Last Time on Iron Heart Alchemist
"Al's right, Ed, We are all we have. I shouldn't have called you, or your temper, short. I was just mad. The short thing was a low blow so you can take one free shot at me, when you want to, anywhere on the body, and as hard as you want to, no strings attached." Naruto said with a smirk visible on his face.

A few days later it was raining. Everyone was in the living room doing their own thing. Ed was sitting on the floor reading yet another alchemy book. Pinako was giving Winry auto- mail lessons. Naruto was sitting on the couch looking out the window. Al was sitting next to him watching him.
"Naruto, what are you thinking about?" Al asked, finally voicing his question.
"Oh nothing, I'm just sleepy. I think I'm going to go take a nap. What about you two?" Naruto asked as he stood up, and walked out of the room.
"You know what, I am too. Come on Al, let's go." Ed said as he closed his book, grabbed Al's hand, and followed Naruto.
"They have been sleeping a lot lately, haven't they?" Winry asked looking up from the hand she was studying.
"Yes, yes they have." Pinako said, with her eyes on the door the boys took.

Once all three were in their room, Naruto closed the door.
"Ok, I think we need a new code phrase. I think they are catching on to that one." Naruto said as he turned to his brothers.
"Your right, but that can wait. What do you want to talk to us about?" Ed asked as he sat on his bed.
"Did you understand what you were reading earlier?" Naruto asked while crossing his arms and looking out the window.
"Most of it, why?" Ed asked looking at Naruto trying to see where he was coming from.
"I was reading that book this morning, and I couldn't make heads or tails of it. I think I need a teacher." Naruto said as he looked away from the window to his brother. What Ed saw was a look of Naruto pleading with him.
"What do you mean, you need a teacher?" Ed asked, a little hurt that he wasn't enough.
"Um, brother, if it wasn't for you, I wouldn't understand it either. Plus, they might have some books that we don't have here." Al said trying to keep the peace.
"Well it doesn't matter 'cause there aren't any Alchemist within a ten miles of here. Tell you what, if you can find us an Alchemist before we collect everything we need, then I will try to get them to teach us. Good luck trying to find an Alchemist though." Ed said with a smirk on his face. The smirk soon fell when there was a knock on the door.
"Boys, the river is going to overflow soon. We are going to the bank to see if we can do anything." With that said, everyone walked out of the house.
Once they got to the there, the river was about to overflow. The men, who had stacked the sandbags along the bank, ran for higher ground.
A woman, with long black hair that was pulled into a pony tail, was seen by the bank. With her was large man. He wasn't fat, but tall and muscular.
"Hey brothers, who are they, pair down there the big guy and the woman?" Naruto asked when he spotted them.
The woman calmly walked to the, now overflowing, river. She clapped her hands, and then threw them to the ground. Soon several walls were formed around the river. She dusted her hands off and walked to the large man.
"That should last for a while." She said to the crowd. Naruto, Ed and Al were in the front of said crowd.
"Who are you?" a random villager asked.
"Oh, just a house wife passing though." Said the woman, she then became pale; she then bent down and threw up blood. The large man handed her a cloth to wipe her face. At this time the three boys ran up to her.
"Hey old lady, can you be our teacher?" Ed said when they reached her.
The woman then clapped her hands again, and again she put her hands on the ground. This time, however a hand appeared, and knocked them backwards. The boys just got up, and ran back to her.
"Pretty, pretty please old lady!" All three shouted at the same time.
"I'm a little hard of hearing, you see. So, I didn't catch that. Maybe you would like to repeat yourself?" The whole time she was talking, she was standing over them looking like she would eat your soul. The boys looked at Al, and he made the best puppy dog look he could make.
"Please, please teach us, pretty lady." He said his voice coated with honey.
"NO!" came her reply.
"Well why not?" Naruto asked.
"I don't take on students. Plus, I'm in the middle of a trip, and besides, what about your parents?" She said looking down at the three boys.
"Um, ma'am, these little ones don't have any parents." The same random villager told her.
Upon hearing this, the woman took a closer look at the three, and notices that the smallest one (Al) was about to cry. The middle height one (Ed) had his arms around him, while the tallest (Naruto) just stared at her.
"Well how can I say no to that?"

If you were wondering why I haven't updated in a while, well I have many reasons. First I lost my flash drive all my stories were on, then on Thanksgiving I left it at my sister's house and wasn't able to get it until Christmas due to the fact we live in different states, then I sent it to my unofficial beta and never heard back. Sorry brica I couldn't wait any longer. To make it up to my readers, I will do a double update. The only reason Not Alone got an update sooner was because unofficial beta doesn't beta that story.
On a different note, my older sister also has an account here as well, but it's not doing as well. Because I don't want to hear it any more, so, I will ask you to read her stories. Her pen name is InsertNameHereMS, you can find it with my favorite authors. One story is an Ouran High School Club called The Good, The Bad, The Host. It's about three American siblings who find themselves working for the host club. She has told me her plans for it, and I have to say it might be a good read. Her other one is call ABC's for ninjas. That one is a collect of one shots. She said that she might delete that one is favor of another one called 100 Stupid Things People Do, it's going to be a Naruto story, Though that is all I know about it.

In the manga, Neji's curse mark is a Manji, a common symbol used in Buddhism, instead of an X in the anime. It was edited to avoid confusion, as the Manji looks similar to the symbol of the Nazi.
