Next chapter! I'm so sorry for taking forever, but I've been really busy since I have about 3 blogs to run and college courses take a bit out of me. Anyways, this is a filler chapter in a sense, but I dunno. HOPEFULLY, I'll be able to get back in the game soon, but we'll see.

I don't own Pokémon.

Love Happens Suddenly

Chapter 15

Cupid had found himself staring at the constantly changing image of the scenery outside as the train made its course back to his hometown.

Ashley had situated himself near the Buneary and was currently engrossed in a book he'd brought along.

This left the rabbit with only his thoughts, and that's all he had been occupying himself with for the past hour or so. When they arrived back to Dorith Town, he'd have to go back to his usual way of life which consisted of completing the task Bruno had given him among other things.

He wasn't too thrilled about the idea of seeing the Pokémon once more, but they were friends. At least, Cupid believed they were.

He sighed but was able to muster the force to stop reflecting on the situation with the Zoroark.

The bunny yawned as he stretched his small limbs in an attempt to keep himself from dozing off.

"Frank," called his brother as the two felt the train halt.

"I know," responded the brown furred animal as he turned to look at the Riolu and everyone else that was surrounding him.

Minutes later, the Buneary found himself exiting the compartment and stepping onto the train station that was native to his hometown.

Ashley followed after, observing the inhabitants and buildings with a critical eye.

"FRANK! Hey Frank! Over here!" practically screamed a familiar voice otherwise known as the Pikachu named Teddy.

A look of surprise formed on the rabbit's face at the fact that she, of all people, was here!

The fighting-type only broke his gaze from the architecture of Dorith Town to glance at his brother in curiosity.

Cupid gave a nervous grin to the blue and black creature before approaching the rodent, noticing the large figure of a Zangoose beside her with an unreadable expression.

"Hi there Teddy," greeted the Buneary with a nervous smile.

"Hello! It's so good to see your face," warmly replied the female mouse pokémon. Finally, after a few moments, she noticed the Riolu beside her friend. "Oh who's this?"

The doglike pokémon looked up and studied the Pikachu briefly before his lips spread into a mischievous grin, "Oh well...I'm...Frank's...what's the word?...Uhhh...boyfriend...Umm."

The friendly expression on Teddy's face vanished when he said the word as it was replaced with a look of slight disappointment.

"O-oh really?"

The Buneary felt his face redden at the statement.

"N-no!" he blurted out, desperately shaking his head. "He's not!"

"No, it's fine! It's okay if you are!"

A couple of chuckles escaped from Ashley as he placed his paw near his mouth, "I'm just messing with you two. I'm actually Frank's half-brother, Ashley. He offered to bring me to Dorith Town since I have always been fascinated about it."

"Oh," replied the yellow creature who then felt silent before asking. "Wait, you've never been to Dorith Town?"

"Nope. I'm from July Town."

"I see. I'm actually not from Dorith or July," confessed the female. "I'm here...visiting in a sense."

"Really?" asked the brother of Cupid with a grin. "How is it so far?"

"It's a great place. I've met many friendly people here."

Ashley nodded but didn't bother to give a proper response.

Cupid only looked down at the floor as he fiddled with his luggage nervously. However, the Zangoose just stood and watched the three shorter pokémon with disinterest.

"Ummm...Let's get out of here," stated the Pikachu as she scratched the back of her head and gave a sheepish grin.

"Y-yeah!" agreed the rabbit pokémon.

The Riolu rolled his eyes but nodded at the two, "Yeah. I'm pretty sure there's more to this town than the train station."

"There sure is!" remarked the rodent with an incredibly cheerful tone.

"I would hope so."

"Let's go then! I'm sure your brother has a lot to show you."

The fighting-type gave a vertical shake of the head once more and paced off, leaving the three other pokémon.

The Zangoose soon walked after the doglike creature and left Teddy and Cupid by themselves.

"So how was your trip?"

The brown mammal looked at her and shrugged, "It was okay..."

"And how did it go with your dad?"

"Umm, nothing happened. I didn't really see him."

"What do you mean? I thought you went over to reunite with him?"

"Nah, I mostly avoided him."

The Pikachu placed her head into her paws, "Then why did you even go Frank?"

"My mom asked me too."

"But...but Frank, did you even bother to try and patch things up?"

"Nope."

