Sorry it took so long, I've been having trouble figuring this chapter out. Finally, I think I did! I hope you all like it, and keep interested. It's only going to get more interesting from now on. I promise! I know some of you will this chapter, and probably me. But, if you keep with it, it will get better. I'm starting my new job on Thursday so I'm not sure how often I'll be able to write, but I will definitely try my hardest to write at least a little each day!
Oh and I have to say that I am EXTREMELY happy that Kate and Will had the baby yesterday! Can't wait to find out his name. :)
Oh and I know this is extremely short, but next chapter should be REALLY long. Especially with what I have planned. ;)
Sarah sat down on the couch after Toby, Karen, Linda, and Robert left. Feeling frustrated, she ran her hands through her hair. "How can this even be possible?" Sarah was talking more to herself than to anyone in the room, but that didn't stop Jareth from answering her.
"I believe you know how a woman gets pregnant, mortal or Fae."
She snapped her head up. "I know exactly how a woman gets pregnant Jareth! I meant, how is it possible that I'm already getting morning sickness when we just had sex the other night. It usually takes a few weeks before this happens."
Jareth placed his hand on her lap. "I told you that a Fae's pregnancy is different from a mortals."
Sarah had remembered Jareth saying that to her, but she didn't understand how it could be different. It was a child, wasn't it? Wouldn't the baby need to be developed fully before being born? Wouldn't that take time? Why wasn't she just asking Jareth instead of just thinking everything.
"It's possibly because you are nervous." Sarah looked at Jareth. "Remember, I can hear your thoughts. I can read your mind." He turned and smiled at Sandra who was thinking of some guy she had met a week ago at the grocery store. "Yes, Sandra, you should bring him over one day while I'm here. I might be able to help you out."
Sandra turned bright red and immediately left the room. She definitely didn't want Jareth to read her mind. It felt like an intrusion of privacy. Even if he didn't mean to do it. "You shouldn't do that."
"Shouldn't do what dear?"
Sarah rolled her eyes. "You shouldn't read her mind like that. It's kind of an invasion of privacy. And Sandra definitely likes privacy."
He sighed and grabbed Sarah's hand. "I'm sorry. I'll try not to read her mind anymore." Standing up, Jareth pulled Sarah with him in the direction Sandra had went. When Jareth found her sitting on her floor, reading a magazine, he let go of Sarah's hand and walked over to her and sat beside her. Sandra dropped her magazine onto the floor and looked at Jareth. "Sandra, I am sorry. I should not have read your mind without your permission. It won't happen again. I can assure you of that."
Sandra looked at Jareth and then at Sarah. "I didn't even know you could do anything like that." She paused and bit her lip. "I'm sorry, but I think that you should probably leave." Jareth stood up without an arguement and started walking out of her bedroom. Sarah hugged him and gave him a kiss saying she would see him later. "No, Sarah, you should leave with him."
Sarah was shocked. Why did Sandra want her to leave? She hadn't done anything to be kicked out. "Why?"
Sandra stood up and walked over to Sarah grabbing both of her hands in hers. "Because, I need to be alone." Sandra sighed. She didn't want to offend anyone, and she definitely didn't want to Jareth to get upset at throwing them out. "Now don't think I actually want you to leave this realm, I want you to stay so I can still see you. But for now, I need some time to myself. Can you understand that?"
Sarah nodded and walked out of the door without so much as a goodbye.
"Darling the moment we get home, we'll have the doctor look you over and make sure you are actually pregnant."
Jareth and Sarah had been walking down the street. She had no idea where she was going, but she didn't exactly want to go back to the Underground yet. Sarah had wanted to stay here for the full week that that Jareth had promised her. She had stopped walking and turned toward Jareth. "Jareth, I really want to stay. I don't want to leave. At least not with all of this going on. I want to fix everything. With Sandra, my father, my mother, and even Toby. He still doesn't understand where I've been or what's going on with me."
He gave her a stern look. "Sarah, I have been very accomodating as of late. I must insist that we head back to the Underground."
"You can insist all you want. I'm not leaving. Not yet."
Sarah continued walking. She figured that her father and Karen would allow her to stay in her old room for a while. The thought had crossed her mind to go to her old apartment, but the fact that she had been gone for so long meant that they had probably taken all of her stuff out of the apartment and rented it someone else. She didn't feel like going to her old job. Eric would just hound her for answers. There was no way she was ready for all of that. Maybe she could come back in a couple of months or something and see everyone again. But for now, she was going to stay the whole week that Jareth had promised.
Jareth popped in front of Sarah. He grabbed her arm and narrowed his eyes. "I insisted that we head back home, you denied my request. I am still your king. You will listen to me."
Pulling her arm out of his grip, Sarah responded, "I don't think you understand what the word marriage means. It means equality. I get a say also! Not just you."
Jareth gave a hearty laugh. "I know very well what marriage means darling. In the Underground, you still have to listen to your husband." He grabbed her arm again. "With that being said, we are going home. Now."
Before she could say a word to stop him, they were back at the castle and she let out a frustrated scream. "Send me back!"
Jareth walked over to his throne and sat down. "No."
Sarah approached him and threw her hands down in frustration. "Send me back right this minute Jareth!"
"I believe I said no."
"I will find a way back if you don't send me there!"
Jareth smiled. "You still have that fiery spirit I remember. So you want to go back hmm?" Sarah nodded. "Very well, you'll go back."
Just as fast as she was back in the Underground, she found herself in the tower where they usually held prisoners. "Jareth! This is no way to treat your wife and mother of your child!" She screamed into the air knowing he could hear her.
Sarah heard the laugh and ran to the door where she saw Jareth standing. "At the present time, this is the way to treat you until you realize who the boss is." He turned around and walked away.
"Jareth!"
