Team Wildfire: Darkrai Returns
Chapter Six: Team Olacronon to the Rescue!
Okay, new chapter...where did he- ah...here it is! Okay, so... before I begin...I must say...I have just been EXTREMELY busy...and now...I have two other stories besides this...so updates from me are slow...
Charmander's POV
"Are we there yet?" I whined. Starly, Helioptile and Alex all groaned. Starly turned his head, flapping his wings in annoyance.
"Can you just shut up! You've already asked that question ten times!" He shouted. Alex glanced back, her face the same level as annoyed.
"I got eleven on my count..." She said with a slight eye roll.
"If I had known you were going to complain this much, I might have just left you at home Charmander!" Helioptile glanced back, playfully pushing me aside with her paw.
"He's just being annoying so he doesn't have to go to the haunted cave!" I felt my eyes widen at the mention of the word. My heart racing as we approached Evolution forest.
"Did you just say...H-haunted?" Starly glanced back. I felt my fingers lock together as my tail swished between my legs. My flame was growing smaller, timid.
"Don't you read the jobs or their descriptions?" I felt my face burn in embarrassment. Nope. I felt my hand shyly touch the back of my head.
"He he...nope...but I will from now on..." I shyly said. Just then two people began to come into view. Two Vaporeon stood in the field.
"You must be the team that's going to help us find our daughter..." One of the Vaporeon spoke. His eyes seemed to gleam nervously. I could tell he was scared. He must really care.
"Yeah, that's us..." Starly muttered. Alex smiled at them along with Helioptile.
"We'll find her sir!" He nodded.
"You'd better..." He passed us walking deeper into the forest. He stopped beside a hole in the floor.
"I think she's in there..." I tilted my head. A hole? Hmm...I suppose that makes sense. I peaked my head into the hole.
"What are you waiting for Charmander go ahead..." Starly commanded. Alex tapped her foot against the grass and Helioptile just stood there.
"I'm not a fan of haunted houses guys..." I backed up. Starly shot me a look.
"Sure you are..." Starly pushed my back, my feet dragging along the floor. I felt my heart race, terror capturing my heart.
"No I'm really not..." He shoved me forward.
"All you need is a little PUSH!" With that, I fell through the floor. The glow from my tail illuminated the cave as my name echoed off the walls.
"Charmander!" Alex and Helioptile shouted from above. I could see the worry in their eyes and immediately felt my cheeks burn.
"Its okay...I'm fine." A argument between Alex and Starly soon ensued.
"I can't believe you did that to him!"
"He just needed to get a move on! He was going so slow." I yelled out to them.
"Guys its really not that big a deal!" I could hear Starly flap his wings. Alex struggled a bit and her voice faded away.
"Guys... ?" I heard Hileoptile shout.
"Get back here with Alex Starly!"
"Nonscenes! Besides, Charmander needs company other wise he might just die of a fright!" I felt my skin crawl as Alex screeched falling from the hole in the sky. She toppled on me, my head pounding as it hit the floor.
"Sorry Charmander...blame Starly." Alex muttered as she leapt off me. My face burned as she helped me up.
"N-no. Its...uh...not a problem." I said plastering on a smile. I could see her smile back as Starly and Helioptile came down. Starly carried Helioptile down and she thanked him. Alex just scowled, angry about earlier.
"What's your deal with me!?" She shouted. Starly looked away. I felt my feet back up, silence overtaking the room.
"Guys can we not do this now please!?" Helioptile said, fear setting in her eyes.
"Yeah guys besides we have bigger things to worry about." Just then a chuckle filled the room and I immediately.
"Yeah, you should be more worried about me..." I quickly whipped my head around, my tail illuminating the cave and revealing a Cofagrigus. I backed up, my body frozen in place. I could here screeches and screams coming from inside his body.
"I...I" I opened my mouth to speak, too frightened to get away from this creepy coffin. He smiled wickedly, his arms wrapping around me.
"Charmander move!" Helioptile called, her voice reaching my ears. I felt my limbs struggle to move as his grip tightened. He quickly thrusted me into him, opening the doors to his stomach... or...uh...chest. I felt my right arm get free, outstretched to Alex. I glanced to her, seeing her shocked blue eyes locked on me. Oh Arceus, I'm going to die.
Much to my surprise, I felt my head slam into something, and the light from my tail shined on a brown face. I whipped my head toward this figure.
"H-hey!" I stammered, backing up as far as I could. I immediately stood up, feeling trapped in this box. I was pressed up against someone else and immediately swished my flame-lite tail to a frightened face.
Not taking a look back at the figure, I pound on the inside of the coffin. Pounding my fists against the walls screaming in hopes someone would hear me.
"Help! HELP! GUYS GET US OUT!" I screamed, only to be met with a paw on my shoulder.
"I already tried that..." She muttered. My light swished to the face again, her chocolate brown eye squinting in annoyance. I gasped, falling against the wall for a moment. I was surprised someone else was in here.
