It didn't take too long for both Gargan and Jameson to get where they were going. When they walked inside the warehouse, they saw him. Doctor Farley Stillwell was working on a secret project of his.
"Stillwell" Jameson began "Is it ready yet? I think Mac is getting impatient of waiting." Stillwell turned to Jameson and said "Yes, all in due time, . Now I may have been fired from Roxxon for this tiny experiment, but it was worth it. Gentlemen, behold!" Stillwell removed a shroud from what appeared to be a person shaped object. "I call it the Scorpion armor."
J.J's and Gargan's eyes both widened at the sight of this green armored suit. Jonah then smirked and said "Perfect! This will take down Spider-Man for good!" Gargan then turned to Jameson and asked "Do I really have to get in that thing?"
"Well if you wanna get paid, you better get your ass into that suit!" Jameson said with demanding tone. Stillwell reassured Gargan and told him it was completely safe. Gargan looked at the green armor hesitantly and got inside of it anyway. It was cold at first, but then it heated up a bit. Then it started attaching itself to Gargan. It started grafting itself to his skin and before he could try to escape it, it was too late.
"WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME?" Mac yelled. Stillwell smirked and said "Oh hush up, Mac. You'll be fine." Gargan then grabbed Stillwell by the throat and tossed him through the wall. "I'M A FREAK!" he screamed. But that wasn't the worst part. His spine began tingling. And that's when the tail raised up from his back. Stillwell got back up and laughed. He said "Yes! It works! The armor has attached to your cerebral cortex! You can control your tail with your brain waves, Gargan!" Gargan's face contorted into a sickly smile. "Let's give it a go!" he said as he stabbed the razor end of the tail into Stillwell.
"Now…" he said removing the now bloodied tail from Stillwell, "where's flattop? I want revenge for sticking me into this suit!" He looked around but saw nothing. Jameson had run from the scene of the crime. "Well" Mac said with a frown "I guess I'll have to find that little rat. He made me into something I'm not! No longer shall I go by the name Mac Gargan! That was stripped away from me! From here on out…I am Scorpion!" Scorpion then leapt out one of the smashed up windows of the warehouse.
As he left, two men arrived on the scene. One was familiar, it was Norman Osborn. The other was instead a man who stood shorter than Osborn. His stout height was only shown off my by his girth. "Doctor Octavious" Osborn began as he scoped the area "It appears your readings are right. We've got another arachnid running around." Octavious shook his head and said "Well , I'm afraid we've got three running around counting this new one."
Norman's face went from a stern blank face to a scowl. "What do you mean by three, Octavious?" he said with disgust in his voice.
"Well…" Otto began to explain "Our detectors detected not only this, and Spider-Man, but another source!" Osborn grabbed Octavious by his tiny shoulders and asked "Where is this other source?!" Otto adjusted his glasses and said "Well we should investigate here before we do anything. It appears that this was the lair of Doctor Farley Stillwell, a man who was recently fired by Roxxon." Osborn gave an uncaring shrug and said "And just why should I care about Stillwell, Otto?" Otto began to explain "Well you see Mr. Osborn…he was fired from Roxxon for stealing our data. Specifically mine."
Osborn finally gave a smirk as he said "Well what are you waiting for? Search that man's body, Otto! See what you can find." As Octavious dug through the dead man's suit he gasped. " !" he exclaimed " ! These must be the plans he stole! This suit design clearly has my work written all over it. Specifically the tail, I mean the cerebral cortex connection…clearly based on my tentacle plans. But what is it to be used for?" Osborn shoved Octavious and said "It clearly doesn't matter, does it? Let whatever this monstrosity is run amok. We can worry about that when the time comes…"
Cut to the Daily Bugle. Spider-Man sat atop the building alone. That is until he saw Scorpion crawling up the building. "Hey!" he yelled out "don't you know wall crawling is my bit, pal?" Scorpion looked up the red and blue costumed kid and said "Buzz off, buddy!"
Spider smirked and said "As tempting as the offer sounds, I think I'd rather not. I mean not like spiders buzz anyway. We prefer to crawl." Scorpion just leapt up at him and tackled him "SHUT UP!" he screamed to the top of his lungs. "I'd rather not" Spidey said in the most condescending tone he could. As he said that he tried punching Gargan, to little avail. Gargan laughed off his attacks and threw him into an air shaft on the roof.
"DON'T YOU KNOW THAT THE SCORPION IS THE NATURAL ENEMY OF THE SPIDER, FOOL?" Gargan boasted as he once again lifted the hero. Then suddenly another voice came into the fray "Well then it looks like Spiders need to team up here!"
And then in leapt a female figure in a white hood, she looked similar to Spider-Man, but yet she was different. The girl then jumped in front of Scorpion. He was juts baffled, though. "The hell is this? Ahh whatever! Two Spiders just means more to kill!"
Luckily this white clad Spider gave Peter just enough of a distraction to escape from Scorpion's grasp. "Hey idiot" she said "Look in your hands, your prey is gone." Scorpion looked in his hands and Spidey was gone. But this new character webbed Scorpions feet to the ground, and then like a rock coming from a slingshot, Spider-Man swung into Scorpion's back, knocking him over.
"Nice job, rookie" Spidey said with a thumbs up "But who the heck are you?" The girl looked at him, and her mask crinkled into what appeared to be a smile. "Name's Spider-Woman, big fan of yours, by the way." Spidey looked at her with doubt at first, but then actually believed her. "Your name is Spider-Woman?" he said with amusement "Name's a bit derivative, but I like your style, lady. What's your story?" Spider-Woman scratched the back of her neck.
"Well…" she began "I'd love to tell you, but I don't know if that's the best idea. Secret identity and all that." But before they could continue with the conversation, Scorpion grabbed Spider-Man by his ankle.
"Sorry to interrupt your little date!" he yelled as he slammed Spidey into the Bugle roof floor, slamming him into the Bugle's main offices.
"What the Hell?!" screamed J. Jonah Jameson from his office. He clearly blamed Spider-Man for this whole affair at first but then he saw Scorpion leap in after the wall-crawler and he knew whose fault this really was. "My god…" he spoke in a solemn tone "This is my fault! I created that monster! Ahhh damn it! I hate to admit it, but I shouldn't have left that beast to his own devices!"
Then suddenly Scorpion stopped fighting Spider-Man and glared into Jameson's office. His eyes narrowed as he went closely to Jonah's office. But before he could break into there, webs covered his back. It was Spider-Woman! She was trying to pull him back. Alas, he only pulled her forward into Jameson's office door.
BANG Jameson heard as the poor girl hit his door. "Oh god…" he thought to himself "What do I do, what do I do?" The banging got louder. Finally, Scorpion tore down his door and hissed. "YOU MADE ME LIKE THIS, NOW YOU HAVE TO PAY!" he screamed to the top of his lungs.
Jonah scrambled around his desk, and then both of the Spiders leapt into action. Both pulled back on Scorpion and then he was sent flying out of Jameson's office and into a few desks. It seemed like he had been knocked out for now.
And as soon as they were there, the two Spiders were gone. Jameson looked at his wrecked office. He wanted to blame Spider-Man for this. He really did. But instead he hung his head low. The police showed up to escort Gargan to a high security prison, but even with Mac away, Jameson knew that he created a monster…
