A few days later back in the Roxxon main offices, was the Kingpin, he was reading a newspaper as he patched up his wounds.
The newspaper had "Wilson Fisk outed as the Kingpin by Daredevil and the police force." written as the headline. Kingpin's face scrunched up in rage as he crushed the paper. "That Spider-Man and his friends have ruined me for good! At least I can run Roxxon from the shadows for now…"
He leaned back into his chair and thought "I must find a way to kill Spider-Man so he can't look for me. Same goes with Daredevil, but I have Bullseye on that job. Something tells me I need something big to take down the Spider…something…sinister…"

Back with Spider-man he was wandering an abandoned movie theater. "Now where is that dome headed punk?" he asked himself.
Suddenly the lights went on, and smoke filled the room. He heard boisterous laughter and out from the smoke walked a man in a green netted outfit, his cape was purple and flowed with the smoke, but most eye-catching of all was the dome on his head.
"I AM RIGHT HERE, SPIDER-MAN!" Mysterio yelled in his typical loud voice. "You may have outsmarted me in my last go at you…but this time! I got something bigger!" Spidey just waved his hand in an uncaring manner and said "Yeah yeah whatever, Beck. Cut to the chase, I got somewhere to be!"
Mysterio balled his fists up and yelled "YOU DARE UNDERESTIMATE, I? THE MIGHTY MYSTERIO? WATCH AS YOU ARE SQUISHED LIKE A BUG!" Mysterio suddenly grew larger and attempted to stomp on Spider-Man.
Spidey leapt for dear life as he said "You mean arachnid, buddy." Mysterio scoffed at him and said "I NEEDN'T GET YOUR TERMINOLOGY CORRECT! YOU ARE A MERE B—"before he could finish, Spidey yawned. "HOW IMPOLITE" Mysterio continued "AS I WAS SAYING YOU ARE A MERE BU—" Spidey then yawned again.
Mysterio got extremely flustered as he attempted to step on Spider-Man again with a mighty stomp. Spidey leapt out of the way again and started crawling up the giant Mysterio. The arms didn't move to try to stop him. Nor did Mysterio start moving.
"GET OFF ME!" Mysterio yelled as Spidey approached the giant dome. "I'm not on you technically, Mysterio. I'm just on top of your giant prop!" Spidey then smashed the dome open to not only find Mysterio piloting the thing, but also a man in a lion vest holding a spear.
"Kraven?" Spidey asked. "The mighty hunter is here for his prey, Spider-Man!" Spidey then said "What's next? Is Sandman or Electro gonna be here too?" Kraven then tackled Spider-Man off of the giant Mysterio prop.
As they fell, Kraven attempted to stab Spider-Man with his spear, but Spidey shot a web out, causing them both to reach a sudden stop. Spidey gripped the web, but Kraven instead met the fate of falling to the ground. "What is this?" Spidey asked the Hunter "Your sixth time losing to me? Seventh? Dork."
Mysterio's prop then went haywire, and the torso and the leg he used to stomp Spidey with fell over, crushing the seats of the theater. Kraven and Mysterio had fallen, defeated. Spidey webbed them both up to the ceiling, and called the cops on them. But before he left, he put a note on the tied up goons that read "Courtesy of your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man!"
After that, he left through the roof. "I can still make it" he repeated to himself as he swung towards the Oscorp building.
When he arrived, he put on more casual clothing and walked into the building.
"Behold" Doctor Octavius exclaimed as he introduced a rather strange looking device no bigger than a car battery. "An electromagnetic device such as this can be very dangerous. But at the right use, it can also save lives. Using inspiration from Roxxon's Electro incident, but yet making it safer…I present to you this!"
Suddenly a hand raised in the audience. It was Doctor Curt Connors asking Octavius how he plans to handle such a dangerous object.
Octavius said "Oh but of course. I almost forgot!" In walked a man holding something that wrapped around Octavius' rather large gut. From the device, four large arms popped out. The claws on each began moving around.
The audience watching Octavius' presentation gasped, some in horror, others in amazement. The Doctor then said "Don't worry! These things aren't sentient. By attaching this device to my cerebral cortex…I am able to control them with my brain waves alone! Kind of like that Scorpion fellow…but unlike that hack Stillwell, god rest his soul, I made it so this is not permanently attached to me like the Scorpion suit was to Gargan."
Everyone clapped, but in the back of the crowd someone was just taking his seat. "You're late, Pete" Harry Osborn said to Peter, who had just sat down. "I'm sorry I got caught up in something. At least I came just in time to see these tentacles at work." Harry whispered back "Well I don't understand this science mumbo jumbo, I'm just glad dad said me and one friend could come see this."
Back at the front of the room, Octavius' tentacles removed his normal glasses and placed a pair of sunglasses over his eyes. "I need to wear these because this this thing can get bright. Luckily for all of you, this protective shield in front of the view should protect your eyes enough."
Octavius then waddled over to his device, still behind the protective shield, but very close. His tentacles got to work and they started tinkering with the device. But nothing happened. "What?" Octavius thought to himself. His tentacles' claws start pressing the button, but again, nothing happened.
The audience then started to boo Octavius. He turned back at them and said "Don't worry everybody! This is a minor setback is all!" Octavius then stepped into the protective dome, and held it with his tentacles. He looked closely and said "Nothing is wrong here…"
Back in the audience, some people started making fun of Octavius' failed device. Others even started laughing at him. Octavius heard all of it, but before he could speak up about it, the device started to glow. Octavius started to run back out of the protective shield, but the door would budge. He screamed for help, but every just started running for the door. Peter tried scrambling out so he could change into his Spider-Man outfit and save Otto, but before he could the device exploded. The protective shield wasn't protective enough, as shards of plexiglass blasted out into the panicking crowd and killed about 5 of them. 15 others were injured.
Peter failed to save Otto, but he managed to pull both Harry and Doctor Connors out of the way so they avoided injury. Soon the entire crowd left the room. And while many mourned the loss of the doctor, others laughed at him, they scoffed at him. They called him names. Even some of the ones in the audience could be heard making fun of what they called "Doctor Octopus the crackpot."
He heard these. Otto didn't die in the explosion. Instead he got back up after everyone left. "They laughed at me…" he said "They didn't…save me…they didn't even try. They only watched out for themselves! And while they may mock me and my new name…I'll show them what Doctor Octopus can truly do!"
The explosion messed with his brain. It became warped. Being made fun of when his device went haywire didn't do much to help either. Not only that, but it fused his tentacled device to his body. He didn't care, though. He took pride in his multiple arms now. "Though they may not have done much for me with the device…these arms will help me get revenge on those who wronged me!"
Before he could continue with his mad rants, his supervisor Norman Osborn walked inside. "I gave you my funding, Otto! And you failed me! Look at this!" he said as he stepped into a pool of blood. "You killed these people! Do you know how much we're going to have to do to make this not look bad? You could very well ruin me Ot—"
Ock then grabbed Osborn by the neck and said "Don't call me Otto, Norman. I'm not that anymore. Otto died in the explosion at least I'm sure that's what you'll say! You'll cover this up, you always do! So out from that accident DOCTOR OCTOPUS was born!"
Norman tried to say something, but he could only let out grunting as he tried not to choke to death. "Dismissed, Norman!" Ock said as he threw Norman into a wall.
His tentacles then retracted into the device, and he put on a trenchcoat and a hat. "I'll show them…I'll show them all…" He then waddled out of them room and out of Oscorp's door.
