A second Chance

Chapter 8 - A Problem

By a warm breeze pushing through the open window, making the navy blue light weight curtains flow like a wave - Andy stirred slowly broke from her slumber and from what seemed far, far away, she could hear the sound of waves crashing against the nearest rocks. For every wave, she got closer and closer to fully open her eyes, and remember where she actually was.

When she stretched her whole body, she felt the lack of the soft sheets against her skin, that sometime during the night had gotten pushed further and further down because of the heat. As she turned her head towards her most favorite person, she noticed Sam was still sleeping. The sheets was barely covering his butt, and he was laying face down on top of one arm and the other one dangling down over the edge of the bed. And with his black mane of hair, tousled and pointing up like a real bed head hair, (she assumed - due to their rather bendy and all over late night activities last night) Sam Swarek was quite a sight. Come to feel of it, it made her stomach bubble up.

She moved closer, as careful as possible, so she wouldn`t wake him.

Yet.

She let one hand travel up and down his back, barely touching with her fingertips, as she leaned even closer and whispered against his ear " I love you".

She felt him move his arm from underneath his head and drape it over her waist. As she felt him tug her closer, he got on his side and brushed his lips against hers. "Love you too sweetheart. Sleep well?"

"The best. Thank you for last night. It was... Like everything I never dared to imagine, and then some. You really outdid yourself there Swarek", Andy said as she let her hand make smooth circles on his back.

"I did didn`t I. Can`t wait to make a Swarek out of you as well, McNally".

"I still can`t believe it Sam", Andy said dreamingly as she twirled her newest bling around her finger.

"Sam, do you even know where we are right now?"

"Yes! I mean, I think I do. Just... hold on...",Sam said back as he led them up a hill. He knew it had to be someplace close. He had read about the place and he had it all planned out. It had to be here.

Once they finally walked the last meter before reaching the top, he knew they had come to the right spot.

"Ah, here it is. Look sweetheart", Sam said as he could clearly see an open ocean with nothing but blue sea for miles and miles ahead. And by the look at the sun, they would also get to witness the sunset.

"Oh my god! Sam! This is... so amazing!", she almost whispered, completely and utterly mesmerized by the beauty of it all. The dusky sky, the view and fact that they were all alone, and just in time to watch the sunset.

Sam wanted this to be the perfect setting. He had started planning it the minute they came to Santorini, and after some the help from a guide at the hotel, he knew this had to be the place. It was a promenade along the cliff edge in the southern area of Fira. And the only way to get up here was the hill they just had spent almost an hour climbing.

But, if she would react the way he thought and hoped she would - then it would be worth it.

Andy had guided them towards a couple of big rocks to sit on, and once seated down, she buried herself as close to him a possible.

"It will be any minute now Sam", Andy whispered as she nodded against the almost sunset.

"Ten"

He kissed her hair and felt somewhat nervous.

"Nine"

(I don't want to be married just to be married. I can't think of anything lonelier than spending the rest of my life with someone I can't talk to, or worse, someone I can't be silent with.)

"Eight", She turned and looked him straight in the eyes. "Love you".

"Seven", she said teasingly.

"Six. Love you too McNally".

God! I love this woman. What is there not to love about her? Every flaw, every perk, every spark in her eye, and every look she gives me make my heart jump all over and back. I can`t not have her in my life. I want her every day, I need her every day, I`ll love her every second.

"Five. It`s close sweetheart", Sam whispered against her ear as they watch the sun getting smaller and smaller.

(I`m so, so unbelievable lucky to have this guy by my side. I can never explain with words how much I truly love him.)

"Four". She let her fingertips feathery brush against his hand that was resting on her thigh.

"Three...", they said together. "Two... One".

"That`s beautiful. Thank you for taking me here Sam. I knew the romantic you was in there somewhere", she whispered teasingly against his lips before they met hers.

"You are beautiful. Thank you for giving me a second chance Andy... I know this hasn`t been an easy ride... these last couple of years, but I want you to know, I need you to know that we are in this for a lifetime. If you`ll have me". He didn`t know if she had an idea of where this was going.

She looked up, sporting a tear or two coming from her eyes. "Sam?"

"I love you Andy, with all I have. Marry me?", he asked with a hidden sob in his voice as he held out a open black velvet box, that showed a white gold diamond ring, that happened to be just her size from the look of it.

