Chapter 6: Enlisting Marissa

Kowalski slowly opens his eyes and blinks away his dizziness. "What happened?" He mutters as he holds his head and rubs it.

"You got kidnapped by a clone." Cecelia sighs, still in her cloning tube prison.

He slowly lifts his head and looks at her. "What? How did you get here, too?"

Cecelia looks at him a bit softly. "Kowalski, I've been here." She says. "I got kidnapped days ago on my way to Invexpo with my cloning machine." She sighs. "And I was sure that it was going to win this year."

Kowalski just looks at her in shock. "You mean...That wasn't you back at the zoo?! You weren't the one I showed around?!" He exclaims.

"That's exactly it. Sorry, I wish it truly had been me, though..." She says with a small smile. "I've been too 'busy' here with dumb and dumbah." She says with a small laugh. "They wanted to use me as a lure to get you so that together we can figure out some mutant MP3 playah and help them take ovah. Crazy, isn't it?"

"...Who?" Is all Kowalski can ask as he feels a little dizzy. He is not sure if that's from the sudden shock of discovering that he has been dating a robot clone, or if it is from how that same clone knocked him out and was not the least bit careful in dragging him here. He rubs his aching head some more and looks at Cecelia.

"Some big lizard that apparently has something against Private and Trixy and some air-breathing shark who claims he is a dolphin. Personally, I think he is confused, since dolphins are supposed to be friendly creatures and not diabolical criminal 'geniuses.'" Cecelia shrugs.

Kowalski nods some and rubs his head. "Blowhole and Komodo?"

"Yes." She nods. "That does sound like their names." She turns some in the tube to try to find a more comfortable position. She fails at doing so and just sits back down, facing Kowalski.

Kowalski just sits in his own little prison in thought. Why would Blowhole want another mutant MP3 player? Why couldn't he build it himself with Komodo? How long until the team discovers that is his missing and start planning a rescue?...Was he really dating Cecelia or not, since that had been a clone? He looks at Cecelia thoughtfully. "So...Eh…" He then stops. He knows that now is probably not the best time to be asking if she still wanted to date him or not.

Trixy watches as 'Cecelia' writes things down on a clipboard. None of her plans make any sense, which is confusing Trixy and making her just more certain that this is not the real Cecelia. Cici was intelligent, a scientist. Her plans should make some sort of sense in some way. This Cecelia is drawing pictures of badgers and talking about their burrowing ability and terrifying Private! It just makes no sense to her why Cecelia would be doing such a thing.

The HQ's phone then begins to ring and Skipper goes over and answers it, thinking it may be from the kidnapper. He frowns as he soon discovers that it is someone completely different; Marissa. "What?" He asks a bit gruffly. "We're kind of busy here with some missing personnel." He says.

"Missing personnel? Trixy is alright, right?" Marissa replies more curiously than worriedly.

"Yes, she is fine." Skipper sighs and wishes that the scientist will hurry up.

"Good, then send her back this way." She says. "Skippsy sent a message that I am to get her within my charge again as she has heard about that little mishap of yours with losing her in the ocean!"

Skipper rubs his flipper over his face. "Fine. I'll send her over that way, Marissa." He says as he glances at the clock.

Trixy hears him and looks at him with a slightly open beak. She then slides over and takes the phone from him. "No! I can't come there yet, Mari!" She says.

"And why can't you, Trixy? While Skippsy is gone, I'm in charge and she said that she wants you back here." The scientist sternly replies.

"But I can't go! Kowalski has been kidnapped and I want to help!" The teen replies as she looks over at Cecelia. She covers the phone some. "Plus, I think there's an impostah among us here and no one will believe me...Maybe you could keep an eye on me by coming too?" She asks.

Marissa groans. "Must I really? I'm sure the idiot can manage well enough without us." She says.

Trixy shakes her head. "Pleeeeeaaaasssee, Mari?" She says really hopefully.

"Ugggh, fine, alright." She finally sighs and gives in. "Just this once, since Rachel is going on a date with that guy of her's anyway."

"Oh yay! Thank you, Marissa!" She beams.

Marissa sighs. "Yeah, yeah, whatev. I'm on my way over..." She then hangs up and Trixy hands the phone back to Skipper.

"So...?" Skipper asks, looking at her.

"Marissa is coming to help." Trixy smiles at him and then glances at Cecelia. "So, at least we will finally get some worth while options..." She then waddles over to the table and sits down and pulls out her little invention. It is nearly finished. Trixy then waddles over to her backpack and pulls out a small soldering gun. She brings it over to the table and her invention and begins to work on the motherboard and another circuit board. She also attaches some wires to the boards. When Marissa finally enters the HQ, Trixy is just screwing in the last couple of screws, Skipper paces the floor, Private is hiding under the table from Cecelia who keeps trying to show him her newest drawing of a honey badger, and Rico is idly brushing his doll's blond hair.
