Heartaches
Chapter 91
By KellyQ
Yusei laid in bed, resting his body from the stress that he accumulated over the cores of the last race. The climax of the race against Primo was intense. At one point Primo got close enough to ram his motorcycle against Yusei's leg, and Team 5Ds was almost disqualified when Jack got on his motorcycle and was about to enter the race. If it wasn't for Akiza stepping in front of Jack, telling him that Yusei needed to take care of some family issues, the whole team would have been disqualified.
After the race, Kaz, a young police officer and detective, said that would take on the responsibility to question Primo and Laster to reveal where Bruno was, and search for him so that Yusei could have some down time and rest after all what has happened in the past month.
At least the race was over. And the money was split between Team 5ds and Team Ragnarok.
Primo didn't believe that his father was part of the problem, and he wasn't going to get the money. Lester was also to be taken away from Primo due to poor living conditions and how intimate they were since Laster is 10 and Primo 17. That shocked everyone because they had all assumed that Primo and Lester were brothers by relations, not serious with each other.
Carly came to Misty's condo and found herself reflecting on what happened in the past month. Meeting the gorgeous model at the hospital (when Misty would come for a check up), to finding out quite a bit Misty. It wasn't long before Carly started to think of Misty as a friend, since Carly got the impression that Misty was a stalker at first. But now, after Misty taking Carly in because she couldn't pay her rent; Carly also started to wonder what got herself to change in a short amount of time? She started to look at herself. Carly knew that she wasn't special. No one paid any attention to her when she was growing up, except one friend but she moved. Their correspondence only lasted for a year because her only friend had a brain tumor. After that, Carly tried to make friends, but more often than not, most people found her annoying. Even Jack thought she was annoying. At least we talked it out and are friends, Carly thought. Now I can move on and find something better!
Carly straightened her clothes and knocked. The door opened and strips of light beamed around her. Carly expected the butler to be at the door, but she didn't expect Misty to greet her.
"M-Misty ...?"
"Welcome home, Carly," Misty greeted warmly, her arms outstretched. Carly hugged back, feeling safe in Misty's arms.
It didn't take long before the orphan kids adjusted to their new home with more room. Some of the kids liked they had their own room now, but some of the other kids that had shared a room together, like the twins, they didn't want to be separated from each other, and Leo insisted that Rally stayed with him and her sister. Martha also liked that she could still be close to the kids even though there wasn't much she could do for them since she's bedridden.
Crow and Brave hung out quite often and included Kiryu in their outings. Kiryu often asked about Yusei and was disappointed when Crow would say that Yusei was busy or resting.
