By the time Ziva was seven months pregnant. Her bed rest had become much more lenient. She still had to spend most of the day in bed or at least sitting in a reclined position but she was allowed to get up for three hours give or take depending on her stress level. The new rules allowed her and Tony to finally do two very important things. First they would get married and then she would adopt Sadie. It was going to be a simple ceremony in the DiNozzo's backyard. Just Gibbs, Ducky, Jimmy, Abby, Vance, and McGee and Delilah and of course Sadie, Emma, and Amira.
"There's my flower girl." Tony greeted walking into Sadie's room the morning of the wedding.
"I really get to be in the wedding?" Sadie asked.
"Yes are you excited?" Tony asked.
"Yes!" Sadie cried.
"Good now let's get you in your dress." Tony replied.
"Is Ziva going to become my family today?" Sadie asked.
"I don't know it will depend on how she feels." Tony explained.
"OK but I can't wait until she is my mommy." Sadie replied.
"Neither can I but it will be easier for her to adopt you when we are married." Tony explained.
"OK" Sadie agreed.
Bright and early the morning of Tony and Ziva's wedding. Gibbs was in his old backyard setting up folding chairs and two folding tables for the ceremony. He couldn't help but cry as he thought of his son marrying the love of his life. It reminded him of the day that he married his true love Shannon. He wished that she could be here with them. She would have gladly stepped up to the mother of the bride and groom duties since both Tony and Ziva had lost there mothers long ago. He was happy to fill in for Ziva's father but there wasn't much for the father of the groom to do besides just showing up. Still he wanted to make sure that he was there and went above and beyond for Tony.
"Morning Boss" McGee greeted.
"Morning McGee" Gibbs replied.
"Need any help?" McGee asked.
"Yeah you can lay down the boards." Gibbs replied.
"Boards? You building something?" McGee asked.
"They are to lay on the ground so that Delilah can get around." Gibbs explained.
"She gonna be able to get to the bathroom?" McGee asked.
"Of course she will. I just want to be sure she can get around the yard easy." Gibbs explained.
"Oh alright" McGee replied.
With the help of McGee, Gibbs was able to get the back-yard set-up half an hour ahead of schedule. After they had completed their task McGee went to pick up Delilah and Gibbs went to find Tony. He needed to have the standard if you hurt my baby girl I will hurt you talk with his son. He realized how backwoods it sounded to call Tony and Ziva his son and daughter but they were his children long before they fell in love. He found Tony sitting on the couch watching some ancient movie.
"Tony!" Gibbs called.
"What is it Boss?" Tony asked.
"You excited about today?" Gibbs asked.
"I am marrying the love of my life." Tony replied.
"Well before you do. I just wanted to remind you. You may be my boy but Ziva is my little girl and if you hurt her. I will be forced to hurt you." Gibbs replied.
"Aside from the fact that I now hear banjo music. I promise you that I will never dream of hurting Ziva. She is my Shannon." Tony assured.
Ziva stood in front of the bathroom mirror. She could not believe that she was really marrying Tony today. She had dreamed of this day for years and now it was finally here. She just wished that she was more attractive for him. She was huge and she couldn't even wear a dress. She didn't have anything even halfway fancy in maternity sizes. She was wearing a pair of dark blue jeans and a white maternity top.
"Ziver?" Gibbs called.
"What is it?" Ziva asked.
"I know it's not a wedding dress but Shannon had it she wore it to a friend's wedding when she was pregnant with Kelly. I am almost positive that it will fit you." Gibbs explained.
"Oh Gibbs, I couldn't take that." Ziva argued.
"No, Ziver I insist." Gibbs replied.
"Are you sure? I mean it was Shannon's." Ziva replied.
"She would want you to wear it." Gibbs assured.
"I suppose" Ziva replied.
"Great I will help you get it on." Gibbs replied walking into the room with a short red and white dress.
"Oh Gibbs it is lovely." Ziva said.
"You remind me a lot of Shannon actually." Gibbs replied.
"We look nothing alike." Ziva argued.
"No I mean your personalities. She was the strongest woman I had ever known but also the most sensitive and so are you but what really reminds me of her. Is how you are when you are with Tony and Sadie. It is clear that they are your world. Shannon, God she was so great to Kelly and me. I miss her so much. I miss them so much." Gibbs explained.
"Oh Gibbs I didn't mean to." Ziva replied.
"It is not you Ziver, they are dead and it has been tearing me up since long before I met you. Even when I never talked about them and pretended like they never existed. I would still break down over how much I missed them. The difference is that people know they care and can help." Gibbs explained.
"Shannon was lucky to have you and so was Kelly." Ziva replied.
"I was the lucky one." Gibbs replied.
"You sound like Tony." Ziva commented.
"About Tony" Gibbs replied.
"What? Is he having second thoughts?" Ziva asked.
"No it's just please don't hurt him. He has had his heart shattered so many times. I don't think that he could handle it again." Gibbs explained.
"I hurt Tony twice and I hate myself for it every day. I will never hurt him again." Ziva assured.
"That's my girl. Now let's get you married." Gibbs replied pulling Ziva into a tight hug.
