Woo! I finally got Luke's deck completed and this chapter written. I know I was supposed to update Into Kingdom Hearts next, but it's a bit hard connecting the dots. However, I have determined the new worlds seen in the story and will say which ones if I get it updated.

As for this story, I got some new cards, including the Legendary Collection 4: Joey's World set. Oh my gosh, so amazing! I got both Red-Eyes Darkness and Zombie Dragon, Black Skull Dragon, Toon Summoned Skull, even Rex Raptor's Serpent Night Dragon used in Duelist Kingdom! I even pulled a Polymerization; I haven't had that card since Junior High (when somebody stole my deck box with all my good/rare cards inside). I also bought about 200 cards from my friend for like $50.

And before I forget, after the tournament arc, everyone who submitted an OC (still accepting by the way) is allowed to change out any card in their deck for a new card (just remember, nothing from the restricted list).

So, R&R, PM, and Enjoy!

Chapter 10

Jacob was now waiting for the next round of the tournament to begin. There were now a total of eight duelists left; he was one, Luke was another, and apparently Akiza's boyfriend was in the next round. That left five unknown duelists. Jacob and Luke were heading towards the food court, when Luke said he had to go say "hi" to a few of his own friends. Jacob continued on, and soon found his own family waiting for him.

"That was an amazing duel, Jacob," his mother said. "That last attack was quite a powerful one." Jacob looked at his father and saw a hard, thoughtful look on his face.

"Hey, Dad, you okay?" His father didn't respond, and Jacob felt a tap on his shoulder. He turned to see Jarred, Mikayla, and Mikayla's father standing behind him.

"An excellent duel, kid," Damion said giving him the thumbs up.

"Heck yeah," Jarred said in agreement. "I didn't think augmented reality could throw me off the field like that."

"It doesn't." Everyone looked at Jacob's father, who was looking up at the monitor. Right now, the third terminal had it's repairs finished and the second half of the round began. The rest of the roster came up and Akiza pointed out her boyfriend. He was in the bottom left corner on the blue panel. Jacob had to squint to see it, but saw that he had black hair with yellow, or orange, highlights. He also had an odd tattoo below his left eye. Jacob tried to look at the name but the screen already switched to the terminals.

"Who know's Jacob," Akiza said, attracting Jacob's attention away from the terminal. "You might be paired up in the next round."

Jacob nodded wordlessly, and Mikayla said, "So, Mr. Yudara, you were saying something?" The attention went back to him, but he was still in his own thoughts. Jacob snapped his fingers in front of his eyes, causing him to look at Jacob in confusion.

"Sorry, I've just been thinking about something." He turned to his sister-in-law and said, "Akiza, may I talk to you for a second?"

"Uh, okay?"

He led her away from the others, and Jarred said, "Okay, that was a little weird." Luke came back and he talked with Mikayla and Jarred for a while. Jacob began to watch the remainder of the duels that were going on. So far, two of the duels were over, and one of the duels was getting interesting. It was the one Akiza's boyfriend was in, and so far he was on the losing side of it. Then he brought out a new monster through a Synchro Summon.

He tuned his level 3 Junk Synchron and two level 2 monsters, and summoned a powerful white dragon. There was no audio, but he did see the dragon destroy the opponent's monster and wipe out the last 1300 of his life points. Shortly after, the fourth and final duel ended as well, and the horn sounded for the end of the second round.

"Congratulations to our final eight duelists," Kaiba's voice rang out. "The third round will have your life points brought up to the standard 4000, and you will be using some of the very first duel disks ever made. They work just like your D-Pads, however with a slight change in the use of technology."

"Well, we'd better get going," Luke said. Jacob nodded and the two raced off. They entered the waiting room and Jacob instantly saw his aunt's boyfriend. He looked even more intimidating in person, and Jacob decided to talk to him. As he walked over to him, however, another duelist walked in front of him, purposefully shoving him to the ground.

"Watch it, kid," the guy said in a New York accent. Jacob growled and looked up at him, and saw he was much bigger than he was. The guy was black with an afro, wearing an RVD t-shirt underneath a black trench coat, along with black jeans and combat boots. Jacob also noticed he had a tattoo of that white dragon above his left eye.

"You should keep your eyes in front of you instead of up your-." Before he could finish, someone placed a hand on his shoulder. Both Jacob and the guy he bumped into turned around to see Akiza's boyfriend.

