To recap on what happened on the last chapter, April told Donnie about a few more chemicals.
This chapter is when we finally figure out what Donnie was doing before he became blind (chapter 1). Please, no flames. And from now on (hopefully) my time skips won't be too big of a jump for the next 5-10 chapters. The most will be a 2-3 week skip. And I'm very sorry for the long wait, but for those who are in high school or passed it already, but you guys know how hard grade 10 could be.
Disclaimer: I do not own TMNT, but I wished I did.
Two Weeks Later
"Master Splinter? Can I talk to you for a minute?" Donatello asked, knowing enough time has passed to finally tell Master Splinter what he was doing in the junkyard that faithful night.
"Yes, my son, you may." Splinter replied, once Donatello was seated, he continued. "What would you like to talk about?"
"You see Master; do you remember my little excursion with my brothers to the junkyard six months back?" Donatello spoke.
"Yes, what part of that night would you like to talk about?" Master Splinter replied.
"Well I sort of may have half lied to you on that day." Donatello confessed. "My computer did need to get updated to keep up with the ever changing technology, but that was only half of it. The full truth was I was trying to equipment my computer to sense the shredder coming anywhere to our lair, so I setting up a serious security system that would only allow anyone with a key card to pass safely."
"Then why, my son, would you keep that a secret for so long? Will it not help us with our safety?" Master Splinter inquired.
"Yes it will, but the thing is it was for a different reason completely," Don stated, "I was trying to make sure a certain future would never happen."
"And what future would that be?" Master Splinter inquired.
"Do you remember the day the ultimate Draco sent us to different places?" Don asked.
"Yes, very well, all your brothers told me of theirs, but you didn't…" Master Splinter trailed off, and then it clicked. "Something really bad happened in your realm, didn't it?"
"Yes, I landed in the lair, but it was abandoned. Everything but the Tunneler was completely trashed. Confused, I made my way outside where the Foot Gestapo immediately tried to arrest me. I complied until I noticed Shredder's emblem on their uniforms and prepared to face them. But then a shadowy figure then intervenes, and the Foot turned their attention away from me. After he killed most of the Foot, he came into the light and I saw Michelangelo, who was missing his left arm. He was much older, and he immediately asked me where I've been; confusing me for his Donatello, who apparently disappeared over 30 years ago.
Mikey then took me to see you, Master Splinter. On the way there, he explained that Shredder had won, and that the entire planet was now under his control. He further explained how I was the glue that held them all together, but once I disappeared, the others didn't get along and drifted apart. Before we arrived, my whole self-started to fluctuate, but it suddenly stopped. When we arrive, I was heartbroken to see your grave, since you had sacrificed yourself trying to save us. I then came up with a plan to defeat Shredder, but would need help from my other brothers. Mikey considered that a tall order, but goes to someone he feels can get them all together again.
We arrive at a secret Resistance base where April is the leader of a Rebel army. She was overjoyed to see me and told me that both Splinter and Casey knew he would come back. I then asked where Casey is. Her expression turned solemn, as she looked to a picture of Casey on the wall. I realized that the Shredder's tyranny must end, so I asked April if she can set up a meeting to bring back Leo and Raph. Leo arrived first, being heavily scarred and blind, then Raph, who was missing his left eye, but wasn't the happiest when they met each other again with bad blood between them. Raph blamed Leo for abandoning you and leaving you to die. Before their scuffle became too violent, I stopped them. I told them that I had a plan to defeat Shredder, but Leo and Raph weren't sure since they have been beaten several times before. But I convinced them and set the plan in motion. Hun, with Baxter Stockman on a jar attached to him, in a wheelchair (they are in this state presumably due to one of Shredder's punishments) planned to join us.
Shredder wanted my head, with or without my body, and just after he said that, the Tunneler erupts from the ground and we jump into battle. I myself was wearing a Mega-shred-VEC exo-suit to challenge Shredder himself, made from a Karai legion bot. the Shredder was in a much bigger and strong suit, made from stockman, and we start to fight, but not before Karai ordered her legions to destroy us and Hun deciding to jump out of the Tunneler and pleads with the Shredder to rejoin him, but was crushed by the Shredder's giant foot.
While I battled shred-head, the others fought the Legions. Mikey bought me time and took down several mechs, but ends up surrounded by several mechs and was killed. Leo faced the beaten Karai but just as he's to deliver the finishing blow, a
Legion distracts him and Karai cuts him with her sword, killing him. Raph, in a fit of rage, attacked Karai and although he is able to land a couple strong blows, she killed him too, but not before he reached Leo. April then appeared and shot a missile at Karai, killing her in turn. With all my other brothers dead, I was nearly defeated as well, but was able to get close enough to the Tunneler. He held me in front of the Tunneler and was prepared to finish it, when I explained the whole attack was strategized for him to be at this precise position.
I then pushed a button and chains came flying out of the Tunneler, wrapping around my exo-suit and his. I slipped out of the exo-suit just as the Tunneler's energy drill appears, the chains pulling Shredder's Utrom body into it and tearing him to shreds. With everyone dead except April and I, I stated this place was a nightmare, but she told me that it was just that, was a nightmare but me and my other brothers gave them back their future started to fluctuate stronger this time, leaving April behind to rebuild her world and reminding him that there is always hope. Outside, the sun rises for a new day on New York City." Don finally finished, starting to cry. After about ten minutes, he continued on.
