Chapter Eight: - Pride Goeth… And all that Jazz Part.3.

Xander and Jenny cast Dawn's handiwork an introspective gaze. "Nicely done… Fasha." Xander called out as he walked past SG – 1 with Jenny following close behind him. When she neared the blonde human in the group she looked at her for a moment as Carter still watched Dawn. Her eyes went wide a moment later with recognition.

"A little showboaty in my opinion, Tora." Celeria said as she cast a level gaze at Fasha, who in retaliation stuck her tongue out at her in response. Xander chuckled at the byplay between the two as SG – 1 looked on.

Dawn walked forward smirking as she watched SG – 1 and their Jaffa allies tense up; she gave the old man amongst them a shark's grin as she past them and re – joined Xander and Jenny.

"Now then…" Tora began as he and the others turned towards SG – 1. "What are a group of human's doing aboard a Goa'uld ship with two Jaffa? More to the point, how did you get here?" He asked, wanting to know just how the US military knew about the existence of extra – terrestrial's.

"It was our understanding that humanity in general hadn't even gone past the moon yet in manned spaceflight, so this is quite a surprise." Celeria then posited. "We saw none of those quaint little shuttles you have parked outside."

Their questions were met with silence which made the three Neo – Saiyan's grin at the uncomfortable looks that the human members of SG – 1 now sported. O'Neill grimaced when the woman, Celeria mentioned that Earth hadn't even sent an astronaut past the moon yet. The ramifications of that were startling to him, it meant that whoever or whatever race these three belonged to, they had been observing Earth.

Xander and Dawn were cackling on the inside as they could tell that the leader of SG – 1 was now thinking that Earth was currently being monitored by their race. Xander glanced at Jenny, he could see that she was trying to maintain her composure herself, but he saw a brief twitch of her lips at the corner of her mouth.

"Well?" Celeria repeated bringing Jack's train of thought back to the here and now.

Reluctantly, Jack answered not knowing that his answers were going to satisfy Xander's curiosity. "… Like I said, we came here to prevent these ships from attacking Earth. We came here by Stargate."

"Stargate. What's that?" Fasha asked whilst Xander and Jenny made a mental note to look up any information on the Stargate when they got back to the Library.

This surprised the mixed group yet again as they assumed that the three knew about the Stargate Network. "You uh, don't know about the Stargate?" Daniel spoke up hesitantly.

"If we did, would we be asking?" Fasha shot back with a bite to her words.

"Um, no probably not." Daniel said then nodded at the girl's logic. Mainly he didn't want to make her mad at him and blast him and his friends into atoms. "Well, uh, it's a device that allows instantaneous transport between planets by creating a wormhole…" He continued.

"Fascinating…" Celeria drawled but on the inside she was very interested in hearing about the gate. Jenny's inner geek salivated at the thought of studying such a device. She was eager to see how such a thing worked.

"Now you…" Jack spoke at the three, which amused them greatly. "How and why are you three here?" He asked.

"Heh…" Chuckled Xander. "Well, we detected these ships as they entered into a geostationary orbit above your planet." He finished.

Again, a cold shiver ran down O'Neill's back as the ramifications of what he was hearing made itself apparent to him; he looked at Carter and Daniel and saw the same look dawn on them as well. "And where were you when they arrived?"

All three Neo – Saiyan's smirked. "We were on your planet." Tora said, taking great pride at the unease and discomfort he saw as he watched O'Neill close his eyes and rub his forehead. Grabbing Jenny's hand, he whispered to her. "Play along."

But Jenny grabbed his hand when let go of hers and hissed: "No! Don't complicate an already difficult situation, Xander." She said as he frowned at her. "We tell them nothing! We don't need them finding out about the hellmouth. And us if they manage to discover the truth."

"…Fine." Xander tsked at her, but he saw the sense in her warning. He chalked it up to his Saiyan nature wanting to play with the humans a little bit.

Horrified at the thought of a possible foothold situation that they didn't even know about occurring on their planet, SG – 1 gripped their weapons tightly just in case. "Why were you on Earth?" Carter asked.

It was Jenny who spoke first when she had finished chiding Xander. "We can't tell you that."

"Why's that? Can't, or won't?" Asked Jack.

