Hello! This is the 13th chapter of "Career, Love, and Family"! Sorry for the long wait!
Thanks for beta-ing this chapter a bit, Mi-chan's Soundless Voice! It really helped and sorry if you were busy!
They had finally purchased their tickets to the movie they were watching. It had took them a while waiting in line since Kaname had been mobbed by several of his fans near the ticket counter. Because of that, Zero had to just take the initiative and do it himself before he went in the crowd, grabbed Kaname by the back collar, and dragged him into the cinema doors that were guarded by two people of the management who kept the fans at bay, a mere action of respect to the Kuran's privacy after all.
They both had found their seats and they were lucky enough to have stayed in a rather isolated part of the cinema, a part that didn't have too much people sitting in it. With this, the pure blood did not hesitate to grab onto the silverette's hand once they were seated. The movie hadn't started yet so they still had a few minutes to wait before the cinema would darken and the pre-movie advertisements would start. Kaname took this opportunity to steal glances from the silverette, taking in what he wore which he was rather proud of. His outfit really did fit him. Well, to be honest, the pure blood thought that any outfit would fit the silverette regardless of how it might portray him.
The pure blood took in how the silverette's face looked so relaxed as if the world could mean less to him at this moment. Zero's eyes showed excitement and happiness and the pure blood could guess that this was because they were going to watch this movie Zero had waited to watch before it started airing. Kaname was happy to be able to make the silverette feel happy too so he could consider this moment as one he could be proud of and one he will always remember even if he's the only one who actually thinks of it as important.
When the lights finally dimmed, the pure blood could feel how Zero tightened his grip on his hand a bit and well, it wasn't later until their fingers were laced against each others. "It's starting!" Zero whispered, not turning his face from the screen. Kaname noticed the twinkle in his eyes and he couldn't help but just smile a smile he knew had went unnoticed by the silverette. He wouldn't spoil the moment though. Here he was, sitting next to the person he really loves and is on a date at the cinemas. Well, how lucky could he get? He wished for the silverette to think the same way he was though.
Throughout the movie, their hands were laced and they didn't speak to each other at all. They were just both so comfortable with each other's presence that the need for words was dissipated. It was only at the moment they emerged from the cinema did they start to have some small talk before engaging in a real conversation.
"How did you find the movie?" Kaname asked the silverette who was smiling from ear to ear once they were out. His eyes sparkled and the silverette looked at Kaname before showing him one of the sincerest smiles Kaname had ever seen. "I'm guessing that you enjoyed it?" Kaname asked again, responding with a smile of his own to the silverette.
"I didn't just enjoy it. I loved it and all the more since you were there with me." Zero admitted truthfully, feeling heat rise up his cheeks at what he said. The smile that Kaname gave him had his insides melting in an instant and well, at least Zero was good at masking his emotions from time to time. Who knows when he might suddenly have a nosebleed from being dazzled and mesmerized too much by certain things or certain people.
"I'm glad." Kaname had the intention of just bringing him into a hug or maybe even kiss him right then and there but then he noted that they were still in public and that he might be mobbed by fans again once they were in the open. "Do you want to eat something?" Zero nodded at this and Kaname smiled again before dragging the silverette off to a nearby restaurant Kaname had also frequented. "Order anything you like."
"Haha. It must be convenient to be a regular at a lot of places but I've been meaning to ask," Zero hesitated before continuing after he ordered a warm beverage,"before I found you there on that bench that night... were you serious that you didn't have a place to live in? I mean, considering that you are a famous actor and all, you even have a car that makes everyone envious of you, how can you not have a house?"
"How much did you even hear back then?" Kaname felt slightly embarrassed that the memory was brought up but then again he was prepared to answer anything the silverette had to throw at him. After all, this relationship requires no secrets.
"Pretty much everything since you plopped yourself on the bench." Zero said, looking down at his clasped hands, rubbing at his fingers in slightly uneasiness.
"Of course I have places to stay at. As an actor, a famous one at that, I must devise back up plans to ensure my own privacy at all costs. My 'transferring and living with my lover' problem was brought up when the paparazzi wouldn't let me off the hook. Frankly, they are still on their toes to get even the smallest issue outta me but I'm surprised that nothing has come out about you and I." Zero understood this explanation. Kaname really was a good actor, he fooled everyone into thinking that he didn't have a place to stay in despite his ongoing problem. There was the separation of his ex, his fame, his private life, whatever and all of this made sense to Zero somehow.
"Maybe the paparazzi decided to finally cut you some slack for once."
"That could be possible." Kaname chuckled, looking at the drink that was placed in front of Zero by the waiter. "However, if any really do decide to get into my private life again, I'll be sure to have them quit their jobs in a blink of an eye." There was a small hint of malice in his tone and this made Zero make a mental note to not get onto the pure blood's bad side.
"M-hm." Zero hummed, taking a sip of his beverage.
"After this, I'll let you see one of my 'secret hideouts' that no one will ever find out about. I'm taking a break from acting like a homeless bastard and besides, it's my time to accommodate you, my dear." Kaname's eyes glinted a bit before he smiled.
"E-eh?"
That's the end! Sorry for the long wait everyone and please R&R to get the next chapter to this! Thank you!
