A/N: Hey there! I'm so sorry it took so long to get this chapter up. RL has been kicking my ass! But here is the second chapter! Thank you to my lovely pre-readers for all their help! And thank you for all the reviews and/or alerts!

BPOV

Kneeling down next to the body of the latest victim, I concentrated on leveling out my breathing. As much as I loved my job, once Jasper and I were briefed on more details of the case, I was starting to panic and dread working it. The way the victims were murdered and left at the scene was way too eerily similar to another case in my past.

"You okay Bells?" Jasper asked softly as he knelt down on the other side of the victim. I could see the two detectives talking quietly in the kitchen out of the corner of my eye as I looked up at him. Blinking quickly to remove any trace of unshed tears, I nodded.

"It's too similar, Jazz. All three of these victims are just like Jane," I whispered.

Jasper glanced down at the victim before looking back at me, a pained expression on his face at the thought of Jane.

"It's not the same, B. You know that. Besides, it's been fourteen years!"

"Jasper, look at her! Really look at her and tell me it's not the same!" I argued, standing to my feet.

My outburst caught the attention of everyone else in the room. I looked around to see the two detectives, Edward and Rosalie, as well as the FBI agent, Emmett, and the crime scene guys giving me an odd look.

"Can we talk about this later? In private?" I hissed, Jasper just nodded his head once.

Edward, Rosalie, and Emmett started making their way over to us when one of the crime scene techs shouted, "Hey, M&M, you might wanna check this out!"

"M&M?" Jasper snickered, looking to Emmett as Rosalie and Edward rolled their eyes.

"The department's nickname for us," Edward muttered, leading the way over to the crime scene tech that was standing in the doorway to the victim's bedroom. We all filed into the bedroom after him, our laughter at their nickname dying as we took in the scene before us.

"Well, this is new," Rosalie said, glancing at the drawing scrawled in blood on the wall above the bed. My head swam as I looked up at it, way too many thoughts going through my mind to even think straight.

"Oh my God," I whispered, my hand flying to my mouth as I ran from the room and into the backyard before emptying my stomach into the bushes.

"Shit," Jasper hissed before running after Bella.

Rose, Emmett, and I just looked at each other before following them out, after instructing the crime scene tech, Tyler, to document everything.

When we walked out to the backyard, Bella was wrapped in Jasper's arms, sobbing almost uncontrollably while he was trying to soothe her and calm her down.

"It's him Jasper! It's him, it has to be!" she wailed while we looked on in confusion.

"Bells, it can't be! He's been dead for fourteen years! You know that!" he argued back, rubbing her back, neither of them even noticing we were there.

"Then you tell me how that drawing is there Jazz! You tell me who else would know about that! Tell me who else would know about that damn eye!" she shouted at him, backing away from his hold.

"Um, guys…Is there something we should know about that drawing?" Rose asked, stepping closer to them. Bella and Jasper whipped around to see all three of us standing there. Neither of them said a word while Bella wiped the tears from her face.

"Maybe we should take this back to the station?" I suggested.

Bella nodded and walked to the side gate of the backyard.

"I can't go back in there right now. I'll be in the car, Jazz," she said quietly, disappearing around the fence.

Jasper just looked at us, sighed heavily, and said, "It's gonna be a long damn night," before following her to the car.

"What the hell was that?" Emmett whispered, before walking back into the house.

Rose and I just shrugged. Emmett decided to drive the two agents back to the station while Rose and I finished up at the scene before meeting them back there.

Two hours later, Rose and I were walking into the station. We found Emmett with Bella and Jasper in one of the conference rooms. Our captain let me and Rose take over this room for our investigation. The walls were covered in crime scene photos, medical examiner reports, maps, and anything else we could think would be helpful.

"Hey Rosie, you guys get finished over there?" Emmett asked, standing to give her a quick kiss before sitting back down at the head of the table.

She nodded and took a seat on his left, across from Jasper, leaving me to sit across from Bella, who was sitting with her hands folded in her lap and staring at the table.

"I owe you guys an apology for my behavior back there," she mumbled, looking up at us.

"Why don't you just tell us what you know about that drawing?" I suggested. She glanced at Jasper, nodding twice, before she started.

"You were right, Rose. There is something you need to know about that drawing. But in order for me to tell you that, I have to start at the beginning," she said, "And you have to be patient with me. This isn't the easiest thing for me to talk about."

"It's okay, Bells. Just take it slow and I can help you out if you need me to. I was there, too," Jasper said, rubbing her back.

Bella stood up and began pacing along the wall behind her, taking a few deep breaths.

