Tony left his day and a half old son in the NICU and headed back to Ziva's room. With any luck Ziva would be able to go and visit him the next day. Jimmy and Abby were keeping Sadie so that Gibbs could stay with Tony and Ziva in the hospital. Ziva was doing great. She was weak and fragile but she was getting better every minute. Jack on the other hand was not doing so great. He had barely survived his first night and his body was not fighting the way it should. Tony walked down the hall wondering if his son would still be alive the next time he saw him.
"How is he?" Ziva asked as he entered her room.
"Not great" Tony admitted.
"Oh" Ziva replied.
"Gibbs said that he is strong and he will pull through." Tony explained.
"Gibbs is wise." Ziva commented.
"Yeah but I mean can he really know?" Tony asked.
"No but Tony if I didn't have the ability to hold on to hope. I would be completely lost. I know you struggle but it's all I have." Ziva explained.
"I want to be happy I really do but it's hard." Tony replied.
"I know" Ziva agreed.
Tony sat by Ziva's bed while she slept. The doctors were now saying that she may even be able to go home the next day. Once she was home Ducky and Abby would step up and care for her while Tony was at the hospital. She would spend as much time with Tony and Jack as possible but the doctors were wanting her to take it easy. Unlike when she had to be on bed rest. She would be able to get up and move around the house. She could even go out obviously but only if she felt up to it. Tony reached over and stroked his wife's cheek. He remembered the day before when they were first married and when Ziva adopted Sadie. Everything was so simple then. So perfect. At least Ziva had survived and was recovering well and Jack had at least been born alive. No Ziva and Gibbs were right. He had to be positive. His son would survive because he was a Gibbs and Gibbs's were strong.
"Hey Tony" Jimmy greeted.
"Oh hi Autopsy Gremlin." Tony replied.
"How are they?" Jimmy asked.
"Ziva is doing well she may even come home tomorrow." Tony replied.
"That is excellent but what about Jack?" Jimmy asked.
"He isn't doing well at all." Tony replied.
"Oh man I am sorry to hear that." Jimmy replied.
"Thanks" Tony replied.
"Is there anything I can do?" Jimmy asked.
"No you are taking care of Sadie that is more than enough." Tony replied.
"OK well just let me know." Jimmy agreed.
"Will do" Tony replied.
Gibbs walked towards the NICU. He had just talked to Tony and apparently Jack was not doing as well as they had hoped. He knew that he had to do something. Giving an order not to die had worked enough times for Tony that it would have to work for his son. He told the receptionist that he was Jack's grandfather and she let him inside. He found Jack's crib and stood over it.
"Hey Jack I am your grandpa Gibbs. Listen you have to promise me that you will not die. Your parents are very important to me and I don't want to see them go through losing a child. So you have to fight OK? Got that? You will not die." Gibbs ordered.
A/N: Sorry for the shortness but I am lacking inspiration at the moment. New chapter will be up soon and should be better. Please review and thanks for reading.
