Tony was really missing his little girl. He understood that hospitals had certain procedures they had to follow but he hated that he couldn't see Sadie. He felt even more lonely since Ziva couldn't visit him either. If something had prevented Gibbs from seeing him as well. He would probably end up going insane. He had been at Bethesda for a week now and he couldn't wait to go home. Aside from the obvious missing his family. He was bored out of his mind and missed his freedoms. The day before Dr. Pitt had told him that unless he took a downturn. He would be able to go home the next day. He looked up at Dr. Pitt who had been checking him over for the past fifteen minutes.
"What's the verdict, Doc?" Tony asked.
"Congratulations Tony, you are free to go." Dr. Pitt replied.
"Seriously? That's great! Get my discharge papers!" Tony cried.
"Are you forgetting that you were taken here by an ambulance?" Dr. Pitt questioned.
"What does that have to do with anything?" Tony asked.
"You have no way to leave. You can't be checked out until Gibbs gets here." Dr. Pitt explained.
"OK well for the love of God call Gibbs!" Tony begged.
"Tony, I have other patients. You can call him." Dr. Pitt replied.
Gibbs was making breakfast for himself, Ziva, Amira and Sadie. Since Tony had begun improving three days ago. He felt comfortable going home and tending to his girls. Amira, the little girl was finally starting to come around. She still wasn't fully trusting him but she had finally agreed to come to his home. The first night he slept at his own house after Tony begun improving. Leyla on the other hand was getting worse. Seemingly by the second. It was clear that she didn't have much time left at all. When he heard his phone ring he jumped a mile. Could this be the call? How would he tell poor Amira that her mom was dead? Her trust and emotions were so fragile already. He recognized the number as from Bethesda. He wanted to throw his phone he wasn't ready for this. Still he knew that he needed to answer. So shakily he pressed the little green phone button.
"Hello?"
"Boss"
"Oh Tony, I am so glad it's just you."
"Just me? What is that supposed to mean?"
"I was worried it was the call that Leyla was gone."
"Oh"
"So why are you calling?"
"Guess what?!"
"What?"
"I get to come home!"
"When?"
"Today! As soon as you get here!"
"OK well I need to finish making breakfast for the girls and then take Amira to school before I can come and pick you up."
"Can't you get me first?"
"Sorry Tony"
"OK well no stops after Amira's at school."
"Don't worry I will come straight to get you after dropping Amira off."
Ziva was nearly shaking with excitement. Jimmy had come to take Sadie and Emma to daycare and Gibbs had left early to take Amira to school. Because Tony was coming home. After spending most of a week on the brink of death. He had started to improve three days ago, yesterday the doctor told him that he should be able to come home tomorrow, and today had been cleared to come home. Any minute now he would walk through the door and curl up beside her. Last week she was lying here wondering if she would ever see him again and today she was waiting for him to come back and hold her in his arms again. His embrace was her favorite feeling in the world. Tony was the kindest and most patient man on the planet. After all she had put him through, he still loved and cared for her. She didn't know what she did to deserve somebody so perfect but she was grateful for whatever it was.
"Good morning sweet-cheeks!" Tony cried.
"Tony! Your home!" Ziva called.
"Yeah and I couldn't be happier." Tony replied.
"How are you feeling?" Ziva asked.
"A million times better." Tony replied.
"Good" Ziva replied.
"Where's Sadie?" Tony asked.
"She's at daycare." Ziva replied.
"Why?" Tony asked.
"Gibbs thought it would be better since I can't get out of bed and you are still sick." Ziva explained.
"I guess that makes since but I am really missing my little girl." Tony replied.
"She's missing you too." Ziva replied.
"I hate how much time I spend in the hospital." Tony sighed.
"Me too, it's so scary. Especially since we have the baby on the way." Ziva replied.
"Don't worry, I won't leave you." Tony vowed.
"You better not." Ziva replied.
Jimmy was extremely relieved. Today when he picked Sadie up to take her and Emma to daycare. Gibbs told him that Tony was finally coming home. When Tony was first admitted to Bethesda because of a small injury. It brought back all of his painful memories of when Breena was admitted because of what Senior did to her. None of it was life-threatening but it all piled up and made her too weak to fight. When Tony got sick he was sure that it would end the same way. Now Tony was coming home and once he was back on his feet a little more. They could have a daddies play-date. One day with Sadie and Emma.
Gibbs sat on his couch. For a moment her felt peaceful. Tony was home, Ziver had nearly cried when he came in their room, and Amira had actually smiled and laughed when he was driving her to school that morning. The peace and calm he felt was short-lived however. Because moments after he relaxed his phone rang and again it was Bethesda.
"Hello? Agent Gibbs?"
"You got him."
"This is Lucy Anderson from Bethesda."
"What's going on?"
"I have you listed as the emergency contact for Leyla Franks."
"Yeah"
"She has taken a bad turn and we think that it would be wise for her family to come and say their goodbyes."
A/N: How will things go with Leyla. New chapter will be up soon. Please review and thanks for reading.
