My Word: I never forgot you guys. Those of you crazy enough to like my writing. I know I'm not the best out there, but I do this for me, if people happen to like it, then thats awesome. So, I came back to this, after dealing with some shit of my own. Not gonna get into that. But as it is, I found I had two chapters here, I'll get to work on the next one. Enjoy.
"Oh, damn!" Devan said, eyebrows going up and leaning backwards as her sunglasses slipped down her nose. She was outright staring at the ass of one running back that jogged past for summer practice. She didn't notice that he's heard her and glanced back over his shoulder with a frown as he kept going past to join the rest of his team out in the middle of the field, helmet going from his hand onto his head as he tried to shake off the attention from the completely taken, celebrity that everyone was sure had no interest in guys. And they'd be right of course, but with a fine ass like the one that had just gone past her, she had been unable to help her admiration out loud. It had of course, come with a rather hard swat on the shoulder after the athletic male had looked away.
"Ah… What? That boy has got a fine damn ass on him, you have amazing tastes Kota." She told her best friend with a grin, which only earned her another hard swat on the shoulder "Ow! Seriously, what the hell? I gotta check him out if you want me to help you." She told him, before catching his hand as he went to hit her again. She pointed at him, finger not too far from his nose. "No. Bad boy." She said with a smile, as he playfully snapped at her finger, just missing as she pulled it back. Both instantly broke into fits of giggles and they leaned in together, taking a minute or two to catch their breath. A moment later, their sunglasses sat properly upon their noses, hair shinning in the sun as they munched on some popcorn that they had brought with them and watched as their high-school football team did their summer practice to keep in shape to maintain their championship streak.
They were sitting on the first and second row of the bleachers, close to the entrance of the parking lots, while a bunch of other giggly girls were farther up and off to the back corner as they talked about all the boys they wanted to just fuck. Really, she didn't understand how more of them weren't labeled as sluts. But then, she did suppose they hid it well. She shook her head to get of them to get her focus back on the field and sighed as she tilted her head to really watch the one running back that she was vested in. Before the day was through, she'd have him talking to Kota… She hoped.
"What's his name again?" she asked, shielding the sun from her eyes with her hand as she pushed her sunglasses very slowly back up her nose after they slid down again. They were watching him tear off down the field after taking a rather sneaky hand-off from the quarter back. "Bryce Harrison." Dakota supplied Devan as he took the popcorn out of her hand as she held it out to him. "That's with a y." he told her as she stood up abruptly, which prompted him to set the popcorn off to his side so that he could stand just as she was cupping her hands to her mouth and hollering out across the open field, just as Bryce was crossing the goal line. Dakota had tried to scramble to stop her, when he realized what she was about to do, but had slipped and was unsuccessful. "Hey, Bryce! Great Run!" she had hollered moments before being slugged on the shoulder, making her topple sideways and temporarily lose her balance, arms flailing in small circles before going straight out to stop herself from falling over as the running back turned with his team to look at who was yelling. They had expected it from the girls, giggling in top far corner, but not from the odd pair that had been whispering conspiratorially within the near front corner.
Devi and Kota were standing on the bleachers, Kota towering over her from his second row seat, and arguing with each other as the practice was ending and the team was going towards their vehicles or the showers. They were in the middle of a rather heated argument over the fact that they both agreed the boy was hot, but that no, he no longer wanted her help on the matter of getting his attention because the whole thing was stupid and hopeless. "Hey!" They heard a smooth male voice call out from behind Devi, making her whip around to see who had addressed them as Kota's eyes nearly bugged out of his face while it turned red. Her sunglasses slipped down her nose as her eyebrows went up while looking him over and she titled her head just slightly to her right "Hey." She said back, to which a quiet Kota gave her shoulder a push, in a very lame attempt to stop her as he barely made a noise in his throat. She just rolled her eyes and pushed her sunglasses back up her nose.
"So… Uh… You wanna get dinner some time?" Bryce decided to jump straight into it and Devi could only snort before she replied. "Sure, let me just ask my hot girlfriend." She replied smartly. "Hey, maybe I even get down on a bended knee during this three way date and ask her to marry me before we ditch you there at the restaurant with no way to pay for a tab." She added with a smirk, which earned her a hard shove from behind. "Stop it!" she snapped, turning to swat at her friends persistent hand when she had yet again been knocked off balance, which had nearly sent her toppling over the rail. She spun back to Bryce and his very confused look "Listen lover boy, I can't go to dinner with you, but I'll cheer you on at games with my friends. However, you should be elated to know that Dakota here is free and eligible. You should take him someplace now." She said, patting her slowly turning red, best friends shoulder before grabbing the empty popcorn tin and hurrying down the steps. "Or you know, whenever you want too." She added with a grin as she rushed past him towards the parking lots, leaving them both alone to interact with one another.