"Oh my god Sam! It`s gorgeous!"

"So, that a yes or...?"

"Yes, of course I`ll marry you Sam!", she said as she threw herself at him, covering him with kisses and all the love she could show him.

"I love you Swarek".

"Love you too McNally".

"I won`t be a McNally for that much longer", Andy said as Sam rolled off from her and onto his back.

"I know. Can`t wait to make an honest woman out of you sweetheart. So you have any thoughts of when this extravaganza should go down?"

She rolled on her side, head on his chest and one arm across his abdomen. " Well, I really don`t want to wait that long. I mean if that`s okay with you".

"McNally, I would marry you yesterday or today if I could. Whenever you want this to happen, I`m more than okay with it", he said reassuringly.

"Oh my god, what if we did?"

"Did what?"

"Got married today?"

"What you serious?", he asked a little shocked, but then again not.

"Never more. I mean it Sam. I mean, think about it. This place is so, so amazing, and we`re not really the kind of people to have a hundred guest right? I don`t want that. I don`t care about any of that".

"Andy..."

"All I care about is you, us. This could be something we do just the two of us. We`ll have a backyard barbeque later, at home. I just feel that this is the right thing for us. Don`t you?"

"You`re right. Imagine what people are going to say once we tell them we got married in Greece".

"I know. Traci and Sarah are going to flip!", she giggled.

"I love you Sam"

"Love you too. Come on. Let`s start this day".

"Alright coppers!", Frank Best said as he tried to get everybody`s attention.

"Before we start, there seem to be a little problem. Swarek, McNally, how was you vacation?"

"Good, great!", Sam answered with a smirk on his face that only Andy understood the meaning of. But for some reason, it seemed that Frank did too.

"Well, glad to see you survived the plane ride. Actually. Swarek, McNally, could you come up here for a minute?"

Andy felt her body temperature raise to whatever was beyond comfortable. Reluctantly she joined her husband up front next to Frank.

"So, there is this problem I have. I vividly remember you too being present at my wedding I`m a right?" he asked looking at the newlyweds.

"Yes , Frank. Great one too", Sam said, big smile plastered on his face. He knew where this was going. What he didn`t know, was how the hell he knew about it.

"McNally?"

"Yes, Frank", she answered, wanting to run out of the room. What the hell is he doing?

"So, you could imagine my disappointment when I realized my invitation to Greece got lost in the mail right?"

Andy saw Traci`s hand raise to cover her mouth. In one slow motion. And then the rest of the coppers mouth drop to whatever possible.

"Yeah, Sorry about that Frank!"

Frank pulled his biggest smile.

"Swarek, Swarek, he said looking at both of them. Congratulation! I`m very happy for you guys".

The room was filled with cheers, applause and hollers of congrats, and before Andy could react, she was jumped by her best friend. "I can`t believe you didn`t tell me you got married! I can`t believe you eloped!", Traci laughed.

"Sorry Trace, I promise we`ll have a party when things settle down... you now, when this honeymoon faze fades out a little. All though I don`t really think it will", she smirked with one raised eyebrow.

"Uhu, I bet! Please tell me about it! I`m dying to know. Hoe the hell did you end up getting married in Greece?"

"Hey Sam, you want to tell them how we ended up sharing a last name?",Andy asked Sam across the room.

His smile indicated that he did want to. "Well, before we left, I had planned on proposing to her. So I did, she said yes, obviously... and we decided the next morning that why not get married here? Amazing place, amazing girl, why wouldn`t you get married in a place like that?"

Andy giggled and couldn't hold back the smile that crept across her face. That`s why Traci discreetly leaned in to her ear and whispered something Andy did not expect.

"You pregnant or something?"

"What? No! I`m not", Andy whispered hard back. Although, when she saw the looks from Sam and Oliver, she knew they had picked up what they were whispering about.

"Okay, then when?", Traci eagerly asked her best friend.

When they both realized that had come out a tad louder than planned, they had already drawn the unwanted attention.

"When what?" Sam wanted to know.

Traci gave Andy an unknown look. "Uh...I just wa..."

That`s when Oliver Shaw decided to step up. "Nash here wants' to know when you`re going to impregnate your wife".

"Oh, ah... as soon as she`ll let me I guess. Right sweetheart?"
