Afterwards

Aries found that weird kid in the parking lot. The jeep was nowhere in sight.

"She took off." He stated.

"I don't blame her." Aries sighed. "I shouldn't have made her come."

Guilt consumed him.

She's going to be so pissed. I'll never hear the end of her 'I TOLD YOU SO' ranting.

The kid looked back towards the gate. "Need a ride? I'm not parked far."

Arista's warning popped into his head.

Don't accept rides from strangers. Don't even let them know where you live. It's safer for the both of us.

"Actually I could use a ride. Thanks."

The kid shrugged. "Welcomes."

Aries stuck his hand out. "I'm Aries. Thanks for taking care of Mira."

"Mira?"

"Sorry Arista."

"Not a big deal. She's the first person who's been nice to me all year. I'm Dorian."

The rest of the car ride was silent until his house came into view.

"Right here is good. Thanks again." Dorian waved him off.

Aries waved goodbye till Dorian's silver Charger was out of sight.

Instead of facing Her wrath at the moment he went into the garage and found their dad's old metal baseball bat. Then he booted up the old computer that was set up on a forgotten desk.

Arista had shown him the basics to hacking a while ago. At the time he really could have cared less. Now Aries was wishing he paid more attention.

After much confusion and sever close calls with the sites verification codes he was in. Soon he printed out what he needed. Now all he had to do was wait for the cover of night.

24 Hours Later

Someone knocked on the door.

And I would have ignored it if they had not yelled 'Police! Open up!'

Damn.

I left my room and hurried down the stairs.

I looked through the peep hole. So far they looked like the Po Po.

"Hello how may I help you?" I asked sweetly opening the door.

"Are you Arista Miranda Makenna?"

Crap. What the hell did I do this time?

"That would be me." I didn't have to fake innocence, I really have no idea what this is about.

"Where were you between 10:30 pm and 1:00 am?"

What.

"Uh home officer."

"Do you have an alibi to prove that?"

What the hell are they getting at?

"Yes my brother Aries was home too. We stayed up playing Call of Duty last night."

"Where is your brother?"

"School. I stayed home because I had a fever."

Thanks to that Bitch and her Slurpee.

At least I looked sick. I haven't showered for the day so my hair was everywhere and I was dressed in baggy blue sweats, a knitted grey button up sweater, and wool socks.

I narrowed my eyes. "And if you're going to bust me for ditching I already called in."

"Are you 18?"

"Emancipated. And what is with all the questioning?"

The hard ass in the uniform narrowed his eyes at me.

"Grand Theft Auto and destruction of private property."

Hah. I haven't stolen a car since middle school. So who did?

"Sorry Officer I have no idea what you are talking about. Have a good rest of your day."

I shut the door harder than necessary.

Aries came home an hour later.

"I'm home!" He called from downstairs.

I walked down the stairs.

"You wouldn't happen to know why the police were over today, would you?"

I narrowed my eyes.

Aries fidgeted. "Well . . ."

Apparently he figured no one would suspect him of committing an offence so he went ahead and hacked into the DMV data base and printed out the bimbo from first period address and car info. He smashed in all of the windows and denting every inch of its body after hot wiring the ignition and joyriding it into a river bed outside of town. Not to mention lighting the gas tank on fire.

I hugged him.

"I'm proud of you." I laugh.

He laughs also. "Well I figure it was less destructive than what you had planned."

I shrugged.

He's right.

"How about I make us some chocolate pie while you tell me about the look on that skanks face when you saw her at school today."

"Sounds good."

We both headed into the kitchen. He sat at the bar while I grabbed the pudding mix.

END.