"All of that happened just because I disappeared, so to make sure that wouldn't happen, or at least make it so it isn't so bad, that was the reason I started this security system. But since I became blind, I couldn't finish it, so I sent it to Leatherhead so that he could finish it, and he was finally able to finish it now." Donatello said, still was crying, who then was comforted by his father.
"Tsuno o tamete ushi o korosu." Master Splinter said, referring back to his Japanese tongue to comfort his son in his time of need. 'Over the years, Donatello is the only one that still understands and is comforted by Japanese. Even Leonardo has given up on his Japanese years ago.'
"Sore wa watashi no musuko, daijōbudeshou. Watashi wa mirai wa anata o kowagatte inakereba naranai koto o shitte iruga, daremoga anata no tame ni mada koko ni aru." Master Splinter comforted.
"Watashi wa chichi o shitte iruga, sore wa mada watashi wa subete no minasan no shi ni naru to iu jijitsu o tasukenai. Watashi wa chōdo watashi ga anata-tachi ni iwanakatta riyūdearu watashi no kata-jō no futan ni taisho suru koto wa dekimasen. Watashi wa anata ga shinpai suru, matawa hogo o koeru koto o nozonde inai." Donatello replied, slowly stopping his crying, but still sniffling.
"Chichi wa, watashi wa hontōni kono hanashi ga hitsuyōdatta, arigatōgozaimashita. Shikashi, watashitachiha, koreha, puraibēto ni tamotsu koto ga dekimasu ka? Watashi wa mada futan watashi no kyōdai o shitakunai." Donatello hugged his father, bowed, then left, but not before Master Splinter said one more thing.
"Anata wa watashi no musuko, kangei shite imasu. Anata ga hitsuyō anata no jidai ni itsu demo watashi ni kuru koto ga dekiru chi tte iru.' Master Splinter smiled.
Meanwhile
"Hey, Bro, can you understand anything that they are saying?" Raph asked Leo, who was listening intently to what was being said.
"No, I stopped understanding Japanese a long time ago, now I wished I didn't." Leo reasoned. "Besides, I only started hearing what they were saying when they were just starting their Japanese convo and Donnie crying."
"Well it must have been really bad to make Donnie cry. Not many things can make him cry." Mikey said, starting to get worried for his immediate older brother.
"Shhhh! I'm trying to listen! You should know Donnie and Sensei only speak in Japanese when either they want privacy or Donnie needs comforting. So Be –! Move It, He's Coming!" Leo said, booking it for his room, with his brothers going their own way.
A minute later, Don came out, and started searching for Raph. He really needed to spar. After stumbling for a little bit, he was finally able to Raph, already in the dojo.
"Hey, Raph, I need a sparring partner, you up for it?" Donnie asked.
"You're on bro! Let's see where your skill is at, weapon or hand spar?" Raph inquired excitedly.
"Hand spar, been doing a lot of weapons training lately, besides, Master Splinter will be weapons training with us later, and tomorrow morning will be stealth training; something that I'm really good at." Don said. "So lets begin."
Well here is the fifteenth chapter of 'I Can't See', hoped you enjoyed it and I will start working on the sixteenth chapter and hopefully get it uploaded by the end of the month. If not, review saying that I need to hurry. I won't hold it against you. And if you see anything wrong with my telling of Same as it Never Was, then please tell me and I'll get to fixing it up.
P.S – it has been six months since Don has been blind just so you know if anybody out there got confused. Or maybe a little more than that, I think I forgot to include some days.
P.S – Tsuno o tamete ushi o korosu.
English equivalent: The remedy is often worse than the disease; Burn not your house to rid it of the mouse.
"Action taken to put something right is often more unpleasant or damaging than the original problem."
-This is a proverb I found online
P.S – Sore wa watashi no musuko, daijōbudeshou. Watashi wa mirai wa anata o kowagatte inakereba naranai koto o shitte iruga, daremoga anata no tame ni mada koko ni aru. = It'll be alright, my son. I know that future must have scared you, but everyone is still here for you.
P.S – Watashi wa chichi o shitte iruga, sore wa mada watashi wa subete no minasan no shi ni naru to iu jijitsu o tasukenai. Watashi wa chōdo watashi ga anata-tachi ni iwanakatta riyūdearu watashi no kata-jō no futan ni taisho suru koto wa dekimasen. Watashi wa anata ga shinpai suru, matawa hogo o koeru koto o nozonde inai. = I know that father, but it still doesn't help the fact that I will be the death of all you guys. I just can't deal with that burden on my shoulders, which is why I didn't tell you guys; I didn't want you to worry, or be over protective.
P.S – Chichi wa, watashi wa hontōni kono hanashi ga hitsuyōdatta, arigatōgozaimashita. Shikashi, watashitachiha, koreha, puraibēto ni tamotsu koto ga dekimasu ka? Watashi wa mada futan watashi no kyōdai o shitakunai. = Father, thank you, I really needed this talk. But can we keep this private? I still don't want to burden my brothers.
P.S – Anata wa watashi no musuko, kangei shite imasu. Anata ga hitsuyō anata no jidai ni itsu demo watashi ni kuru koto ga dekiru chi tte iru. = You're welcome, my son. You know you can come to me anytime in your times of need.
Until then, bye.