"Hey, save it for the duels," he said. The guy scoffed and walked off. "You alright there?" he asked Jacob.

"Yeah, I was actually coming over to talk to you when he bumped into me." They looked back at the guy and saw him looking through his deck.

"Yeah, some people are real jerks. I should know." He looked back at Jacob and held out his hand, "Yusei Fudo."

"Jacob Yudara," Jacob said, shaking his hand.

"Ah, so your the one Akiza's been talking about. She tells me your an excellent duelist."

"Yeah, Aunt Akiza's talked a lot about you too." Before they could continue their conversation any further, the door began to open and Yusei wished him luck in his duel.

The eight duelists filed out onto the field, and Kaiba's voice once again sounded, "We started this tournament with 32 duelists, now only eight remain. The winners of this round will automatically win the first four copies of Duel Monsters Network." The crowd cheered and Jacob found his family among the crowd, standing up and cheering for him. "But, those four will continue to compete for the grand prize of $500,000 and the chance to duel me."

Jacob was now determined to be number one in this tournament. He only needed this one win to win the console, but now he was dueling for him and Mikayla. The roster came up and the photos were shuffled and paired up. The moment they flipped over, Jacob found his picture. but then he saw the duelist he was facing.

It was Luke.

He looked around and saw Luke, already staring at him. "For this round, you'll be using one of the first duel disks ever produced. These are the predecessors to your D-Pads." Officials walked over to us and handed the duel disks to us. I slipped it on and we were directed to our designated areas.

"To activate your duel disks, hold out your arms straight out in front of you and press the switch located near the arm brace." I was facing Luke and we held out our arms. I threw the switch and the two halves of the duel disk came together and aligned onto the left hand side of the device. Then, a semi-circular device shot out from the right hand side of the device. Before it crashed, it deployed a set of bat-like wings and landed gently on the ground. They then flipped over to reveal the holographic projectors. Everyone else joined in, and the battle began.

"I hope you don't mind if I go first," Luke said, pulling out the top six cards of his deck.

Luke: 4000

Jacob: 4000

"First, I activate Evo-Diversity. It allows me to add an Evoltile or Evolsaur monster from my Deck to my hand." A card slid out from his deck and he pulled it out, the Deck automatically shuffling. "Next, I activate Evo-Karma. It's a Continous Spell, so it remains on the field. Next, I throw two cards face-down, and Set a monster in Defense mode. It's your move."

Luke: 4000

Jacob: 4000

Jacob drew and examined his hand. He smiled at the first monster in his hand, "Since you control a monster, and I don't, I can Special Summon Cyber Dragon (ATK/2100)!" He placed it in the Duel Disk and a flurry of light appeared. Once it died down, a mechanical dragon floated in the air, and roared at Luke. "Next, I place three cards face-down. Now, Cyber Dragon attacks your face-down." A green lizard-like monster appeared, and Cyber Dragon charged straight into it.

"You've destroyed my Evoltile Westlo. It has a Flip Effect that allows me to Special Summon one Evolsaur monster from my deck." Another card slid out from his deck and he placed it on his Duel Disk. "I special Summon Evolsaur Pelta in Defense mode (DEF/2000)." A dinosaur monster appeared on the field, kneeling down on all fours. It was mainly green and silver with red and purple spikes on it's back. It's DEF then jumped up to 2500. "Since Pelta was summoned by the effect of an Evoltile monster, it gains 500 DEF."

Jacob was familiar with the "Evo" cards. The larger dinosaurs got their abilities from smaller Reptile monsters, and some of these effects could be devastating. "I'll end my turn."

Luke: 4000

Jacob: 4000

'I've set up a good defense so far,' Jacob thought looking down at his cards. 'I've got three traps; Magic Cylinder in case he goes on the offensive, Call of the Haunted I'm saving for later, and if Cyber Dragon does survive, I've got a Shapesister card.'

"My draw," he heard Luke say. "I set another monster in Defense mode, and I'll end my turn."

Luke: 4000

Jacob: 4000

Jacob drew and heard a familiar sound. He looked at the card he drew and saw it was Kurigoh. It winked once, and Jacob understood. "I summon Kurigoh (ATK/300)!" The puffball appeared on the field, "When Kurigoh is summoned to the field, I can Special Summon up to two more Kurigoh from my deck." Two cards, one from the top and one from the bottom of the deck, slid out. Jacob pulled them out and placed them onto the field.