The Neo – Saiyan's regarded all three for a moment as they considered their response. If they said they were here to invade then they knew that the group before them would attack and fail before they even fired off a single round. If they said they were here to colonise the Earth, they knew that they would react less violently, but still be on their guard.

Another option would be not to tell them anything more. Xander considered things carefully; he really didn't want to hurt these people. "Can't. Operational security."

"Yeah, we're gonna need a bit more than that." Jack snarked, but just then…

"Tau'ri, kree!" A Jaffa shouted as everyone heard a staff weapon being primed for firing. Reacting on instinct, SG – 1 raised their weapons and turned to fire only to see Apophis and Klorel standing there amongst a group of Jaffa.

"No you're not." Xander replied to Jack's comment before they all focused on Apophis. The three Saiyans observed the two important looking people amongst the group of Jaffa and knew that they were the ones in charge. They didn't know how far up the chain of command they were but they could tell that these two had some weight to pull amongst the warrior soldiers.

"Tau'ri, you will lower your weapons and surrender and your deaths will be quick." Apophis stated to them. When his gaze looked upon the three blood coated Saiyans who were smirking at the spectacle, the false god made his eyes flash at their impudence.

"And who is this moron and the kid dressed like a woman?" Fasha asked as she cracked her knuckles eagerly.

"He is…" Teal'c started to say, but his former master interrupted him.

"Impudent child; I am your god, Apophis. You shall Kneel and I may let you live to serve your god." He said looking at the young girl that dared to speak to him like that. Klorel looked on as he began to back up. He had figured out that these three unknowns were the ones that had damaged his father's Ha'tak. He looked at them; covered head to toe in red blood and seeing a few splotches of blue ichor that he knew were from Goa'uld symbionts. Klorel had no allusion as to how the three appeared so… covered. These three, he knew were more dangerous than the Tau'ri could ever hope to be.

"So you're the one in charge?" Tora said as he stepped forward in front of Fasha; Celeria trailing behind him. "Fasha, you've had your turn. Now it's my…" Tora said just before Celeria flashed forward out of SG – 1's and the Jaffa's sight. A brief moment passed and Celeria reappeared right in front of Apophis and Klorel. "Hey! Not fair, Celeria." He called out to her when she reappeared startling them.

"You've killed enough Jaffa, Tora. Stop complaining; you've won the bet after all. I think it's safe to say that our little game is over now." Celeria said as she turned back towards the others. Jenny said with a cheeky look directed at the young male. "Don't think I'll make it easy on you though." She finished before she moved to turn back towards Apophis, she caught the look of the blonde haired woman in the group and frowned just for the briefest of seconds before she turned away thinking. 'Is that… Sam?' She thought. 'Sam Carter?'

Xander went red a little bit in the face before he rallied fast enough for SG – 1 to notice. "Fine then, Celeria; kill them all and let's go home."

Apophis was too angered to see the danger he was in. He even missed Klorel trying to sneak away. O'Neill sensed an opportunity before Celeria cut loose. "Hey wait…!" He called out as he moved forward but the Jaffa fired their staff weapons then and Celeria moved as Tora and Fasha both pulled O'Neill back. Tora willed his Ki field into being around him and then concentrated as he expanded the field to cover SG – 1.

The changed teacher brought her Ki field into being around her surprising Apophis and his retinue. "HAAA!" Jenny shouted; she extended her arms out and used her Ki to push Apophis and a few of the Jaffa away.

"…Tell her not to kill Klorel! Tell her to save the boy!" Jack said grabbing Tora by the arm and trying to spin the alien warrior to face him. Tora wouldn't budge but he craned his neck to his left and regarded O'Neill for a moment.

"Why?" The Saiyan teen asked. "He's your enemy isn't he, shouldn't this… Klorel die to keep your world safe?"

"It's not the boy's fault. It's the Goa'uld inside of him." Jack replied amidst the screams of the dying enemy Jaffa that Jenny was killing. "His name is Skarra and the damn snake that's in his head is Klorel. Kill Apophis if you want but tell her to spare the boy."

"O'Neill!" Teal'c started.

"Sir!" Carter exclaimed.

"What?" Jack asked as he looked at his friend and the blonde.

"You can't just ask them to kill Apophis just like that!" Carter started. "Sir, we can take him prisoner… we can take both of them prisoner. The intel alone not to mention the fact that the host is an innocent..."

