I'm sorry this isn't exactly really long, but it was all I could do for the moment! I'm about to start a full time job, so the updates might come in a little slower, although, I'm not quite sure about that. Who knows, I might meet someone at work who gives me inspiration! Anyways, I hope you like this chapter. :) Don't worry, next chapter will be more exciting!

Valentina had been crying all day, and Sarah was getting tired. She may have been recovered from giving birth, but she was still quite exhausted. Jareth still hadn't come back from visiting his mother, and she was getting nervous. What if Esmerald didn't forgive Artemis? Sarah had only met him the one time, but he seemed like such a sweet guy. Sarah hoped with all of her heart that Esmerald would forgive him.

Jareth was sitting talking to his father. His mother had refused to see him. In fact, she had refused to see King Abott. "Father, I must speak with mother."

King Abott shook his head as he grabbed his tea off of the table. "I've already told you, she will see no one. I am not even allowed to sleep in my room tonight." He took a drink of his tea. "I'm lucky she even allowed me to sleep here tonight." Jareth gave him a confused look. "Your mother was about to put a spell on the castle so that I could not enter."

"This has to stop! She must know that Darin had it coming to him."

King Abott put his tea down and nodded. "That she does, but it still does not take the ache out of her heart." King Abott stood up and walked over to Jareth patting him on the shoulder. "When you have more children, you will understand." Then he walked out of the castle.

What was Jareth going to do now? He had to make his mother see that this was the only way for things to work out. Darin had to be stopped and that is all there was to it. If he hadn't been killed, he most likely would have been put in the dungeon. The only problem with him being in the dungeon, was that he wouldn't be in there long. Darin had a lot of friends who just so happened to be guards at gate of the dungeon. They would most certainly help him escape.

"I know what you are thinking son." Jareth was startled out of his thinking when he heard his mother behind him. "You think I am horrible for not wanting to forgive Artemis." The only thing Jareth could do was stare at his mother. "You will understand when your daughter is older."

"We all know that Darin was your favorite. No need to hide that fact."

Esmerald sat down by her son. "How dare you believe that Darin was my favorite! I have no favorites. You all are equally loved by me. Whether you believe that or not is your choice. All of my children are my favorite." Esmerald was unsure what she did that made Jareth think that Darin was her favorite. It was never her intention to make her kids feel like she loved one more than the other. "Once you have more children, you will see what I mean. When you lose one child, it haunts you. Your child is never supposed to die before you. Especially us as Fae! We live forever. Unless we get killed."

Jareth let his head fall in shame. He should have known that she would be upset. He shouldn't have let himself think that his mother cared more for one of her kids than she did the others. "Her name is Valentina."

"Hmm?"

"My daughter. Her name is Valentina. It was Sarah's idea, and I love it. It means brave." Standing up, he walked over to his mother and hugged her. "You must understand what Darin did was wrong. He stole Artemis' betrothed, and then tried to steal mine." Jareth saw the tears well up in his mothers eyes. "If he had been thrown in the dungeon, we all know he would have been released. He has many friends in the kingdom, and they would have helped him. I'm not entirely sure he did all of this on his own."

Esmerald started to cry more as she collapsed into Jareth's arms on the floor. "I know! But you can't blame me for loving my son and hoping that he could change. Now can you?"

"No, I can't. But you can't be mad at Artemis for protecting the family from being killed by your son either. He saved us mother, and you musn't forget that."

Truth be told, Esmerald had loved that Artemis stood up for them and protected them. Even though she was certain that Darin wouldn't have succeeded with killing them all. She was pretty sure that King Abott or Jareth would have contained him, but she couldn't fault Artemis for helping them. "I don't forget that."

"Are you going to send him to his death?"

The idea of sending Artemis to his death was appealing to Esmerald, but then she would have lost two family members in less than a day. "No. I shall not send him to his death. I won't even have him thrown into court. He defended us, and that's all that matters."

Jareth kissed his mother on the cheek and teleported back home.

"Just what do you think you are doing?" Jareth boomed the moment he returned home and found Sarah holding Valentina in her arms while materializing.

Sarah jumped at the sound of his voice. Sarah honestly thought that he would be gone a lot longer than he was. Jareth most certainly was not going to like her exlaination, but at this point she didn't care. It was his fault in a way. "I'm trying to teleport thank you very much."

"I told you I would teach you when I thought you were ready." He walked over to his throne and sat down. "You are not ready by any means at the moment. The fact that you tried to do this by yourself shows you are not ready."

Jareth held his arms out and instantly Valentina was in his arms. "Don't you dare tell me I'm not ready! I am, and the only reason you won't teach me is because you don't want me to be able to back home! You want to keep me here as a prisoner instead of your Queen! Do you know how unfair that is Jareth?" Sarah wasn't really upset that Jareth had summoned Valentina to him, mostly because she wanted him to spend time with her, but he could have been nicer about it. When Jareth didn't respond, she stood up. "That's it, isn't it? You want to keep me here as a prisoner? You don't really love me! You just want me to stay here as some sort of pet. You just wanted a child. You got one, and now you want nothing to do with me. Am I getting close?"

All of a sudden, Valentina disappeared and Jareth was in front of Sarah with a scowl on his face. "How dare you speak to me that way! You do realize what I could do to you, correct?" Sarah nodded. But now that Sarah was Fae, she could actually fight back, and Jareth should have known that too. "First, you are not ready. You just gave birth and you are still recovering." Sarah shook her head in response. "You are. You are still tired." Sarah rolled her eyes. She knew he was right. "Second, I do love you. More than anything in my life. With the exception of Valentina. Third, you are my pet." Jareth could see Sarah getting upset. "Not in the way you are thinking. You are my pet as in the sense of my lady, my love, it's a pet name of sorts. I've called you pet before. And fourth, I want everything to do with you. If I didn't, I would not have went through everything I went through to get you."

Sarah let her shoulders droop. Why was she always trying to push Jareth away? Did she just think she wasn't meant to be happy or was it something deeper? Was it the fact that her own parents marriage failed so she automatically assumed that hers would too? "I'm sorry." Jareth wrapped her up in a hug. "I just want to go get Lancelot for Valentina. And I want my Karen, Toby, and my father to meet her as well." She looked up into his eyes. "Is that so wrong?"

"No Precious, it is not." He could hear all of her thoughts that she was thinking and he was actually starting to feel bad. "How about in a few days, we will begin training you on how to use your magic?"

Light sparkled in Sarah's eyes. "Even teleporting?"

"Of course."

"Yes! Yes please. That's exactly what I want!" Sarah jumped into Jareths arms and hugged him extremely tight. "You don't know what this means to me."

Jareth smiled and rubbed Sarah's back. "But for now, what do you say we go relax with our daughter." Sarah really wanted to go to the Aboveground and get Lancelot for Valentina. She had given Lancelot to Toby when he was a baby, but Lancelot was definitely hers and she was sure that Toby would love to give Lancelot to Valentina. "Darling, we will go back to your fathers house soon, but for now, let's just go relax with Valentina." Sarah smiled and nodded as Jareth and her walked towards their bedroom.

"Jareth, we have a problem." They turned around to find Artemis standing there.

"What is it Artemis?"

Artemis walked over to Jareth who had been walking to where Artemis was. "She's dead."

Jareth stopped short, and grew angry. Who could be dead now? There had been no women in the dungeons, so of course they wouldn't have killed any women. "She who?"
