This is the 11th chapter of my story "Career, Love, and Family" so I hope you enjoy it while it lasts everybody. I don't really have much to say so... here goes. Oh yeah, and my dear classmate who happened to read this and felt a bit cliff-ish due to me not even finishing this yet. Sorry, bro. xD Anyways, here is the next update.
Arriving at the silverette's residence, the pure blood got out of his side of the car to walk to the other and open the door for the silverette. Zero had his head hung low for a few moments, un-moving, and Kaname thought that maybe he'd have to carry the silverette out. He hesitated but was about to do just that when the silverette shakily got out with his hands trembling to get something to hold on to.
Without saying anything, Kaname grabbed Zero's arm and placed it over his shoulder to give the silverette some support. The brunette knew that he should have just carried the still sobbing silverette but he chose not to. After locking his car, Kaname slowly led the silverette back inside his apartment. Crashing himself on his couch in the living room, the silverette buried his face in his hands, his face tear strained and his eyes very red.
"Zero.." Kaname handed the silverette a glass of water. With slightly shaking hands, the male took the glass and drank some of its contents before placing it down on the coffee table in front of him.
The sivlerette was silent for a few more moments before he barely choked on his own words. "Thank you for being there, Kaname." Zero said softly, wiping at his nose and sniffling a bit. His eyes were red from crying and his nose was red from it all.
"No worries." The brunette said, sitting next to the silverette and rubbing small comforting circles on his back.
The two of them didn't speak to each other for a few minutes. Kaname was focused on comforting Zero by patting at his back and somehow getting the silverette to lay his head on the his chest. Zero only chose to embrace the warmth offered to him. Thanks to Kaname, he had calmed down faster than he had used to. The silverette had dealt with his own miserable sorrow alone for so long before Akatsuki and Kaname had come into his life.
"Kaname?" Zero barely got out, looking up to have his eyes meet with the brunette's.
"Hmm?" The said brunette, looked down at the silverette leaning on his chest. His complexion seemed better and his eyes were only a faint color of pink now.
"Are you a pure blood vampire?"
. . . EH?
"Where did you hear that from, Zero?" The sudden question from the silverette had Kaname sweat drop. Did Zero find out on his own? Did he just ask out of the blue? Which one was it? All these questions were running through a scan process in Kaname's head, trying to think which one is more possible.
"One of the models from the 'Corporation of Beauties' got acquainted with me when I walked out. She told me and I was all ears to her." Zero explained nonchalantly. Kaname was a bit confused as to why the silverette wasn't acting even the slightest bit afraid or suspicious about this and that but then again, isn't that supposed to be a good thing?
"Did you believe what she said?" The pure blood needed to make sure.
"Well, her saying that the 'Corporation of Beauties' was actually a place load of vampires and her proving to me that she was a vampire herself... it was a lot to take in."
"You seem to be taking this very well though." The brunette noticed and then, Zero pulled away from Kaname's chest to look at the pure blood fully. Lavender eyes stared into dark wine colored ones intently. Reaching a hand up, the silverette placed it on the other's cheek.
"Well, I'm not scared of the person who's the reason for all these burning emotions inside me." Zero gave a small smile. By burning, he meant it in a sort of way that was related to the word 'love'.
"You mean, Akatsuki?" Kaname looked down before he felt a small flick to his fore head.
"No. It's you, you idiot." Zero laughed a bit at the dumbfounded expression Kaname was giving him. The pure blood's eyes were a bit wide but Zero could tell that they were wide in surprise at what he said. Any minute now the pure blood would give him a goofy smile and say something mushy like 'I love you', not that Zero was complaining anyway.
Kaname couldn't say anything at the moment. He was overwhelmingly filled with joy and love that he just pulled the silverette back into his chest and squeezed him tight, his eye brows knitted together not in anger or sadness, but in pure and utter bliss, and happiness. Oh well, there goes Zero's prediction about the pure blood saying something mushy and all that.
Both males held each other tightly, enjoying one another's presence. It was like the incident a while ago didn't happen at all. Zero was thankful for that. He didn't want to continue making the pure blood worry so of course he went and took initiative to find something else to talk about. However, his 'affections' for the pure blood was not only just a topic, it was also the truth. Zero felt safe in the pure blood's arms not because he was a high ranking vampire but because he just felt secure and that he won't get hurt at all. It relaxed him to no end. Even though they just met... Zero felt right when he's with Kaname, righter than he was with his past lover.
"Hey Kaname?" Zero called again after having that small lovey-dovey moment with the pure blood.
"Hmm?" Kaname didn't want that moment to end but of course he had to be considerate about Zero's feelings. He loosened his hold on the silverette so that he could sit back beside him.
"Are you hungry?" It was about time for dinner already and not to mention that it's still Kaname's second night in his apartment.
"No thank you, I'm perfectly fine-" As if on cue, Kaname's stomach growled, defying his statement. At this, Zero burst out laughing, small tears brimming at the corners of his eyes.
"This was just like last night." Zero said once he caught his breath from the fit of laughter. Kaname just smiled before he planted a small and chaste kiss on the silverette's cheek, catching Zero off guard.
"I'll be right here while you prepare." The brunette chuckled as he saw the red hue appearing on the silverette's cheeks.
"You sly fox." Zero huffed, going into the kitchen.