"I… Um… Guess I'll pick you up Friday?" Bryce asked, sounding very uncertain and awkward. He had no clue as to what had just happened. He had suspected that Devan would interact, but not to the extent she just had. Dakota hadn't even talked, still standing there with his mouth just slightly agape, looking entirely too cute for his own good. "Uh… You got a phone?" he asked, now turning a little red from embarrassment himself, though he could easily blame it on practice. Of course, the giggling girls were only making it worse as they were giggling on her way towards the parking lot. Dakota still couldn't even speak, just make meek noises as he nodded his head vigorously, face burning a very bright red as he scrambled to pull out his phone. Bryce quickly told him his number, and too shoot him a text before he was off and jogging towards the far parking lot, having decided to shower at home, and leaving a very stunned boy in his wake.
"Ow! Shit! Cut it out!" Devan was trying to defend herself from simultaneous attacks on either side of her as both Dorinda and Dakota continued to hit her with mostly soft pillows over what she'd done to the boy the previous day. It wasn't that she'd left him there with no ride, which in all honesty she hadn't, it was that she had gone and set him up on a date with the Running Back of his dreams without even knowing if the football player was even gay. "Stop hitting me dammit! I said I was sorry! But come on, I didn't know if you were gay when I had the crush on you Do!" She tried to defend, before she was quickly catching her girlfriend's next swing of the pillow, tearing it from her grip to block her best friend's next swing as she very smoothly pulled the woman she loved into a deep and very passionate kiss.
"Get a room." Kota shot at them, as he tossed his pillow aside, giving up and resigning himself to the date, he'd pretty much already agreed too. "In one." Devi quickly said to him, breaking her kiss for only a moment. At least until he started to make gagging noises that had Do giggling too much to properly kiss. "And moments ruined." The younger of the couple said with a soft sigh as they all moved to get comfortable on the bed in her bedroom. The couple got cozy against the headboard as Kota flopped himself down across the foot of the bed. "Ugh! I don't know what to do!" he said, pulling out his phone to look up at it while holding it very carefully up over his face. Devi shifted at held out her hand "Lemme see your phone."
"What for?" he asked, his attention shifting to her as he continued to hold it up above his head. She arched a brow at him "I just wanna see what you've texted him… If you've texted him." She said, and he sighed as he held his phone out to her. The couple nearly knocked heads as they leaned in to look at the screen. "Wait… You haven't even texted him?" Dorinda was saying as she grabbed her girlfriends hand to get a better look at his phone. It was open to his number to start a new text message, but not a single message had been sent. "Yea…" he said softly from where he was at the foot of the bed. "I just don't know what to say, what to tell him… I was supposed to send him a text, so he'd have my number. But…"
"Oh no, that will not do, and is about to change. Your date is supposed to be tomorrow and he doesn't even have your number, let alone know where to pick you up."
"What!?" Kota shot up and tried to launch himself across the bed at his best friend, only to get a face full of the covers and a handfuls of pillow as she launched herself away from her girlfriend and off of the bed. He growled and scrambled to get up after her to stop her. But from spending the better part of the year, constantly texting her girlfriend, whom now sat giggling at the pair as they ran around the room, he had been unable to catch her in time and she had successfully managed to send a few messages back and forth with Bryce before he finally managed to succeed and get his phone away from her.
"Oh my G-D! What did you do!? You told him I was looking forward to this!" his eyes were wide and nearly bulging out of his head as he read the next message. "You told him he was sexy!?"
"Hey, that boy works out, that was damn fine ass for a man." She said, only to earn a swat from Do. "Ow, easy. You know I love you, but I had to know what I was working with." She said, quickly kissing her before a protest or anything else could happen. "Besides, he ain't nothing compared to you." She said, kissing her again as she slowly guiding her back on the bed. She knew that could have an impromptu little make-out before Kota would be back over there and falling onto the bed in his continued state of shock. Which they would have to break him from.
"Devi!" Adeline was hollering as she came running into the house from the back yard, giddy and unable to keep still as she bolted up the stairs to come face to face with the older girl as she was stepping out of her room, about to holler back an askance. "Whoa! Easy Cookie… The hell you running around yelling my name for?"
"She asked, she asked, she asked!" the sixteen year-old girl quickly said, bouncing on her toes with so much excitement that Devan's hands shot out to still her. That however did not keep her very still as she continued to squirm. "Okay, settle down, take a deep breath and run that by me again?" She asked, she received the deep breath, but the young girl did not settle down as she quickly launched into this long winded speech, said all in one breath, about how the girl that she'd told her about from school, had clicked with her, and that they were really getting along great, been on many dates, but now she'd finally asked her to be her girlfriend and she was just so happy that she'd finally asked, because it had apparently taken her long enough, and now she had a girlfriend to go back to school with and she couldn't actually wait for the year to start.
Devan had to blink a few times, let out a very heavy sigh, releasing the younger girl to bounce around before her and then held out her hand "Give them over." She said, watching as all the younger girls energy was suddenly sapped from her and this puppy dog eyes look came over her. "Nope, not gonna work, give them over, Addy. Before you end up on such a sugar high, Brandie forbids us all from having sweets for the better part of the next three months. And if Serena doesn't get her weekly chocolate fix, we are all done for. So. Cookies. Now." She said, still holding out her hand.
