A/N I'm being generous today and uploading two chapters in one day, aha! No, actually the reason for this is because I am going on holiday next week, so there will be no chapter updates for at least a fortnight. I hope you all still enjoy the story! Here's chapter 4
"That's it...we're lost." Kristoff sighs in frustration, his brows furrowed and his huge arms crossed over his chest. Any other time I'd mock him and point out how adorable he was when he is grumpy, but not now.
It had long gone night fall. The moon, a glimmering white crescent, shines down and casts eerie shadows upon even the smallest of the towering trees surrounding us.
Earlier on, I'd been so determined, so hopeful and optimistic about finding Elsa, but now, we had hit a dead end. We didn't know where we were or where were we were going, and I had no clue of Elsa's whereabouts. The forest seemed to be a continuous carousel of snow covered branches and hidden roots of trees that lay cautious to anyone that could trip and fall.
I look up at the starry night sky and frown in concentration. Kristoff turns to me, brow raised, "What are you doing?" He questions.
"Looking for a constellation," I sigh and look away from the sky in defeat, "I never could figure them out. I used to look for them when I was a kid. Elsa..." I pause, feeling a tight knotting sensation in my stomach, I breath in slowly and continue, "She used to say that sometimes they lead you the way you want to go, but I'd never know, I can never join the stars to form anything." I can feel tears attacking the corners of my eyes, I try desperately to hold them back, but it's no use. I'm frightened, but not for myself, for my sister.
"Oh...Anna." Kristoff says softly. He hesitates for a second, before wrapping his arms around my trembling body. I must look like an utter fool, crying my eyes out, but still he strokes the back of my hair and whispers comforting words into my ears.
I soon stop crying and retract slowly from Kristoff's arms. I rub at my eyes vigorously and Kristoff and I exchange friendly smiles.
"Right then...let's-" I am cut short by a loud howling sound, echoing through the trees from the distance. Kristoff and I return a look of fear.
"Wolves..." I squeak, in a hushed, fearful voice.
"Come on, we've got to get out of here!" Kristoff says, fear trembling across his words. He grabs my wrist and begins to run, guiding me through the countless loose branches, heavy with powdery snow. I stumble on over grown roots and my own feet, afraid to look back I keep my eyes focused on Kristoff's figure in front, dragging me through the trees. From the distance I can hear the rapid pound of the wolves pawing through the snow and trees faster than anything I have ever imagined. Instantly I know, the wolves are catching up. Another howl, closer this time, bellows through the forest, making ever hair on my neck stand up. Kristoff gives a worried glance back, his eyes focused behind me and I'm too afraid to look, I keep a firmer hold of his arm and continue to run as fast as my legs will carry me. I can feel them coming extremely close, their pants fast and near, their howls frighteningly close. I squeeze my eyes closed tightly. This is it! This is the end! I scream over and over in my mind.
"Anna! Anna go!" Kristoff's panicked voice yells, as he pushes my body forward. It takes my mind a few seconds to realise what is happening, I'm falling. I try to release a scream but suddenly I land on a soft sheet of thick snow. I look up from where I lie and see the starry nights sky once again, before everything in my world goes black.