"Oh...so..." She sighed, swishing her cream tipped tail in front of her. I traced up her eyes finding tolwo diamond ears, flattening against her head in irritation. Her chocolate eyes were set on me, but she seemed slightly angry to see me there.
I could hear loud bumps and muffled yelling from the walls. I banged on them one last time, but realizing it wasn't going to work I slumped down against the coffins wall.
"I...I'm Charmander...nice to meet you-" I extended my paw, smiling as I introduced myself. I quickly bumped her front paw and she hissed out in pain.
"Ow! Don't you know a broken leg when you see one!?" I cringed, scooting away. My extended hand shrank back. I had failed to notice why she refused to move.
"I-I'm sorry...er..." She glanced up at me.
"Neva..." I tilted my head, glancing at this Eevee. She glanced at me with her chocolate eyes. Her once angry tone now leashed by her now calm tone. She smiled sweetly, in a manner happy that she had someone to talk to.
"Why are you here anyway...?" I questioned. She averted her gaze from me, puasing in a momemt of silence before she sighed.
"Well my parents want me to be a Vaporeon...I want to be a Glaceon...see where I'm going with this?" I immediately realized. Poor girl was trying to start over...only to find herself trapped in here.
"Oh...well..."
"Once we get out of here, they are probably going to want be to evolve...not to mention the grounding I will get after all of that." I frowned. She sounded snarky, slightly angry but I gazed to her eyes all sounds seemed to vanish for a moment. She looked more hurt then anything, like all she really wanted was to be accepted.
"Well that sucks...if its any constellation, you act like a Glaceon..." That was all that was muttered. It was kinda rude but she just smirked at the comment. A happy twinkle appeared in her eyes.
"Exactly..." I sighed, hearing the banging outside continue. The box was shaking violently. I sighed, my eye set on a single wall. Its time to get out.
Starly's POV
You would think Charmander would just torch him... But considering he's in someone and not directly facing them. He might be terrified.
"Charmander can you hear me!?" I yelled. Alex was using her vines, holding down the Cofrigus. I was blowing wind pressing it to the floor. Helioptile generated electricity, hitting the coffin.
This traveled to Alex, who shrieked releasing the coffin. I groaned in annoyance. I heard faint screams come from inside the coffin. His ghostly hands clapping together as the mean gaze locked on my team and I.
Alex then wrapped her vines around him again, shaking him violently before throwing him to the floor with a thud.
"Alex your going to hurt Charmander and Neva!" I had remembered the name of the clients daughter. I grit my beak into a frown, how would we win?
"Can't attack him like that...Charmander needs to get him from the inside." As I muttered that, a orange glow came from the Cofrigus. In a heated explosion the cave was filled with dust and smoke. He toppled over with a defeated groan. I flapped to the floor, seeing Charmander carry out what looked like an eevee.
"Guess who I found?" Alex smiled. She clapped her paws in triumph.
"Alright...now let's get the hell out of here!" Alex muttered, using her vines to climb up the hole. She quickly glanced back, grabbing Helioptile. I glanced at Neva, who whispered to Charmander.
"Whatever happens...don't let them make me a Vaporeon..." She whispered as Alex hoisted her up to the surface...strange.
I looked to see Charmander's face, his eyes glossed over in sadness. A small frown appeared in the corner of his face.
"Okay...I won't," He muttered softly. I grabbed his shoulder's and smiled at his new-found friendship.
"Hey Charmander... About earlier...I'm sorry I pushed you down here..."
"Well...got to face your fears sometime right?" He smiled and nodded his orange head in understanding. His blue eyes gazed at me.
"You should know that despite you being scared on the outside, you sure have a brave heart on the inside...and that matters more...ya know?" He smirked, smiling as I placed him on the grass. He understood my words and didn't hold a grudge against me for earlier, he was a friend...I was glad to have him.
Lucario's POV
"When the kids are away the adults all play! Let's party!" Blastiose hollered, hoping into the Wishcash pond. I rested my head on the soft grass underneath a tree. I felt the gentle breeze gently blow through my fur as the sky's reflection bounced off the water.
"Come on Anthony! Alex is fine...and is more then capable of watching herself...don't baby her." I hollered from underneath the tree. As any father would be, Anthony worried about his child on their first official mission.
"I'm just hoping they don't get into to much trouble. Alex has a tendency to find it..." He muttered, his gaze averting back to the lake. Gardevior sat beside me, her eyes locked on Anthony for a moment.
"She's fine Anthony, don't worry to much. Otherwise something will happen!" I said with an eye roll. Gadevior's red eyes glanced at me. She sighed before looking away.
"He cares..." She muttered, her white face flushing for a moment.
"But we all do..." I said in a hushed whisper. I let my hand glide across the soft grass, tracing it ascend to the sky. I felt my paw gently graze Gardevior and my hand jolted back in surprise, my cheeks growing warm for a moment.