"But I'm not finished there, I activate a Trap card! Shapesister!" The card on his far left flipped up and a silver, half-formed female monster with long hair appeared next to the Kurigohs. "Shapesister isn't just a Trap Card, it's also a Monster card." The Shapesister's stats appeared; it had 0 ATK and 0 DEF, and was Level 2. "What's more, Shapesister is a Tuner monster. It's time for a tune-up!"

Cyber Dragon and one of the Kurigoh's floated into the air, and Shapesister faded away, leaving two rings in it's place. The rings encircled the two monsters from end to end, leaving only a green outline as they passed over them. A small light appeared inside of Kurigoh, while five appeared inside of Cyber Dragon and a ray of light shot through the rings.

"I Synchro Summon Scrap Dragon (ATK/2800)!" When the light died down, a new monster stood in it's place. It was a dragon made entirely out of metal; sheet metal, springs, gears, it looked like it was assembled in a junk yard. "Now I can activate it's ability: I can destroy one card on each side of the field. I choose one of my Kurigoh's and destroy the second face-down in your Spell/Trap Card zone." One of the Kurigoh's rushed forward and self-destructed, taking the face-down with it. Luke grunted in anger, but it wasn't over yet. "Now I activate Call of the Haunted, to bring Cyber Dragon back from the Graveyard." Cyber Dragon slithered out of a purple and black portal, and made a mechanical noise similar to a growl. "Okay, Scrap Dragon attack Pelta! Cyber Dragon attack the face-down! And Kurigoh, attack Luke directly!"

Scrap Dragon reared it's head back and blew out a stream of orange flames, destroying Pelta, and Cyber Dragon rushed towards the face-down, this time a purplish-gray lizard appeared, and it was destroyed as well.

Before Kurigoh could make it's attack, however, Luke shouted, "I activate both Evolsaur Pelta's and Evoltile Gephyro's ability. Pelta's ability allows me to add one Evoltile monster from my deck to my hand, while Gephyro allows me to Special Summon an Evolsaur monster from my graveyard." Another card slid out from Luke's deck, and Evolsaur Pelta reappeared on the field. It's DEF remained at 2500.

"Either way, Kurigoh has a second ability that allows it to attack you directly!" Kurigoh dashed over Pelta's spikes and rammed into Luke. "I end my turn."

Luke: 3700

Jacob: 4000

Luke drew and said, "I summon Evoltile Casinerio (ATK/1600)." This time, a small brown reptile monster appeared on the field. "Evoltile Casinerio attacks your Kurigoh." The monster jumped into the air and spat up a brown sludge-like substance, which melted Kurigoh into nothing. "Now I activate Casinerio's effect; I can tribute it to Special Summon two Level 6 or lower FIRE Dinosaur-type monsters with the same name from my deck. I choose Evolsaur Elias (DEF/2400)! Now I can build the Overlay Network!" Both Evolsaur Elias monsters turned into red streams of light and they disappeared into a red spiral vortex.

"I Xyz summon Evolzar Solda (ATK/2600)!" A column of fire erupted from the vortex, and it died down to reveal an almost skeletal monster. It had very thin limbs, long wings, a beak-like mouth, and two horns on it's head. It was bluish-white in color and gave out a screech. "I'll end my turn."

Luke: 3700

Jacob: 2700

Jacob drew and saw he had drawn Sword's of Revealing Light. "First, I activate the Swords of Revealing Light!" A set of green swords dropped around Luke's monsters, preventing them from moving. "Now, I activate Scrap Dragon's ability, allowing me to destroy your Evolzar, along with the Swords of Revealing Light." The glowing swords surrounding Evolzar exploded, while the others vanished.

"Now, Scrap Dragon attacks Pelta again, while Cyber Dragon attacks you directly." Scrap Dragon once again reared it's head back and repeated it's attack from before, destroying Pelta again. Cyber Dragon rushed forward attacked Luke directly, slamming into the ground in front of Luke. Another card slid out of Luke's deck, and Jacob ended his turn.

Luke: 1600

Jacob: 2700

Luke drew his card, and smiled. "I activate Dark Hole!" Above them, a black spiral with a white core formed, pulling Scrap Dragon and Cyber Dragon into it and destroying them. "Now I set a monster and another face-down card, and end my turn."

