Aries had gotten me through the doors of this hell hole by force. Apparently teacher do not find it odd to see a large man carrying a girl into buildings doesn't seem suspicious.

I didn't bother to ask what the name of the school was. I really could care less. To me it was another poorly funded public school corrupted with a social hierarchy where you were considered cool by the clothes you wear and how much money mommy and daddy make.

"Class, please give Aries and Arista Makenna a warm welcome."

Our first period teacher Mr. Warner said cheerfully. He was a stout man of 40. He was balding severely on his head and she could distinctly see a tattoo peeking out on his skin from his rolled up sleeve.

There were a few unwelcoming greeting from the other kids.

Their stares unnerved me. This is ironic coming from someone nicknamed the Reaper.

"Told you this was a mistake." I whispered to Aries.

He ignored me. Typical.

"Nice to meet ya!" He grinned. "I'm Aries and this is my twin Arista."

Some girl in the back row was fanning herself.

Gross. Not even a few minutes here and some are beginning to drool.

"You two have been assigned seats in the back." Mr. Warner pointed to the only empty seats in the class.

How convenient.

By lunch I was so done.

How can people come back to this place every day? I can't even deal with one?

The cafeteria was just another dour room. Only it served below quality food. Like a prison.

I stared down at the paper bag Aries made this morning.

Ugh.

"Hey Mira!" Aries grinned sitting across from me.

I grunted. I'm still annoyed with him and he knows it.

"Chill sis. Just because we didn't find anything last night doesn't mean something won't turn up later."

He thinks I'm annoyed with squat we found yesterday?

I pondered this. I should be upset. But I think I'm more upset with being here than not finding anything in the records room.

While I thought to myself he dumped the contents of his lunch on the table. An apple tried to make a run –err roll for freedom.

Aries reached for it until a horridly tanned hand grabbed it before I rolled off the circular table.

"This yours?"

I raised an eyebrow. Seriously?

"Well you did just see him lose it."

I replied keeping my irritation from my tone.

Turns out it was the chick fanning herself from first. She would have been pretty except for the spray tan, fifteen pound of makeup, gel bra, and barely any clothes. How does she get away with that?

She looked at me narrowing her eyes. I've seen snakes give me his look before, but snakes tended to like me.

"Yes this is mine." Aires said defusing the situation. She handed him back the Granny Smith.

"Do you mind if I sit here?" She eyes him.

"Sure. More the merrier. Isn't that right Arista?"

Hah he used my name. He's annoyed. I smirked.

His foot connected with my shin.

OW. OW. OW. OW. OW. OW. OW. OW.

"Yeah, more the merrier." I smiled but cried on the inside.

My shin throbbed but I refuse to rub it in front of him.

Minutes of disgusting flirting later the bell rang thank God.

I jumped up from the table and walked for the door as fast as I could.

"What do you have next?" He matched my pace pulling out his schedule from his back pocket.

"Study hall. And you have Chemistry this period."

He looked on his paper. "How'd ya know?"

I snorted. "Master hacker here. Stupid."

Aries rolled his eyes.

"Laters Sis." He went off in the other direction.

The library was okay. There were some leather reading chairs. A sufficient amount of literature and the tech was only a few years outta date. It was comfortable.

Before entering the library I had grabbed my messenger bag from my locker. I started up my laptop and waited for everything to be booted.

"Due is that the new Alien Tech?"

I looked over to see some geeky guy staring in awe at my laptop.

"I guess?"

"But they don't make these style of laptops." He inspected closer.

I immediately pull away.

"Sorry." He says sheepishly.

He wasn't bad looking.

His red hair was duck butted up. He had a narrow face covered in freckles.

And he was just dressed differently.

I guess he is one who would call a hipster. He even has the chunky grandpa glasses.

I shrug. "No harm done." I hold my hand out. "Arista."

He grabs it. "Dorian. And I already know who you and your brother are."

I narrowed my eyes. What does he mean?

"You two are in my first period. Besides the whole student body is talking about the Ice Queen and Captain Amazing.

"Ice Queen?" My lips twitched.

Dorian shrugged. "You know people. Always have to put a label on everything."

"Agreed." I chuckle. "Wanna sit?"

Dorian's green eyes widened. "Really?"

"If I didn't want ya to sit I wouldn't have asked."

He nodded sitting across. He brought out homework and went deep into studying.

I did my own studying.

I still couldn't find the connection between the disappearances.

Ugh. I shut down the computer and leaned my head back. What did I miss?

Aries and I had no trouble breaking in. The locks were those electronic master key ones so all had to do was depolarize the back door with a tinfoil wrapped credit card I stole from the sucker, Warren.

We proceeded to the back room with RECORDS painted on the door. As expected it was unlocked.

"Well we are here, now what?" Aries looked around the room.

I sighed tugging at the file cabinet labeled A through E.

"Find Silva and Montoya. I'll look for Campbell and Garret."

He saluted sarcastically. "Yes Boss!"

"That's Mega Boss to you peasant."

"That doesn't sound like working."

"Shut yer hole and that's an order Maggot!"

Three hours and nothing. None of the files were there. We even looked in the other file cabinets to make sure they weren't misplaced.

"Sis I found something."

I went over flashing my light over the clip board he held.

"It says they were destroyed due to lack of space in the room."

"That's bullshit. They can't do that! Its evidence!"

"Well there are a lot of things people can't do. Like break into a police department in the middle of the night only to waste time and man power to find nadda."

I sighed. "Dammit."

"Ditto sis."

And I'm back at square one.

Someone was shaking my shoulder.

"Arista. The bell rang."

Aries shook my shoulder.

"Go away Aries. I'm sleeping." I brushed him off wanting a few more minutes.

"Arista the librarian is starting to get really mad if we don't leave now."

I opened an eye. Dorian's green eyes met mine.

"Fine." I mumble shoving my computer into my bag and getting to my feet.

The librarian glared at us pointing at the clock.

I gave her the finger.

The old hag's face went red and she sputtered for words.

Dorian, fearing her wrath, grabbed my hood and led me out.

"What the hell was that?"

"Just a goodbye she won't forget." I grin.

He sighed pushing up his grandpa glasses.

"You're not that nice."

I shrug. "Ice Queen remember."

We walked towards the lockers. I was almost to mine when something wet and cold plopped down on my head.

I wiped away some liquid dribbling into my eyes.

Blue. I licked it. Blue raspberry Slurpee.

"How do you like that Ice Queen?" The fake bitch from lunch laughed.

I turned around to see her and her posse standing there. She held the still dripping cup.

I licked my sticky lips tasting nothing but blueberry.

"It's quite refreshing. Wanna try some?"

I grabbed the crushed ice from my hair and balled it into a solid chunk of ice.

She stopped laughing. She took a step back planning on bolting.

"ARISTA!" Aries shouted from behind the crowd that had formed around us.

I turned around. He looked pissed. People let him by.

"Go to the car. Here are the keys." He pressed them into the hand not holding the ice ball. He turned to my right. "Could you take her please?"

It must have been Dorian.

"Come on Arista." I let him drag me out of there.

When we reached the student parking he asked which car.

"The Jeep. Towards the gates." I pointed. My finger were stained blue from the Slurpee.

"Gotcha." He nodded when he saw the black Wrangler.

"Could ya stop pulling me?" I took my jacket sleeve out of his grip.

"Sorry."

"No prob."

I walked straight for the driver side unlocking it and hopping in.

"What about your brother?" Dorian asked as I started the engine.

"He can find his own goddamn way home!" I backed up and sped away.

Officially the worst first day of school.
