To recap on what happened on the last chapter, Shredder hatched his plan and Donnie got hurt.

This chapter is when Donatello's brothers have to deal with a hurt and blind brother. Please, no flames. And from now on (hopefully) my time skips won't be too big of a jump for the next 5-10 chapters. The most will be a 2-3 week skip.

Disclaimer: I do not own TMNT, but I wished I did.

Next Day

"Donnie."

Don could hear someone vaguely calling his name.

"Come on bro, time to wake up."

Now someone else was calling to Don.

"I know you can do it, you always can."

Someone else was encouraging him.

"Wake up, my son."

Don could now hear them a bit more clearly within the few minutes that just passed by. He slowly opened his eyes… and he swore for a split second he was able to see his family hovering over him. But as fast as it came, it was gone.

"Ugh, what happened, last thing I remember was carrying April to the BattleShell." Donatello asked his family, slowly sitting up on the bed in his lab/med bay.

"This is one of those good/bad situations. So do you want the good than the bad, or the other way around?" Leo asked while setting his right hand on Don's left shoulder.

"Bad, that way the good will sound even better." Don finally answered after pondering it for a minute or two.

"The bad news is that when you were escaping with April, some foot ninja's followed you, but we were too busy with our own that we couldn't follow, so they got a lucky shot on you and were able to embed several shuirkens into your body; also causing a small fracture on your shell. Luckily none of them hit you on your neck or head." Mikey replied, and then was going to state the good news when Leo cut in. "The good news is that April got home safely; and she was able to figure out another ingredient and can roughly figure out how many ingredients there is, she thinks there is about ten."

"Well that's good, what's the ingredient? Maybe I can put the two ingredients that we have figured out, put them in my computer, and we can see just how many possible outcomes there is. Then possibly send that to LH to see if he can come up with anything." Don declared, more to himself by the end of it.

"She was able to find Potassium dichromate, but she wanted to tell you the effects herself since she couldn't find your chemical lists that she required to see and compare chemicals and maybe see if any of them were in that substance. But she can tell you something else, but she didn't tell us, said it was private." Leo stated.

"When is she going to be here?" Don asked.

"I'm already here Don. Now, let's get to business, but first; guys, can you leave us alone for a few hours, that be highly appreciated." April declared, shooing the guys and Master Splinter away.

"How you feeling Don?" April asked, finally able to get them alone.

"Like I got hit by a bus, but other than that, I'm perfectly fine." Don answered. "So you needed my chemical sheets? It's in top left drawer on my desk, in a little hidden compartment at the bottom. Just look for a slightly different colour difference."

"Really? I swore I searched everywhere." April stated, getting up to get the papers. After scavenging for a few, she finally found it, and quickly scanned the sheet to see if she could find something. And she did.

"So I'm assuming your bros already told you about the ingredient that I have found right? Well after scanning your sheet it doesn't seem like you have it, so I'm lucky I brought my copy too to show to you, or tell you I meant. But what Potassium dichromate is, is an acutely and chronically harmful to health chemical, but when dissolved in an approximately 35% nitric acid solution it is called Schwerter's solution and is used to test for the presence of various metals, notably for determination of silver purity. Pure silver will turn the solution bright red, sterling silver will turn it dark red, low grade coin silver (0.800 fine) will turn brown (largely due to the presence of copper which turns the solution brown) and even green for 0.500 silver. Brass turns dark brown, copper turns brown, lead and tin both turn yellow while gold and palladium do not change." April stated.

After digesting what April said, Donatello asked one simple question. "So what you are telling me is that not only did you find one ingredient, you basically found three am I correct?"

"Exactly, the only thing is that I don't know if it is lead or tin in the concoction to turn this yellow, because it can't be anything else because it's hard to make something stay yellow like that. So yes, I found that this is approximately 35% nitric acid, has lead or tin, and Potassium dichromate."

"That's all I needed to know, thanks April, but that doesn't mean you should stop, but you can take a break for a bit. Now that I have more ingredients to go off of, I could possibly continue on. Now why don't you go home and rest, just like I will in a few minutes, or hours, depending on what I can find." Donatello said to April, who was yelling her goodbyes.

"Hey guys?! I'm going to Leatherheads to see if he can make heads or tails with this information. I shouldn't be more than a few hours at most, come and get me if I'm more than five, please and thank you." Donnie said heading for the sewer slider.

"Ok, be careful please, and take care." Leo stated, momentarily pausing his kata he was working on.

'Must be around two then if he's working on katas. He's like a clock; he does everything at the same time every single day for the most part.' Don thought heading out.

A few minutes later

"Leatherhead?! Are you here?!" Donatello yelled into the quite home area of LH.

"Oh, hello Donatello, I didn't hear you come in. Make yourself at home. Oh, if I may ask, what can I do for you in your presence?" Leatherhead said, getting some coffee for his friend.

"I just came to see if you could make heads or tails with this information that April gave me, I'm also doing this at home as we speak. Or should I say my computers are doing this as we speak." Don replied, getting handed his coffee and taking a few sips. "This time she was able to find three ingredients with the help of one ingredient, sound familiar?" Don asked knowingly.

"Yes, Potassium dichromate, which is a very powerful chemical, and with previous knowledge of the last ingredient you gave me, Ammonium formate, and the fact the mixture was yellow. I guess you, or should I say April, lead and/or tin, and approximately 35% nitric acid." Leatherhead stated with ease, but one question still plagued his mind. "Donatello, if I may so ask, have you thought of actually searching up yourself chemicals that could lead to blindness?"

"Yes, I have thought of that, but you see, with me not being able to see, and my brothers and sensei not knowing almost everything I have learned, that method is quite useless in my case. And for not asking either you or April, well that's not a story I would like to delve upon." Donatello replied honestly. "Now if you excuse me, but if I don't leave soon my brothers will be bombarding your place, so see you later LH."

Well here is the fourteenth chapter of 'I Can't See', hoped you enjoyed it and I will start working on the fifteenth chapter and hopefully get it uploaded by the end of the month. If not, review saying that I need to hurry. I won't hold it against you.

P.S – it has been five months and sixteen days since Don has been blind just so you know if anybody out there got confused. Or maybe a little more than that, I think I forgot to include some days.

And like stated before, you should check out this chemical to get a better understanding of what it does. But take into account that I am taking random chemicals that sound cool to put in this story. I don't actually think that these ingredients do this sort of thing and not just blow up.

Until then, bye.