"You think he'll just tell us what we want to know, Carter?" The Colonel asked her with a realistic tone entering his voice.

"Jack…" Daniel started, Jack turned and interrupted him.

"What, Daniel? You as well?" He asked.

"Jack, he knows where Sha're is. If there's a way of saving her…" Daniel trailed off as his look conveyed to his friend just how close he was to finding his wife. "I have to take that chance."

"Damn it; do you really think he'll tell you where she is?"

"Jack, I have to at least try!" Daniel said.

"Daniel Jackson and Captain Carter are correct, O'Neill." Teal'c began. "As much as I would greatly like to see Apophis die for his crimes against the Jaffa and Tau'ri, it would be beneficial to Stargate Command and Earth to keep him alive." The Shol'va stated.

"Teal'c speaks truly, human." Bra'tac said putting his opinion into the mix.

"… fine." O'Neill said.

There was a wet plop – like sound that grabbed the attention of the group; as one all seven turned and watched as Jenny dropped the corpse of a Jaffa she was holding by the neck sans head. "Oh my god…" Carter said as she swallowed the bile rising in her throat at witnessing the sight. Was she sure that this was Jenny Calendar; the same girl that had a crush on her brother in high school? It sure sounded like her. Then Jenny turned towards Apophis, the Saiyan woman judged by the look on his face that the so called deity now realised how outmatched he and his Jaffa were against the woman. Funny, Jenny thought, covered in blood head to toe, she'd have thought he would've caught onto that fact sooner.

"Did you hear that, Apophis?" Jenny asked the false god, the woman's stare rooted him to the spot. "It seems you're just all sorts of popular with these Earther's, aren't you? Maybe I should just rip that worm out of your head?" She gloated as she spotted a rivulet of sweat rolling down the side of his host's face. She moved so fast and the false god flinched, thinking that he was next, but another squelching – like sound and the dying scream of the Jaffa to the right of him followed by a flash of energy that the damned demon woman had fired from her finger into the head of another blowing brain matter out the back of the dead Jaffa's head.

Jenny then jumped up into the air, turned into a tight somersault and landed behind Apophis and kicked out at two Jaffa on either side of her, hitting them both in their chests, she grinned ferally when she felt bone break and the Jaffa coughed up blood. Crumpling forwards the two warriors fell to the deck dead as broken bone pierced their hearts and lungs. Apophis had only one Jaffa left now and he threw his staff weapon to the ground and turned then ran, seeing that his god was not doing anything to stop the she – demon. And truthfully not even Apophis could blame him as he saw the coward run.

He had to escape; he had to get out of here. It was inconceivable to him that his revenge against the hated Tau'ri could've been derailed so quickly; he was so sure of victory. He was so sure that he would've made their miserable world burn. 'What are they? These are not Tau'ri; they are much stronger than the humans of the First World could ever be.' The false deity mused.

He tried to move away as the alien woman looked on in the direction that his last Jaffa ran, he palmed his ribbon device, the control node on the back of his wrist as he prepared to activate his personal shield.

'I must escape!' Klorel thought as he moved slowly away from the carnage; he saw how quickly the woman had killed his father's Jaffa; Klorel knew that he and Apophis stood no chance against her. 'I must get to the Tel'tak.' He thought as he moved. 'If just to spite the human, O'Neill, I will take small comfort in that I have robbed him of a chance to recover my host.' The worm thought.

"I don't think so, boy. Maybe I should kill you as well?" The devil woman called out as she noticed him trying to move away. It was like she read his mind; Apophis turned as well and saw that his son was trying to escape and leave him behind. "You're not going anywhere I don't allow you to."

"No!" Both Daniel and Jack shouted.

"You dare, Klorel!" Apophis called out to the boy host. "You would leave me here to die?"

"Father, please… I…" Klorel started but then…

*BBBBBOOOOOOMMMMM!*

Everyone turned to one another as the Ha'tak rocked slightly. "The C4! Colonel…" Carter started.

"I know, Captain."

Stargate Command

After Being debriefed about the current status of the two ships above the Earth, General Hammond walked into the control room and was approached by Sergeant Turner. "General Hammond, sir, Major Castleman reports Alpha teams Twelve and Thirteen have been briefed and are ready to disembark."