Luke: 1600

Jacob: 2700

Jacob drew and looked at the card. He smirked and shouted, "I activate the Spell card, Monster Reborn!" The dark portal appeared again, and Scrap Dragon flew out, taking it's previous place on the field. "Next, I summon Copycat (ATK/0)." The monster appeared, but because Luke had no face-up monster on his side of the field, it had no ATK.

"Now, I activate Scrap Dragon's ability!" Both Copycat and the face-down monster exploded. Luke didn't seemed too phased by this, and one of his face-down cards flipped face-up. "Xyz Reborn! Since you destroyed Westlo with your effect, I don't get to Special Summon another Evolsaur monster. But with this Trap card, I can Special Summon the one Xyz monster you sent to the Graveyard: Evolzar Solda in Defense mode (DEF/1000)."

"It doesn't matter," Jacob said, "I can still attack! Go Scrap Dragon!" Scrap Dragon attacked once more, and Solda was destroyed. "I'll end my turn."

Luke: 1600

Jacob: 2700

Luke drew and played the card immediately. "Level Limit - Area B! It forces all Level 4 and higher monsters into Defense mode." Scrap Dragon floated down to the ground and folded it's wings in front of it. "I end my turn."

Luke: 1600

Jacob: 2700

Jacob could tell Luke was starting to make mistakes. "Alright, I activate Premature Burial! It costs me 800 Life Points, but I can bring back a monster from my Graveyard. I choose Kurigoh!" The small monster appeared on the field, and Jacob said, "I again activate Scrap Dragon's ability. Apparently, you've forgotten so I'll remind you. I sacrifice Kurigoh in order to destroy your spell!"

Kurigoh charged at the card, and self-destructed on contact. "Now I'm free to attack." Scrap Dragon rose back up and Jacob shouted, "Scrap Dragon, attack! Scrap Heap Burner!" Scrap Dragon shot an orange fireball at Luke, who was thrown back as his Life Points reduced to 0.

Luke: 0

Jacob: 1900

Win: Jacob.

The holograms disappeared, and Jacob rushed over to Luke. He was able to sit up on his own, and Jacob asked if he was okay. Luke stood up, and laughed a little.

"Yeah, I'm fine," he said. "I can't believe you actually beat me though."

"We'll," Jacob said, shrugging his shoulders, "if I had attacked Westlo instead of using Scrap Dragon's effect, you might have lasted a few more turns. You also could have attacked Cyber Dragon with Solda, but you just ended your turn. But, I have to ask," Luke looked ready to blow a fuse, but calmed down and figured out what he was going to say.

"Why didn't I use my face-down card?" Jacob nodded, and he pulled the card from his Duel Disk. He showed it to Jacob, Damage = Reptile. "This card only works when I take battle damage involving a Reptile-type monster. However, since you Special Summoned that Cyber Dragon, I wasn't able to use it, not until I got a hold of a card that could beat it. So I had to use my Evoltile monsters in Defense mode and summon Evolsaurs instead."

The tone sounded, and Kaiba's voice rang out, "Congratulations to our final four duelists." Jacob and Luke put on their duel gazers and saw the last four remaining duelists appear. Jacob was one of them, and so was Yusei. The guy he bumped into had also passed on to the final round, and the final duelist was a girl with light blue hair tied in a ponytail and purple eyes. Jacob was relieved to know Yusei had made it, but he was more focused on the guy he bumped into. He wanted to duel him in the next round, just for the satisfaction of beating him.

"As promised, our top 4 duelists will recieve the very first copies of Duel Monsters Network, but only one of these four will have the chance to battle me." The crowd cheered, and Jacob remembered that as well. Dueling Kaiba would be an added bonus, and it would be the chance of a lifetime.

"And," Kaiba said, "to give you four more incentive to win, the Semi-finals will be a Turbo Duel, followed by a modern day duel for the finals, and in the battle against me, the duel will be the first to take place in Duel Monsters Network!" Now Jacob was seriously pumped up.

It was now intermission, so Jacob and Luke followed the others out of the arena.

Okay, I'll have to stop there. This was a pretty long chapter, and also because it's a Turbo Duel next round, and since I have no idea how those counters work, I'm just gonna say they can use regular Spell cards, but they still cost a set amount of Speed Counters. Until next time, R&R and PM.
