Leyla's death had, had a surprising impact on Tony. She and him had never been particularly close. They got along but they weren't much more than acquaintances but after she died. Tony felt lost and empty. She was so young a couple years younger than Ziva if he was remembering correctly and now she was gone. She and Breena Palmer had been taken in the same year just a few months apart and far too soon. It made Tony realize just how lucky he was. Ziva had been so close to that explosion and the miscarriage she had was a bad one. Even though they were a world apart and she had, had no contact with each other for almost a year. The idea that she could have just died without him knowing for years if not ever, terrified him. It also got him thinking about the most important female in his life, far ahead of Abby, Bishop, Breena, and even Ziva. His baby girl Sadie Christina. He realized that he hadn't made any decisions about what would happen to her should anything horrible happen to him and Ziva. He had asked the Palmer's to be her guardians but that was before Breena died and Jimmy adopted Emma. Maybe McGee and Delilah but they had their own baby coming and Gibbs had Amira. He would have to talk to Ziva about it but not right now. Right now it was five days past Leyla's death and Gibbs and him had just returned from Leyla's funeral. Of course Amira had gone too but that was obvious. Gibbs was comforting her or trying to and Tony was sitting on the bed stroking Ziva's hair while she slept.
"Tony? How did it go?" Ziva asked groggily.
"It was sad, really sad. Even Gibbs cried." Tony replied.
"Gibbs?" Ziva asked.
"Where is Sadie?" Tony asked.
"She was taking her nap when Jody left." Ziva replied, Jody was a friend of Ziva's who had offered to come and help her out when everybody else was gone.
"Daddy!" Sadie cried bounding into the room.
"Oh there she is." Ziva replied.
"She really is a mini Gibbs." Tony commented.
"Yeah I am!" Sadie cried.
"She has a lot of you in her too." Ziva replied.
"Well I am her father." Tony replied.
"I know and it shows." Ziva replied.
"How's the baby, Ziva?" Sadie asked.
"It is doing pretty good." Ziva replied.
"Great! I can't wait to meet her!" Sadie cried.
"It may not be a girl." Tony reminded.
"OK or him but I want a sister!" Sadie cried.
"Sisters are fun." Ziva recalled.
"You have a sister?" Sadie asked.
"Had" Ziva replied.
"What happened to her?" Sadie asked.
"She is with aunt Breena and Leyla." Ziva explained.
"Oh I am sorry." Sadie replied.
"Thank you" Ziva replied.
"Daddy? Do you have any siblings?" Sadie asked.
"Just my Timmy, Abby, and Bishop but they are siblings I picked." Tony explained.
"What does that mean?" Sadie asked.
"They are not related by blood but by love." Tony replied.
"Oh" Sadie replied.
"You are lucky because you will have at least one half sibling." Tony replied.
"What does that mean? Were they cut in half?" Sadie asked.
"No, Sadie it means that they will be related to you by me but not by Ziva." Tony explained.
"Can you make Ziva my mommy?" Sadie asked.
"Yes we can, when Ziva feels better we can go down to the court-house and have her adopt you just like Uncle Jimmy adopted Emma and then Ziva will be your mommy. As long as that is what she wants to." Tony explained.
"I would love to adopt Sadie and make her my little girl." Ziva replied.
"Oh OK" Sadie sighed.
"Aren't you excited? Ziva is going to adopt you." Tony questioned.
"I am happy but I want Ziva to be my real mom." Sadie replied.
"She will be your real mom." Tony explained.
"No I want her to be my mommy like she is going to be the baby's mommy." Sadie replied.
"I am sorry Sadie but that is not possible." Tony replied.
"But adoption is just as special and just as good." Ziva added.
"So it's the same?" Sadie asked.
"Kind of you just aren't related by blood just like me and my siblings." Tony replied.
Later on that night after Sadie had already gone to bed, Tony and Ziva were both awake. Tony had propped Ziva up a bit so she could be a little more comfortable. He was lucky the pregnancy had worn Ziva out so much. Because otherwise she would have probably slugged him at least once by now for all the times he had told her that he loved her. He knew it had gotten annoying fairly fast but he wanted to make sure she knew it. He had been shown time and time again over the past few months just how quickly a life could be ripped away.
"I am glad Sadie is happy about her sibling." Ziva commented.
"Me too but at her age it is pretty easy. If she were a couple of years older it may be a bit harder to get used to." Tony explained.
"What do you think it is?" Ziva asked.
"I don't know older kids have more time alone with mommy and daddy and it is a harder concept to adapt to besides the fact that Sadie has only known me a short time and you even less." Tony explained.
"No! What do you think the baby is?" Ziva asked.
"I don't know" Tony replied.
"Me either I guess what I mean it what do you want it to be?" Ziva asked.
"I don't really care as long as it is healthy. Though I wouldn't mind a son." Tony replied.
"A little Tony I like that idea." Ziva agreed.
"Yeah but I don't know about Anthony or Tony for a boy." Tony replied.
"Well what do you like?" Ziva asked.
"Jackson" Tony replied.
"Like Gibbs's dad?" Ziva asked.
"Yes because he was the second strongest man I ever met and gave us the strongest and most amazing man on the planet." Tony replied.
"That he did and Jackson is a lovely name." Ziva agreed.
"So Jackson is on the list?" Tony asked.
"It is definite for a boy." Ziva agreed.
"Jackson DiNozzo" Tony said.
"It's perfect." Ziva agreed.
A/N: Jackson DiNozzo is the boys name but I am going to have a poll for girl names. New chapter will be up soon. Please review and thanks for reading.