"Send them through." The General ordered. Turner turned and moved towards the gate controls and called out for the Alpha Teams to report to the Gate Room for disembarkation.

Colonel Samuels sat by the coffee machine commiserating about the end of his career, he was swirling a cup of coffee when he saw the General approach. "General Hammond, sir, maybe we shoulder using the Stargate as… as a strategic weapons platform."

"How so, Colonel?"

"By sending a bomb to the co – ordinates that Dr. Jackson was talking about. Or to Chulak." Samuels replied.

"We already tried to send a team through to Dr. Jackson's co – ordinates, it won't work. And I can't think of any military reason to wipe out the people of Chulak." Hammond replied.

Samuels sighed. "Well sir, since I am no longer wanted or needed here, I respectfully request permission to join one of the teams headed for the Alpha Site. At least there I…"

Hammond interrupted him, appalled by the man in front of him: "Permission denied. The idea is to send the best and brightest of humanity, Colonel. If and when the time comes, you will stand alongside the men and women of this command, in defence of this facility."

"But sir!"

"I ask no more or less of myself, Colonel. Dismissed!" Hammond finished, disgusted.

Suddenly, everyone cheered again drawing Hammond's attention. As the Hubble transmitted the images of the Ha'tak going up in a huge fireball; General Hammond and Major Davis looked at each other for a moment. "Sir, it's possible that the remaining Ha'tak, the one those three fired upon, has been too badly damaged to attack Earth." The Major stated. "Whoever… whatever those three were, they did hit that ship hard."

"I'm aware, Major." Hammond said. "In the meantime, send the next group through to the Alpha Site."

"Yes, sir." The Major responded.

"I'm going to contact the President." The General said.

Sunnydale Hospital

"Where are they, Giles?" Willow worried as she and the Watcher wondered where Xander, Jenny and Dawn could be. It had been almost an hour since Xander and Dawn had left after they had asked Giles about Spike and Willy's. The Watcher hadn't seen Jenny for a while as well since she had left to get some fresh air either; he couldn't help but wonder where the three of them could be.

"I don't know, Willow." The Watcher sighed; he had hoped that the two children would have returned by now. He knew he shouldn't have told Dawn about Spike, no matter that the vampire was now dead. God only knew what her current mental state was like now, but if what Willow had told him about these – these Saiyans that she knew about was true then the young girl was and would be perpetually angry for a long while yet.

"Rosenberg!" The redhead sighed again; this she didn't need to deal with right now.

"Cordelia…" She started as she and Giles turned towards the girl as they heard her coming down the corridor.

"Ms. Chase, I, uh, I'm…" Giles began amicably, but a look from the girl directed towards him conveyed that she wasn't interested in what he had to say.

"Save it, where's Dawn and the dweeb?" She asked; she looked around to see if Ms. Calendar was nearby as well but she couldn't see her either. "And where's Ms. Calendar?"

"Dawn… asked Giles about Spike earlier; she wanted to know who and what he was." She began. "He told them about a snitch that he knew about and they left! Ms. Calendar left soon after." Willow said as she rubbed her wrist where Jenny had grabbed her earlier. "We don't know where they are now. They've been gone for nearly an hour." Willow told her. Cordelia looked at her for a brief moment then briskly nodded. She turned and cast a gaze towards the room that Buffy's body had been placed in when Joyce was sitting with her.

"And what about…?" The queen of Sunnydale High began but Willow pre – empted her next question with her answer.

"She's dead, Cordelia. Her neck was broken." The redhead said with a sob. "Mrs. Summers has been with her body since she got here. The doctor's took Buffy… Mrs. Summers went with them." Willow started to break down again as she thought about how her friend was dead once again. What were they going to do now? Buffy was dead. Was another Slayer going to have to come here? Was Giles going to have to leave? What about Xander and Dawn? Ms. Calendar…?

"Those're all interesting questions you've got there, Red." Said a Brooklyn accented voice behind her. All three startled at the sound of the voice and spun around to see a shifty looking guy in a brown leather coat wearing a trilby and a cigarette hanging from the corner of his mouth. "But I can tell you, the pooch has been royally screwed tonight. None of this was supposed to happen."

"I say…" Giles began as he moved in front of Willow.

