Baby Jack was now a week old and doing great. He would have to stay in the NICU until he was at least five pounds. He was four pounds three ounces now and so far gaining every day. He had been taken off the ventilator and was now on room drawn oxygen. Ziva was doing amazing as well. She was getting around on her own now and had more energy. Jack and Ziva were doing so well that Tony and Ziva had decided that it was time for Sadie to meet her baby brother. She had been dying to meet him in person but for the first week of his life the pictures taken by Tony, Ziva, and Gibbs had to do. Tony let Ziva sleep. While he got up, got dressed, and made breakfast. Once breakfast was cooked he woke up his girls. He dressed Sadie while Ziva got dressed and showered.

"Do you know what today is?" Tony asked.

"I get to meet Jack!" Sadie cried.

"That's right" Tony replied.

"Can I hold him?" Sadie asked.

"No" Tony replied.

"Why?" Sadie asked.

"You are too little to go in the room Jack is in but Grandpa Gibbs is going to hold you up so that you can see him in the window." Tony explained.

"When can I see him up close?" Sadie asked.

"When he is home from the hospital." Tony replied.

"I can't wait." Sadie replied.

"Neither can I." Tony agreed wistfully.

Tony, Ziva, and Sadie at breakfast and then headed out to the car. Gibbs and Amira met the family at the hospital. Gibbs offered to let Amira come with them and see Jack with Sadie but she declined and sat down beside the nurses station with her book. Tony and Ziva walked through the NICU to Jack's bed. Tony picked his son up and held him up to the window. Gibbs was standing on the other side holding Sadie up.

"There he is." Gibbs said pointing at Tony.

"He's so cute!" Sadie cooed.

"Yes he is" Gibbs agreed.

"He looks like mommy!" Sadie cried.

"Yes he does but I think he is going to have your daddy's eyes." Gibbs explained.

"He doesn't have daddy's eyes!" Sadie argued.

"No that means that his eyes are going to be green like your and your dads." Gibbs explained.

"Why doesn't he have them now?" Sadie asked.

"Most babies have blue eyes when they are first born and then they change to whatever color they will be." Gibbs explained.

"Why?" Sadie asked.

"I will have to ask Abby." Gibbs replied.

"OK" Sadie replied.

Gibbs took Sadie and Amira to get lunch. Leaving Tony and Ziva alone with their son. Ziva took the first shift for lunch. Leaving Tony and Jack by themselves. Their were only two other babies in this part of the NICU and two in the main part. A set of twins born three days before. One was doing like Jack but the other was doing much better. Tony was glad that the other NICU babies were holding their own as well. Only one baby had died in the time Jack was sick and from what Tony had heard it was tragic but expected. He hated seeing kids suffer and die. That was why he feared and didn't want children for so long. His whole adult life. He had seen kids die or take depositions after they were raped or experienced another form of trauma. When he met Sadie though it all changed. He realized that he had to be brave and step up to give her a family. Now he had a son a beautiful son. Sadie was beautiful and amazing too but this was his son and he had been there through it all. Only afraid when Jack was in danger.

"You be sure to be nice to your big sister Sadie. She is the reason you are here." Tony whispered to his son.

Tony and Ziva left the hospital at the end of visiting hours. At his last weigh in Jack weighed four pound five ounces. If he kept gaining weight like that. He may just be home by the end of the week. It was unlikely but stranger things had happened. When they got home Gibbs's car was in the driveway. They walked inside and found Amira lying on the floor watching cartoons. Sadie was curled up on the couch playing with her doll. Ziva sat on the couch beside her daughter, picked her up, and placed her onto her lap. Sadie was such an easy child. She could only hope that Jack was the same way but he was Tony's son. So he was bound to be trouble.

"What have I gotten myself into?" Ziva wondered aloud.

Tony went into the kitchen and found Gibbs standing at the stove. He didn't realize until he got into the room how amazing the house smelled. He had forgotten how good a cook Gibbs was. While his boss slaved over the stove. Tony set the table for five.

"You didn't have to do that." Gibbs commented acknowledging Tony for the first time.

"You are cooking for us." Tony commented.

"It's the least I can do." Gibbs replied.

"Well it means a lot." Tony replied.

"So how is he?" Gibbs asked.

"Great he gained a little weight." Tony replied.

"Good, any idea when he can come home?" Gibbs asked.

"Maybe at the end of the week." Tony replied.

"Good" Gibbs replied.

"I can't wait for this to be over." Tony commented.

"I can imagine." Gibbs replied.

"The good news is that with how sick he was. He will never scare the hell out of us again." Tony said.

"Doesn't work like that, Tony." Gibbs replied struggling not to burst out laughing.

"What's so funny?" Tony asked.

"Kids don't stop scaring the hell out of you. Kelly never did, Abby, McGee, and Ziver scare me a lot, and you... you." Gibbs explained.

"What is that supposed to mean?" Tony asked.

"Tony! You have been shot, blown up, drugged, tortured, kidnapped, fallen out of a plane, been in car accidents, had countless head injuries, and you had the plague! The plague!" Gibbs explained.

"OK I get it." Tony replied.

"Just be glad that you have family to support you and a good wife. Because this parenting thing it only gets harder." Gibbs explained.

"What do you mean?" Tony asked.

"Just wait until Sadie and Jack start to grow up." Gibbs replied.