"Its different...that's his baby. He's always going to worry..." She lay back down on the grass, sighing once more.
"Parent will always worry...until the day they die...they will worry...they will...care." I felt my eyes close, feeling the soft breeze drift away. I heard her sigh and the slight desterbance of her absence. I opened my eyes seeing Gadevior sitting beside Anthony.
"Its going to be fine. Alex has friends that have her back...she's in good hands." She smiled gently at him as he perked his head to her words.
"Yeah..." With that he averted his eyes, turning his head in another direction.
"Come on... come hang out with Lucario and I!" She smiled and I felt my jaw clench. Her face again had slightly changed color and as she walked back toward me with Anthony I could help but blink in surprise.
"Lucario...what's wrong?" Gardevior asked.
"Hm...oh, er, nothing!" I felt my paw rub the back of my head. Blastiose jumped out of the river and Zoroak climbed down the tree. The team now sat together under a tree. I smiled as the breeze kicked up again.
"Man... Don't I feel old!" Zoroak muttered.
"Well, we saved the world and started a family..." Anthony said, a smile appearing on his face
"Speak for yourself!" I laughed, nudging him playfully. We all sighed and Blastiose smiled.
"This is what its all about...being together." Those words warmed my heart because I know they are one hundred percent true.
Neva's POV
"Thank you for saving me guys..." I muttered. I glanced to my dad, who gripped the water stone in their hand. I felt my teeth grind together.
"Okay, Neva let us away...we have things to attend to." I limped away, feeling tripped once more. I walked back toward Evolution forest, hearing someone in the distance.
"What are you going to do to her?" My diamond ears perked and I turned to see that Charmander. His nervous eyes trailed my father.
"Attend to family business..." With that, my father swished his tail and began down the path again. I glanced back.
"She doesn't want to be a Vaporeon!" My father's blue head turned, his paws glued to the floor. I felt my paws grip the dirt tightly as my father's blue eyes glared.
"She'll be whatever I tell her to!" I could hear the desperation in my father's voice. My ears flattened against my head as his voice got higher.
"But she'd be unhappy! Don"'t you want what's best for Neva!?" Charmander's friends rallied behind him.
"Charmander stop." Helioptile claimed, worried setting into her eyes.
"Its not our place." Starly reasoned, taking the chance to exchange a sympathetic glace with me. I felt a sad frown form on my face.
"She'll be fine...sometimes you have to just let people talk it out." The Snivy whispered.
"Thanks Alex...but she can't live like this...its not fair!" I felt my father's tail swish around my paw, pulling me forward.
"Come Neva." I yanked my paw back, stumbling to remain balanced.
"No, Neva stay!" Charmander hollered against the restraint of his friends.
"She's going to do as her family commands. COME NEVA!" I pushed my paws into the dirt, my eyes shut tightly.
"N-no! Dad, he's right. I don't want to be a Vaporeon...I want to be what I want...and that's a Glaceon!" I stammered. I could feel my body tremble as my father's black eyes glared at me.
"And no Glaceon is going to live in my house!" I bit my lip, grinding my teeth and finally releasing everything I had bottled up.
"Then I won't live in your house..." I yelled. I felt tears stream off my face as I looked to my father.
"You'll be back... You'll have nowhere to go!" Frustration made its way into my heart. I was going to do everything in order to prove you wrong. I noticed Charmander and his team huddled around each other having a conversation of their own.
"Yes she does!" Alex interrupted. She held her head high and had a cocky, yet proud smirk on her face.
"She'll come with us!" Starly added.
"Besides we could always use another member!" Helioptile announced. My dad backed up, staring down the team that had just rescued me. He let out a shakey sigh.
"Go...I'll still be here when you get back." He muttered harshly. A small smile appeared on my face. I get to be free? I get to go on my own? How exciting!?
"R-really?" I asked in disbelief. I turned back to the team, smiles sat on their faces.
"Welcome home!" They cheered! I jumped happily prancing over toward them. I glanced once more to my father, who tossed a stone to me.
"For later..." I glanced to the icy stone in my hand. I didn't evovle, much to my surprise. But...that just might be a way of saying I'm not ready.
"Thanks..." I whispered one last time. My father's blue figure disappeared with my mother behind the trees of evolution forest. I'm finally free...
"Welcome to the team Neva!" The team hollered. Charmander stood beside me.
"So this is Starly, Helioptile, and Alex." He quickly turned to me.
"And we are Team Olecronon!" Starly added. Alex came up to me.
"Thanks for being forward with my father Alex. He might not have let me go without a place to stay..." She smiled.
"Yeah, I think your going to like us..." We glanced at Starly who flapped into the sky before yelling.
"Hurry up! I need some food before I fail not starving to death!" Starly yelled.
"Well...most of us." She said as we began our journey to my new home.
Ehh...I still feel like this is missing something but...here it is! :) please review or pm the authors. Like I said earlier I've been kinda busy...but I try to roll this stuff out.