"Jasper and I have known each other since we were six years old. We lived next door to each other growing up. My mom died when I was born, and Jasper's dad was in the military and not home very much. My dad was the Chief of Police so he was working a lot. My Aunt Jane took care of us most of the time. She was amazing, both of us loved her! That drawing is the Eye of Horus, an ancient Egyptian symbol of protection and good health. Jane had a necklace with a pendant of that eye, exactly like it was drawn on the wall. She told us that when she originally bought it, she just thought it was pretty," she laughed humorlessly, "But once she found out what the symbol meant, she became intrigued and never took it off. She would stay up late with us making up ridiculous stories about ancient Egyptian princes and princesses. It became sort of like an inside joke between the three of us."

"When we were nine, Bella's dad got remarried," Jasper said, taking over for her, "Sue was okay, but her son was a different story. Seth was two years older than us and loved to pick on us. At first, it was little things, like pulling Bella's hair or tripping me when I walked by. But as we got older, it got worse."

Jasper looked up at Bella as she stopped pacing and stood behind him, one hand on his shoulder.

"By the time we were thirteen, it had gotten really bad. But Charlie, my dad, was so infatuated with Sue that he refused to listen. And Sue thought her son was an angel and that Jasper and I were just making it up to get attention," Bella huffed, "We tried to prove it to them, showed them bruises he would leave on me, showed them the threatening notes he would put in Jasper's locker at school, even told them that we had caught him messing with this stray dog he found. He had gutted the damn thing!"

I sat back in my chair, listening to their story and getting a bad feeling about this guy. I glanced over to Rose and Emmett and could tell they were thinking the same thing by the looks on their faces.

"They still didn't' believe us! They still thought we were doing all this to get attention. So finally, we went to Aunt Jane. She had never been a big fan of Sue or her son. When Charlie and Sue got married, he told Jane that she didn't have to take care of us anymore; that Sue could watch after us while he was working," Bella said.

"So Jane confronted Charlie and Sue. They had a huge fight, and Jane left, telling Charlie that if it kept on, she would confront Seth herself. About two months later, it still hadn't stopped and Jane saw it. So one night, when she knew Charlie and Sue had been out of town for their anniversary, she came over to confront Seth. Told me and Bella to stay in her room and not come out until she came to get us," Jasper said quietly, his eyes welling up with tears.

They both became quiet for a few minutes. Bella walked away from Jasper and stood by the window, her shoulders slightly shaking, tears falling down her face.

"What happened?" Rose whispered, sounding almost scared to find out the answer to her question. She reached over and grabbed Emmett's hand and I leaned forward, resting my elbows on the table as we waited for the answer.

"He fucking gutted her just like that damn dog!" Bella shouted, whipping around to look at us, "Just like all three of your victims! We could hear her screaming but were so scared, we couldn't move from my bed. I sat there frozen while he murdered my aunt!"

Rose had tears in her eyes, and Emmett swore quietly to himself, shaking his head. I could see how bad Bella was still hurting about this but blurted out my question before I could stop myself.

"So is he our guy? What happened to him?"

Bella and Jasper both turned to look at me, both shaking their heads.

"No, he's not our guy. He can't be. He's been dead for fourteen years," Jasper replied, looking at Bella as he said it.

"Jazz, who else would have known about that eye? It's not like it's a popular symbol! He knew how much it meant to me, you, and Jane! He took the damn necklace with him when he left the house. You saw him when we came out of my room. He still had the knife in his hand, the necklace in the other!"

"Okay, hold on, I'm confused. Is the guy dead or not?" Emmett asked.

"Yes," Jasper said as Bella replied with, "They never found his body."

"Wait, Bella, why don't you back up a bit. What happened the night of your aunt's murder? What happened when you came out of your room?" Rose asked, grabbing a notepad and a pen to take notes with.

"When we came out of my room, he was walking out of the bathroom. He had a butcher knife in one hand, wiping it off on a towel, and Jane's necklace in the other hand. We stood there staring at each other for a minute before he pointed the knife at me and said that I should just be glad it was Jane and not me, and then he left. I ran into the other room to find Jane on the bed while Jasper called 911," Bella explained, sitting back down in her chair.

"After the initial investigation at the scene, they started looking for him. I went to stay at Jasper's house even after Charlie and Sue had come home. I felt betrayed by my dad for not believing me. The police couldn't find Seth anywhere but somehow he was getting around town, because Jasper and I would find notes from him in our lockers, in Jasper's mom's car, even in my room!"

"What did the notes say?" I asked, feeling like I was interviewing someone instead of talking to two FBI agents.

"Every single one of them had a drawing of that eye. And they all said the same thing; you're next," Jasper said.

"But after two weeks, the cops finally caught up to him. I still have no idea how they found him. He was hiding out in the woods somewhere. When they found him, he took off, the cops chasing after him. They caught up to him again at the Calawah River Bridge. He was standing on the railing of the bridge with his back to them. When he wouldn't get down or give himself up, one of the officers shot him in the back," Bella said, her voice detached and her eyes staring at the table, "He fell in the river. It had stormed the day before and the river was flooded a little bit. His body was washed away in the currents. They searched for him for weeks but never found anything."
