To recap on what happened on the last chapter, Don had a family moment and Shredder had a plan for April.
This chapter is when Shredder's plan for April goes into action. Please, no flames. And sorry for such the long wait, but lately I didn't want to write anything, plus school starts in about a week.
Disclaimer: I do not own TMNT, but I wished I did.
One Week Later
RING… RING… RING… "Hello? This is Donatello speaking." Don answered his shell cell, pausing the sparring match with Leo. What he heard on the other side was not something he ever wanted to hear again.
"HELP!" April screamed from the other side. "I'M BEING ATTACKED BY THE FOOT AND HUN! I MAY BE GETTING BETTER AT NINJITSU, BUT I'M BEING OTHER POWERED. I NEED YOU GUYS HERE, NOW! I DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH LONGER I CAN HOLD UP! -*Click*"
"APRIL! Where are you?" Don asked, but only silence was his answer. "April?! ANSWER! Where are you?" Don asked again, but he got the same response. So instead of asking again, he just listened. But all he got was static. April's shell cell was disconnected, not good. But again, neither were the foot clan and the purple dragons.
"MASTER SPLINTER, APRIL'S IN TROUBLE, SHE'S BEING ATTACKED BY THE FOOT AND HUN, BUT HER SHELL CELL WAS DISCONNECTED." Don yelled at his sensei, to say that they were leaving. But first, he needed to find where her signal came from. 'Good thing after I came blind that I adjusted all of my equipment so that I could use it.' Don thought going to his lab.
"Now where did I put the signal transmitter?" Don asked out loud.
"You mean the device that has a weird antenna thingy and has blinking lights?" Mikey asked. "Because if it, I found it then."
"Yes, it is. Can you hand it over here? Quickly please, April could be in some serious trouble." Don quickly said, setting everything up on his computer. Once he had it, he found the signal no problem. All he had to do was triangulate the position, zoom in on that area, figure out what area that is from what sound the computer made that only his highly trained ears could pick up (like a dog whistle, only for turtles), triangulate another more specific position, then finally have those coordinates imported into his shell cell. No biggie.
"Come on, we lost a lot of time." Leo said once Don handed him the coordinates.
"DONNIE? DONNIE!" April yelled back into her shell cell, but she got nothing but static.
"What Do You Want With Me Hun?!" April screamed at Hun, giving him the deadliest glare she could muster. "The Turtles Will Be Here Soon, Then You'll Be Sorry!"
"And how is that even possible, I cut off their signal before you were able too? Besides, if they do come, they'll probably look for you somewhere they know you've been before, not in a small abandoned shack on the other side of the city." Hun said, thinking he had beaten her.
"Then you have underestimated them Hun. They will come and beat you, no matter what it takes, they will come." April calmly said.
"Then let them come, I look forward to that. But first, FOOT SOLDIERS HIDE AND AMBUSH THE TURTLES WHEN THEY COME!" Hun ordered.
'Please guys, get here soon, I don't know how much longer I can last.' April thought, attacking Hun once again.
"Don? Are you sure you'll be able to drive blindly? We haven't practiced this yet." Leo asked worriedly. The entire time Don had been blind, they forgot to see if Don could still drive and handle the battle shell.
"Don't worry Leo; I know this city and this vehicle like the back of my hand. I know exactly where to go. Besides, all I have to do is stick my shell cell in the GPS module and off we go. It's basically driving itself; I'm just making sure it gets there safely." Donnie said calmly hoping to calm his brother's nerves while starting to drive off. "And you forget that my necklace acts as my eyes."
"Wait, what necklace?" Mikey asked.
"You didn't know about the necklace that Master Splinter gave me? It's not that hard to see, especially since it's on my plastron." Donnie replied to Mikey's question while turning left into a busy street.
"Not really because you're always hiding away in your lab, doing one thing or another, brainiac." Raph said bluntly, as always. "Besides, when and where did u get that?"
"Master Splinter gave it to me on our birthdays, specifically mine, but- Mikey, please tell me that u aren't sneaking up on me to take my necklace. Master Splinter said I was never supposed to take this necklace off for one reason or another." Don finished saying, turning right. "We should be at April's location in approximately 4.0356 minutes."
'Why does he have to get technical on us? Couldn't he just say soon?' Raph thought.
'Where are they? They should be here soon.' April thought dodging another attack from Hun and the foot. 'I'm starting to tire out, and Hun sprained my ankle.'
No sooner had she thought that, all four of the turtles came stealthily in through the doors and windows, slowly taking out all of the foot one by one. Once the number of foot ninjas dwindled down enough, they came out of hiding and confronted Hun head on.
"Donnie! Get April Out Of Here!" Leo started barking orders.
"Roger that." Don replied, 'Sure, give the blind turtle the job of protecting someone else.' Don thought, criticizing himself. 'Now only if I could find her...'
"Hey Donnie! I'm over here." April yelled out as if sensing that Donatello couldn't find her on his own.
In the span of the next few seconds, April found herself being picked up in strong but gentle arms, and being rushed to the BattleShell; which caused her to give a yelp of pain from the sudden movement to her ankle.
"What happened, does something hurt?" Donnie asked, hearing the pained grunt he heard coming from April.
"My ankle, after dodging Hun and the Foot for a little while, he caused me to stumble, spraining my right ankle." April replied, starting to look over Don's shoulder. "DONNIE, LOOK OUT!"
Donatello may have had very quick reflexives, but he wasn't fast enough to completely miss the multiple Shuriken's that embedded themselves into his limbs and shell.
Well here is the thirteenth chapter of 'I Can't See', hoped you enjoyed it and I will start working on the fourteenth chapter and hopefully get it uploaded by the end of the month. If not, review saying that I need to hurry. I won't hold it against you. But i may be a lot longer now with my updates because of school.
P.S – it has been five months and fifteen days since Don has been blind just so you know if anybody out there got confused. Or maybe a little more than that, I think I forgot to include some days.
Until then, bye.