She gazed up at him with a frown, "Frank..."

"What? Did I do something wrong?"

"Well...yes. Your father asked you to come over to July Town, because he missed you. And all you did was just avoid him...That's not very nice," explained the rodent.

Cupid sighed and nodded, "I guess it was a bit...mean, but...still, he didn't try to contact me all these years...and…"

"Frank," Firmly stated Teddy.

The normal-type closed his mouth and stared at her.

"It's okay to be mad, but he's your father..."

"Hmm." was his only response.

The mouse pokémon opened her mouth and was about to say something when Ashley called out to them.

"Come on guys! A Slowpoke is faster than both of you!"

Teddy rolled her eyes at the comment but didn't move an inch.

Instead, she gazed at Cupid once more and said, "Listen, I might not know you well, but please, do me this favor. Call your dad, and try to work things out. He might have messed up, but if he's trying to be there for you, don't push him away."

The Buneary frowned at her request. It was…something he wasn't sure he could accomplish.

"I...I guess I could try," he replied in an unsure voice. "But I can't make promises."

She smiled, "That's good enough for me."

The sun was setting when Cupid and Ashley arrived to the small house the rabbit called home.

The Buneary was exhausted from being with Teddy all day, and by now. he was feeling a bit homesick.

He opened the door and entered the house, freezing once he spotted his mother with her arms stretched out and a large smile on her face, "Frank! Welcome home, honey!"

"Oh...Hi Mom," greeted the rabbit with an emotionless voice, waving awkwardly.

"Yo Frank, is thi-oh, um hi there," stated the doglike pokémon as he stared at the Lopunny.

The cheerful look morphed into one of confusion as she took a step back, "O-oh, who's this?"

"This is um, Ashley. I met him over in July Town. I…was hoping he could stay with us for a bit...Mom."

"Oh...Sure thing! I think we have an extra room..."

"Do we?" asked the bunny with a cheerful face.

"Yeah."

"That's great to hear, right Ash?"

"Ash?" replied a confused Riolu before realizing what had been said. "Oh, Uhh...yes! That's GREAT to hear. Thank you very much ma'am. I'm so sorry to inconvenience you though."

"It's okay, no harm done," remarked Cupid's mother. "I hope you enjoy your stay here, and it's also a pleasure to meet you."

"Likewise," was the blue pokémon's response.

Cupid, deciding to finally speak as he opened his mouth, "Well. I'm going to my room to go take a nap. I'll see you later."

He began to walk off when his mother called after him, "Hold up sweetie! Show Ashley his room first."

He groaned internally at his misfortune but agreed, "Okay, Mom. Come on Ashley."

The Buneary began to ascend up the stairs with his brother behind him; Ashley staring around the decorative household with curiosity.

They continued for a minute or two longer when Cupid stopped in front of a door. He turned to face the Riolu, "Here you go. This is the spare room."

"Cool. Thank you so much," gratefully stated his brother.

"Hmm."

The black and blue creature stopped in his tracks as he tried to add something to his earlier comment.

"Oh I know!" he began. "Why don't you ask that Teddy chick out?"

The brown mammal tensed at the question. Where did he get that from?!

"W-what?" he replied, trying to play dumb. "I have no idea what you're even talking about."

"Pffft, don't do that, dude. I can see right through you. It's pretty obvious you like her, and that she likes you," countered the Riolu. "You two are literally obvious."

The bunny felt his face redden once more, and for once, he was thankful for the large amount of fur that covered his body.

The idea of Teddy liking him was nothing more than a ridiculous conclusion on Ashley's part. There was a slim chance of her ever feeling that way about Cupid.

"Okay, I get it. You have a lot to think about. You do that, and I will see you tomorrow. Later Frank," stated the Riolu as he entered his room and shut the door behind him, leaving the shocked Buneary by himself.

A few seconds later, the brown creature regained his senses and began to walk back to his room. However, his mind only focused on one thing.

Was it really possible for Teddy to like him that way?

He didn't think so, but then again, what did he know?

A/N: Okay, and I am thinking we're about halfway through the story now. Next chapter I'll probably wrap up that thing with Bruno, and I'll return to the couples that everyone requested beforehand. After that, it won't be long until the story ends unless my brain decides to interject something else.

That's about it.

Read, Review, or ignore! Later guys!
