Chapter 92

By Kellyq

Dragan decided to have Jack meet his father. Dragan's father was going to come home since he had been in the hospital due to a car accident during Dragan's race against Jack two months ago. The accident left Dragan's father in a coma, and his right leg twisted and unusable when he was going to wake up. Other than that, Dragan's father was going to make a complete recovery. The news eased Dragan's heart - with the support from his boyfriend Harald, and good friend Brave.

During the race, on Jack and Dragan's second lap around the track, an announcement was made about a car accident two blocks away. Initially, Dragan didn't understand why Jack didn't respond to the announcement. The impression Dragan got was that Jack didn't care about his father being in the hospital in a coma.

It wasn't until, after their rematch, they both learned the truth about what happed, and Jack finding out that Dragan had a father at all. Godwin, former director of the police department, and the one who decided to take Jack in, prior to Jack's skills in motorcycle racing, didn't say anything at the time. Godwin knew that interrupting Jack, when he was so focused wasn't a good idea, and Godwin was getting a lot of money when Jack raced. But now that things were done, and a mutual understanding between the two had been breached, Jack agreed to acompany Dragan to meet Dragan's father.

Dragan's father was dressed and sat in a wheelchair when the door opened and Dragon and Jack walked in. Dragan was the first to hug his father before he moved out of the way to introduce Jack.

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Atlus," Dragan's father said, shaking Jack's hand.

Jack nodded his head. "Likewise. And I'm sorry that I wasn't informed ..." Dragan and his father listened since Jack always thought that Dragan was a coward when that wasn't the case. "And your son is a worthy opponent."

"I'm sure, since I watched your rematch, it was evident that you two were putting some effort into the race, and I'm proud of both of you."

The rest of the time between the three of them was pleasant. From the car ride home to spend time at Harald's two story mansion. Harald himself seemed to have changed his behavior toward Jack since the race. Subastion, Harld's butler, gave both Jack and Dragan's father a tour the large house.

"I do need to get going," Jack spoke up, looking at his cell phone to see that it was close to evening.

"I'll drive you home, Mr. Atlus," Subastion offered.

Jack shrugged it off and followed the butler to the small limo. When Jack got to his condo, to Jack's surprise, Yusei wasn't there. Jack expected to see Yusei still sleeping. Jack pulled out his cell phone text Yusei. Jack waited for a few moments that said that he was at the racetrack. Jack frowned and texted back that he was going join Yusei at the racetrack. Jack waited for a good thirty minutes for Yusei to reply and when Yusei did reply, it was clear that Yusei didn't want to talk, or want any company.

"Something's not right," Jack muttered to himself, putting his phone to his ear, hoping that Yusei would pick up, but it went straight to voice mail. Jack grunted and put his phone away. He grabbed his key to his motorcycle and headed to the racetrack. When Jack got there, to his surprise, Yusei wasn't there. "What's going on?" Jack pulled out his phone and was about to call Yusei again when he suddenly got a text from Kaz. Jack nearly dropped the phone and called the young officer.

"What's really going on?" Jack wanted to know.

"We found Bruno ..."

Jack took a deep breath and exhaled. "I'll be at the police station as soon as I can ... and make sure that Yusei gets the support he needs until I get there!"

Jack put his cell phone away and made his way to the police station. When Jack got there, he was expecting to see Bruno's corpse, and Yusei on the computer, but he got was something diffrent. Yusei and Bruno were in the interrogation room having what looked like an intence converation with Kaz sitting next to Yusei. Jack knocked on the door and walked in after he opened and closed it. It was evident to Jack that things are probably going to be rough after the meeting.