"Don't say anything, Watcher… Mind if I call you Ripper, or Rip?" The man said as he "Watcher just doesn't have the impact that it should." He finished.

Giles narrowed his gaze at the man that looked like a pimp from a 70's cop show when his old moniker was mentioned. Willow looked at him; didn't Ethan call him that earlier tonight? "Giles…"

"Not now, Willow." Giles said silencing her abruptly. "Who… what are you?" He asked as he fixed the pimp with a piercing stare.

"Name's Whistler, Ripper –"

"You won't call me that again, if you know what's good for you." Giles interrupted the pimp.

Whistler stopped and sighed. "Fine. Rip –" He caught the Watcher's gaze and saw the Brit's desire to give him a kicking flash in those darkened eyes for a moment before he felt the man's brief surge of magical power. "Okay, okay geez… dial it back on the mojo, G – man… heh, now I get why the kid calls you that. Funny."

"What are you?" The Watcher repeated grounding out the question.

"I'm a demon." The pimp started; he noticed all three human's tense up. "Relax, I'm a neutral. I'm a Balance Demon. I work for the Powers That Be."

"Who are the Powers That Be?" Cordelia asked.

"They're the Ones' in charge, Toots." Whistler said. He saw the girl narrow her eyes at him. Damn, the pimp thought: 'She's a Spitfire.'

"Why are you here?" Giles asked.

"I'm here to sort this mess out." Whistler said as he reached inside of his coat and pulled out a metal flask, he unscrewed the top and took a quick pull of the flask; he sighed contently as the bourbon went down easily.

"How?" Willow asked. Her hopes raised a little as she let herself believe that the demon would bring –

"Ah, ah, ah, gotta stop you there, Red." Whistler said surprising her, Giles and Cordelia looked on between the two. "I'm not here for that." He told her. "And yes, I can read your mind. And yours, Toots. Yours as well G – man. Damn, that name's catchy."

Willow eeped as she quickly clamped down on her thoughts. "Why not? Buffy shouldn't have to stay dead." She said emphatically.

"I know; she was a sweet kid an' all, but 'dems the breaks, Red. I was rootin' for her, she had guts." He said. Willow started to let the tears fall when she realised that Buffy was truly gone for good now. She hated the pimp a little for that.

"Sorry Red, but the Summers girl is gone and not coming back. She beat death once, she doesn't get another shot."

"I hate you." Willow said as she glared at the demon. Giles and Cordelia looked at the girl in surprise; there was such anger in her voice.

"Doesn't change a thing, Red." He told her.

"Why are you here exactly?" Giles asked forestalling Willow when he saw that she was going to do something that would probably get herself killed.

Whistler took another pull from his flask. "Everything's changed. Everything has been knocked off the axis. Ya gotta understand, the Powers had a plan; sure it was a shitty one if you ask my opinion but it was the one that had the best chance of succeeding." He took a pull of his smoke and exhaled. Willow watched as the Balance Demon looked at a no smoking sign and ignored it.

"What…?" Cordelia asked.

"The kid, Harris…" He began.

"Xander? What about him? Where is he?!" Willow shouted at the mention of his name. "What have you done to him? If you've hurt him, I'll…"

"Hehhehahahaha!" Whistler laughed as he looked at the redhead. After a few moments he calmed down and took a deep breath. "If I've hurt him, hahahaha. Red, I couldn't even hurt him if I wanted to. He's too powerful, him and the two chicks. You know what they're like now. They've thrown everything outta whack. Saiyans… man, Kryptonian's would've been so much easier to deal with, but no... the kid had to choose a race of killers!" Whistler muttered.

"Well, where are they then?" Willow asked. "We need them here!"

"No you don't, ya want them here; there's a difference." Whistler interrupted. When Willow and the Watcher pinned him with a glare, he sensed the Watcher's mojo surging again. "Ugh, fine… the kid, Harris and the girls are currently in high orbit above the planet fighting off an alien invasion from two ugly uppity little worms that belong to a race that like to use human beings as hosts and play at being gods to you humans."

As all three of them tried to process what the Balance Demon had just said to them they stood there staring at Whistler. It was Cordelia that broke the silence first: "What?!"

"Well, when I say fighting, I really mean slaughtering." Whistler reiterated with a tilt of his head.

