of her. Things were going pretty well and then one night Tony was horsing around with Sadie and he stopped breathing. Jimmy called 911 while Gibbs got Tony breathing again. Turns out Tony has asthma but they did some blood-work to be safe and it came up showing possible leukemia." McGee explained.

"Is everybody gone because Tony has cancer?!" Ziva gasped.

"No it wasn't cancer it was just mono but he had to stay out of work for a while. He didn't want to inconvenience Gibbs either. So they had Breena come and stay with him during the day and Gibbs would take Sadie to daycare in the morning. Then pick her up at night. Everything was going great until Senior showed up one day. He was convinced that Tony's cancer scare was just a scheme to get money. He started attacking Tony and when Breena tried to intervene he attacked her too. By the time Gibbs got there Tony was unconscious from a severe head-wound and bleeding internally and Breena was miscarrying Jimmy's child. Thankfully he hadn't done too much damage to Sadie. Later that night Vance who had been watching Sadie called in a panic. She had been kidnapped and Jared had been attacked. It was Senior. We all started a frantic search for Sadie. The next day Senior took Breena. He was about to rape her while Sadie hid in the corner. When we found them. Breena was rushed back to the hospital she had pain and they found a tumor in her liver. It wasn't cancerous but she has a severe infection as a result of everything. She can't have anymore children. Meanwhile Tony was in a coma for four days fighting all these demons. When Gibbs finally got him to wake up he became depressed and almost attempted suicide. Gibbs got to him just in time and talked him down. Now Abby is with Sadie, Vance is with his kids, Ducky is with Jimmy and Breena in the hospital and Gibbs is hopefully bringing Tony home as we speak." McGee explained.

"Where is DiNozzo Senior now?" Ziva asked trying to absorb everything she had just heard.

"Gibbs put a bullet in his head." McGee replied.

"That's our Gibbs." Ziva joked.

"Are you OK? You look a little pale." McGee questioned.

"I just had a lot to take in." Ziva replied.

"I'm having trouble processing it and I was there." McGee replied.

"Hey McGee?" Ziva asked.

"What is it Ziva?" McGee questioned.

"Do you think that Tony is going to be up for visitors when he gets home?" Ziva asked.

"I don't know but he and Sadie are staying with Gibbs, so I can call him and see how Tony is doing. If not Tony will be back to work soon." McGee explained.