Apophis' Ha'tak

"You will not kill me." Apophis said confidently looking at the devil woman. "The Tau'ri would not dare…"

"We're…" Jenny gestured between herself, Xander and Dawn. "… not Tau'ri… whatever that means." The devil woman stalked forward towards Apophis; fearing the wrath of the woman, the gold clad false god activated his personal shield in an attempt to protect himself.

Jenny stopped, surprised as she saw the amber coloured shimmer form up and surround Apophis into a solid energy field. She turned back and looked at Xander and Dawn and saw the momentary look of surprise on their faces as well before they schooled their looks into one of annoyance. Turning back to Apophis she spoke: "A personal force field, really?"

"You cannot harm me." Apophis stated before making his eyes glow.

Jenny smirked. "Heh, beg to differ." And with that Jenny flashed forwards with a fist raised, disappearing and instantly reappearing directly in front of Apophis. "HHHHAAAA!" Apophis' eyes widened as the she – demon's fist impacted against his force field. The others tensed as they waited. SG – 1 and Bra'tac watched as Celeria's fist collided with the field as it shimmered and rippled. The field rippled! And then Apophis was thrown backwards by the force of the devil woman's fists impact against part of the now crumpled inner hull.

"Holy Hannah!" Captain Carter stared wide – eyed at what just happened as did the rest of SG – 1; that should not have happened. From what she knew of the Goa'uld personal force field, their effectiveness was directly proportional to amount of kinetic energy released. It's why their guns were ineffective against them, because the bullets travelled at high speeds, the force shield countered with enough energy to defend its user against an attack. Now from what she's seen of these people they're strong, impossibly so, and fast but in this instance Celeria's strength shouldn't have even done that. 'The shield should've absorbed the energy the punch released!'

"Pathetic god." Celeria said before she spat on the ground and turned to Klorel who knew that he was next unless…

"Nice one, Cel." Fasha called out with a grin as she admired the carnage that Jenny had wrought. SG – 1 and the other two Saiyan's looked at where Apophis laid unmoving, his personal shield was still shimmering around his body before it finally gave out and died.

"Whoa!" O'Neill exclaimed as he looked at the unmoving form of Apophis before he looked to Klorel.

"That's impossible!" Carter exclaimed. "That shouldn't have happened…" Carter stepped forward towards Apophis' dead body, she saw how the false god's head rested at an unnatural angle. "That shouldn't have happened at all! I – I mean the force field should've absorbed all of the kinetic energy…"

"Why did you do that?!" Daniel shouted at the woman. "We wanted him alive!" He rushed towards Apophis' dead body, saw how the host's lifeless eyes were staring out at its surroundings and turned and wheeled on Celeria. It was a tense moment as SG – 1 had just thought that Daniel had just killed himself. Teal'c and Bra'tac gripped their staff weapons tightly, but they knew that they would do no good against beings like these three.

As the other Saiyan's stepped towards their compatriot, Celeria glared at Daniel. "I just killed your world's enemy, human. Your welcome by the way." Daniel, in his moment of grief at having his one chance of finding Sha're die grabbed hold of Celeria's battle vest angrily, again SG – 1 tensed; Celeria looked down at the arm grabbing her and then looked back up at Daniel with a smirk. "Really?"

"Daniel…" Jack said grabbing the Archaeologist's attention. A shake of the Colonel's head brought Daniel back. He looked at the woman and then down at his hand a second later he released his grip.

"You still have the boy's worm to interrogate. Be grateful. Perhaps he knows where your Sha're is." Celeria stated, surprising Daniel at the mention of his wife's name; he didn't think she heard him. As she turned towards Klorel and walked calmly over to him. "Your attack on this world is over, your father is dead and one of your ships has been destroyed while this one is heavily damaged. Surrender." She demanded.

Klorel looked at the blood soaked she demon and after looking at Apophis once more he flashed his eyes, much to the three Saiyan's amusement and then nodded. "Kel'ma!"

"No!" Bra'tac shouted.

"I demand Kel'ma!" Klorel shouted at the old man. "By right of conquest, my life and the life of my host now rests in her hands." Klorel said as he knelt in front of a surprised Jenny, Xander and Dawn and bowed his head in supplication.

"… Huh." Jenny said surprised.
